What? The 5k is one of the few times we Americans use the metric system. In fact, the normal cross-country runs of 3.1 miles or whatever are actually pretty close to five kilometers.
In other words, anything close to or under 20 minutes is a good time :)

Well, I don't know if I've said this before, but I'm super young compared to most of you guys; I'm 13 and still in middle school. Our average race is a 2 mile which I can normally get 13 minutes on. So If a didn't tire really quickly I could probably get a 20 minute.

What shows is everyone seeing soon?

The Magic Numbers are playing at my university some time in early October, so I might go to that.
Other than that, I haven't checked my Leeds gig-checking site for a while, so I've no idea. I'll go have a look now.
:(.
In contrast, my girlfriend is talking about dragging my sorry *** to see Coldplay in December.

Nasty. But if the Magic Numbers are on tour, wouldn't they end up somewhere near you at some point, too?
All the shows near me are already sold out, according to the adverts I saw.

Oh. Probably a good thing I'm not that bothered about going, then.
Although going by my guide (http://www.leedsgigs.co.uk) there doesn't seem to be much else coming soon.

My girlfriend dragged me to see Coldplay in June. I was positive they'd be bland but they turned out to be a brilliant live band. Chris Martin's pre-rehearsed stunts that he does at every gig are annoying though. God, I hate him.

Happy Birthday(:chug: as usual) What gifts did you get?
Well, here's what I got on the musical front:
Iron Maiden- Killers
Primus- Sailing the Seas of Cheese
The Replacements- Let It Be
I've only listened to the first one so far, but I have no doubt that I will enjoy the others. I don't take risks on my album-buying; I usually go in with a pretty good idea of what I will dig in the future.
Also, I couldn't get the albums I really wanted at Best Buy because they weren't there. No Melvins albums at all! And here's what really pisses me off: albums by classic rock bands are always limited to greatest hits compilations or ridiculous remasters that strip away anything especially neat and reminiscent of when they were recorded. The only Yes albums I could find were some anthology (with all the long songs turned into "single edits") and the one with "Owner of A Lonely Heart" on it!
So no Fragile or Close to the Edge for me; I'll have to try Amazon. Maybe in a week or so when I can also pre-order the new Coheed album.

Ok, good. When you look for things to dl, find something with more "seeds" than "leechers". Or a high ratio (1.0+). If you do that, then it'll go fast, you can find this stuff on the right side of mininova.
