In any case, here's the situation I was put in earlier today, which looking back, I find pretty funny.
My best friend rang me up, asking to go out. My best friend is a girl, who recently broke up with her fiancee of 3 1/2 years. I'll let your imagination go wild on that one.
She wanted me to go out because she'd agreed with go out with my ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, and didn't want to be a '3rd wheel'.
Where were they going? Well, they were going to a pub. Unbeknownest to my ex-girlfriend, my best friend had suggested this pub because one of her other friends was having a birthday party there. We'll call the birthday girl 'K'.
Well, K is the reason me and my ex-girlfriend broke up. I apparently made a comment about her, my ex-girlfriend got jealous, I couldn't be bothered to deal with her clingy moodswings any more, and the relationship fizzled out.
So I would have gone to a party with my ex-girlfriend, the reason me and my ex-girlfriend broke up, my ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend (who she cheated on me with, by the way), and my **** buddy.
Can anyone out-wierd that? I kinda regret not going, but I have too much work. And dealing with the fallout probably wouldn't have been fun.
As it is, I'm talking to another ex-girlfriend on MSN, explaining to her why things will never work out between us, and all we'll ever have is sex. She's a devout Christian who doesn't believe in sex before marriage.
What a day. And I haven't even left the house!
Sorry dude. Did you see the real madrid vs barcelona score? What a game!!

I wish I could've tagged some sarcasm onto the earlier post; that's what I was trying to convey....Anyways...
Being in Rome right now means being home to Poles away from Poland, so there were a ton of drunk Polish guys at a bar last night. I happened to be wearing an old German military jacket (just a german flag on each sleeve, no Nazi insignia or remnants of it). Polish guy walks up to me, shoves me, calls me a "****ing Nazi" in Polish (translated by his friend). I explained to him I was from America, things settled down, and then began the 50 hour explanation of why Poles don't like Germans. I wasn't paying attention most of the time because A: there was a hot British chick that I'd been talking to still eyeing me across the way, and B: Anyone who knows anything about WWII knows why Germans and Poles don't mix...So yeah, I just sat there, nodded, let him finish, and then told him to go the bathroom because he was sweating more than a grown man should.
I wish I could've tagged some sarcasm onto the earlier post; that's what I was trying to convey....
I got it - I was being facetious.
I used to like those jackets. Just a shame EVERYONE wears them round here.

That's what I'm thinking now. But like I said, dealing with all the snide comments and stupid jealousy for the next few weeks would have sucked.
Oh, I forgot - both my best friend and my ex-girlfriend are bisexual. So I've a suspicion the reason that they invited her out was to try and initiate a threesome.
My life rules.

i've seen people w/'em everywhere 'round here too, but 5 euro from a street vendor was definitely worth it despite the trendiness of the jacket.

I joined an honorary society (has Greek letters but it's more of an honor roll) and they elected me president. I'll have to see how this works out, since I've never been in charge of something like this before. But I was apparently the most qualified, so I must be able to do a good job.
Also, I went back home for the weekend to see my friend at another college perform in a play. Sup lead role and he's only a freshman! Good show.

Actually, just found out that we have some info. Daniel Day-Lewis to star. Adaptation of "Oil!" 1927 novel by Upton Sinclair. This will be P.T. Anderson's first movie adaptation...

Didn't work this semester though - too many afternoon classes - and nearly resulted in my being kicked out.
I was in bed at about 00.30 last night. I didn't actually get to sleep until 6. I can't sleep at the best of times, but this is just stupid.

Good idea, but I can't see that working for me. I work until 6.10 every weekday, then don't get home until just before 7. Then I have to eat, and I can't sleep after just eating. The eventual result of that would probably mean me getting the right amount of sleep, but not having any time to do coursework at home - I'd get to sleep by about midnight, then not get up till 8.
Wish it'd work though.

Basketball = no good
Soccer = alright
Swimming = best sport ever.
So, it depends.
This week I've had two presentations, one about Modernism in Literature and the other about Psychological Illnesses.. gah, it lasted for 3 days, and it's still not finished. Then, I played the worst show I ever did in 2 years. I have recordings though, I will post the "not so complete utter crap" ones.
I hope you mean to play, and not to watch. That list you gave gets progressively more fun to do if you go downwards, and progressively more fun to watch if you go upwards.
Anyway, I'm usually terrible at working out tracks by ear, but in the past 3 days I've figured out the piano riff from Stem/Long Stem, the violin passage and opening chords from Art Of Life, the melody and chords to Kiss From A Rose, and the middle eight from The Model (Kraftwerk). That's more than I've worked out ever, I think.

Swimming is only fun when there are big inflatable octupii in the pool. Or those blue styrofoam (?) mats on which you have aquatic battles. Basketball I dont think is very fun to play or watch on account of it being too repetitive. Football (soccer) "pwns" every other sport there is.

You people are silly. Soccer is definitely a fun sport to play, and the "back and forth" tendencies of basketball are almost non-existent because there's no shot clock and the field is much larger. Although it IS pretty boring to watch, but understanding why the rest of the world watches it anyway is akin to understanding why Americans watch baseball.

Football is superior because its easy to follow, doesn't keep stopping every couple of minutes, clear rules (offside is the only one that could be considered hard to understand), and its easy to distinguish when good things happen eg. a breathtaking piece of skill, a 25-yard screamer etc. And a lot of people say its boring how there arent many goals scored, well that only makes it even more exciting and special when a goal is scored

Wow.
Really exciting.
Too cool.
Meh. I know you're probably not gonna bother arguing properly with a "n00b" like me but just like how sarcasm is the lowest form of wit its also the lowest form of argument technique. Its only sports though, so I dont really care.
An argument about sports between America and UK is about as pointless as Moby. If you did a favourite sports poll in both countries soccer would no doubt be top in the UK, but in the US it'd probably be somewhere in between "Burger lifting" and "Kiddie rape"

Or, I might not be arguing with you at all and possibly just having a good time at your expense while I do my office work.
Trust me, I don't care about soccer, basketball, or you.

Darn, and here I was hoping you'd be my friend
Edit: Yes I am aware about my comment on sarcasm just a couple of minutes ago.
Were you joking about doing office work? I can never tell when you're joking

As much as it is popular, I can imagine how fun it is to play football alone. Wowz

I've never know anyone from outside America take even the slightest interest in basketball.
Me. Though I lived there for 3 years so maybe I don't count.
Pavement are so good.

Nope. I spent all day in the IT rooms finishing off my coursework, finally. Didn't see her at all.
Which is probably a good thing.

which reminds me, that's my country's most widely played sport. You can occasionally see white people getting owned by midgets in friendly neighborhood outdoor courts.
