How did that software work out for you?

I responded a while ago, but I guess you didn't see it. Thank you so much for doing it, but that program runs on a PC; you need to plug a PC with the program into the Mac with the problem somehow, and then you can run the scan and recover the files from the PC, which doesn't make any sense. I even got a hold of a PC to do it with, and I still couldn't make any sense of it. Thank you for trying, though.
