Oh how I love my English class. My teacher is legitimately insane. During open school night, none of the parents had any idea what the hell he was rambling on about. So when he gives us assignments, half of the time is just spent deciphering the task. Like so:

Directions: Read the following notes. Then think about them. Then read them again.

Any narrative assumes an intention of the author toward the used. This intention is supposed to lie in the conflict itself and should be revealed through the resolution.

Narrative intention should answer the reader's question, "Why am I reading this story?" as well as answer the author's question, "Why am I telling it?"

The world created by the narrative and the act that produces it are necessarily distinct.

The term theme implies narrative intention.
This is going to be a fun night.

Just got back from the Decemberists show. Easily the best one I've ever been to, and that's after seeing my lovemuffin Morrissey. It would have been nice to have a longer set, but only because I'm greedy (1h 45m). Audience interaction was great, the sound was great, I wish he had thrown in a Morrissey cover during his solo set but hey hearing the Decemberists music is good enough. I highly recommend everyone go if they get a chance.

Sounds good moz. I have to get a Decemberists album.

I'm going to a local gig tonight, it's the re-opening of one of the small venues in the city (they got shut down because of underage drinking a few weeks ago). I think there's about 7 bands playing, including my brother's band. Should be a good night.

I'm going to try to go to more gigs, even if I have to go alone. I hate missing out on bands I want to see because I can't find anyone to go that either:

a) Likes the band and wants to go
b) Has even heard of the band/artist

I'm just going to go on my own to future gigs, it takes too much effort to find someone that wants to go and seeing as most of my friends are at uni it's kind of hard.

Going on your own may be intimidating or whatever, but it has the advantage of giving you the opportunity to meet people at the gig, who you can then get to know and go to future gigs with, which solves your initial problem.

That's the theory, anyway.
