The theremin is one of the oldest electronic instruments, and the only one known that you play without touching. Moving your hands in the space around its antennas controls pitch and volume. Like the Ethervox, the Etherwave is an authentic adaptation of inventor Leon Theremin’s original design.

That books makes absolutely no sense.

You just gotta use context, and you don't need to get hung up on the exact meanings of certain words. After you're a few chapters in, it starts to click.

So yeah. One of my favorite books.

I'm halfway through another of Anthony Barness' books, M/F. Initially, it's a difficult read, but once you get used to his style it's a joy to read. A Clockwork Orange is the same, once you get through the initial tough period, it becomes very enjoyable.

I need better headphones. Perferably that don't make my ears sweaty.

The only other Anthony Burgess book I've read besides Clockwork Orange was End of World News, or something like that. Forget if that's exact title. I think it was unpublished when he croaked, got put out afterwards. It's neat, three stories going on simultaneously; a sci-fi end-of-the-world story, a story about Freud fleeing nazi Germany and a story about Trotsky in New York, set as a musical. They kind of tie together in the end.

It's cheaper. Plus, they always have loads of copies, and you don't have to fight/queue for them. I've bought all the previous 3 from Asda, and then spoken to friends who are upset because the bookshop sold out. I'm like....'wow, I could have bought 20 where I went.'

I'll still do it, yeah. Need to clear up some rules with mods and regulars though. I'll do that now, I guess.

Woolworths isn't quite the same, but yeah, that sort of thing.

Woolies is also a good place to buy it, actually.

I figure the bookshops deliberately understock because they're hoping that if people visit their shop more often, they're more likely to buy something else.
