Hey man, I get confused watching rugby too.

Most sports confuse me. I mean, why would you be out there in the freezing cold, risking serious injury, just to entertain a legion of fat ****s who sit at home drinking beer and shouting advice at arbitrary groupings of pixels?

Yes, I know the answer is money. And the occasional chance of knobbing a celebrity. But still.....there MUST be easier ways!!! Invent and patent a new adhesive or something.

I usually just take the ratings straight from my RYM page. Only 42 have 5 stars - 105 have 3.5/5, and 122 have 4/5, and 76 each have 3/5 and 4.5/5.

That, in the broadest sense possibly, is the albums I like. And all but 1 of those 42 with 5 stars have already been reviewed. Only Kate Bush left. And Bill Hicks, but he doesn't really count as such.

So I'm not going to be giving any other albums full marks any time soon.

Well, I was hella offended in English class today. I'm in Honors American Lit., you see, and today they allowed some college students to come in and give us a lesson on poetry. First, we were instructed to write down the name of someone near us, and write a word to describe them on each line. This is an exercise I remember doing in 6th grade. After that, we were broken down into smaller groups with college students for each group. My group had two, and one of them was a real winner. A 5th year senior, aspiring gym teacher who has switched majors 3 times now, he explained to us that he knows nothing about poetry. When we were in small groups, the activity basically consisted of reading two poems, one from each of our two college mentors. Mister winner brought us a poem entitled "Exercise!," which he found on FUNNYPOEMS.COM. It had a spelling mistake, and was one of the worst poems I have ever read in my life. I just don't understand how something like this can happen. What is wrong with education?

In the span of a few short hours;
"What is the best genre of rock?"
"Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitarists"
"Which is the best decade of music?"
Posting in the death heads thread about System of a Down.

She hasn't cheated on me in the traditional sense, if that's what everyone's thinking, since I'm not actually going out with her. It's just.....I was making an effort to get to know her friends. He just asked how I knew her, and I explained our history (a good 13 months of it). And every so often, he'd keep interjecting. Finishing sentences for me. It got to the point where he'd say something she'd done to him, then I'd say 'Yeah, me too!', and vice versa.

Basically she's been stringing both of us along, emotionally, for God knows how long. And it's working, because we're both head over heels for her.

Apparently she also had a boyfriend quite recently. Which I never knew about, and which makes me wonder how she kept it a secret from me.

Ah well that's always bad when you're brought along just for the ride. From my position I say you should just move on because this is a girl that doesn't know what she wants. You'd never be able to have a relationship with her simply for the fact that she's not to be trusted. I've been down the same road before a couple of years ago as much as it's going to hurt you'll have to move forward. She probably has alot of things to figure out about her self still so it's not worth your time to stick around.

Master Arkam Kannon
02-11-2005, 03:42 PM
yeah, attempting to gather anymore attempts that trying to go out with her in the future may not even be worth it either. she seems like she wouldnt be good in the long run, by that description of her alone, she'd probably just stay around till she got bored then moved on.

my suggestion is to find something or someone else to put your time into, you can still be friends with this other girl, just lose the attactment of wanted to go out with her, and you'll feel better, ive been there, and its does really feel better to just let things go.

i feel for ya Iai.

i'm going through abit of a dark patch in time at the mo. there is a girl i really like, i REALLY like her. everything about her is just amazing. we talk for hours about music, photography. we are very similar people, and like very similar things, it's quite surreal.

thing is, i've been falling for her for quite some time now, but i know that she doesn't like me in that way at all. she sees me as like a 'brother' or something along those lines. she always says about how she will never be with anyone because she says she can never settle for less, and never could. this in mind, i knew she wouldn't like me in 'that' way. she also doesn't seem to believe in love, what it is, or anything about it. she believes it's fake, and that people settle for less all the time, just for the sake of a traditional modern family. i see the logic in this, but still i think there is such a thing as love.

this is quite true in a sense, and really puts me off talking to her sometimes. lately, she seems to be avoiding talking to me alot, as people have been asking us both if we're together. she's a very shy person, and this i'm sure embarasses her when people ask, and probably annoys too. we just spend alot of time together, but as friends. but...i like her more than a friend, and i know nothing could ever come between us, because it's not what she wants, but i just can't get over her charm.

i don't know what to do with myself, i find myself thinking about her all time, wanting to talk to her all the time. would the friendship be a lie if i wanted more than a friendship? i know i can't tell her any of this, because she probably wouldn't speak to me again.

gah, i hate 'love'

I've only heard three of their albums, but not as far as I can tell. They may have some anti-Christian/anti-religion songs, but overall their lyrics are inspired much more by Lovecraft, fantasy and ancient civilisations (particularly Sumer/ia - some of the lyrics to one of their albums are in Sumerian).

Well I own a photo theremin that costs roughly 100 dollars (don't know the exchange rate) and instead of a normal theremin it changes pitch and frequency by light, so you can play it with say a flashlight. It was worthwhile buy to make lots of noise but it's not really possible to "play" one unless you have a good ear for pitch. Here's the site which has a couple of song clips if you're interested. :)
