I was just outside doing some hardcore trudging. First I went to the sled hill on my property, and tried to sled with a folded-up lawn chair, cause we have no sleds. It doesn't work, take my word for it. Or don't; try it for yourself. After that failure, I went through thigh-deep snow in the woods around my 'hood. I went to the sanddunes, and it was gusty and cool. It's amazing how dead my neighborhood gets in the winter. Everyone was either out shopping or inside probably watching television.

But I'm a hardcore trudgist.

you're basing it on the person and not the drugs themselves. if a person's a prick they're gonna be a prick on drugs or off. lots of good people do drugs (like my 80 year old friend) and they dont hurt themselves or anyone else because of it. drugs arent the problem, its the people themselves who use them wrong. you've just grown up in a world that looks down on people who do drugs which greatly affects your view of them. i was once like you, i dispised them but eventually came to the conclusion that i was being brainwashed into not thinking for myself and learning from my own experiences, not of others.

Opinions, people!!

Behind door #1 we have my most recent girlfriend. You know, the one ZERO said looks like Bjork. I suppose I'm still technically involved with her, but it seems to change on a daily basis. She's developing a nasty habit of constantly playing me off another guy to get me (and probably him) jealous. And she's prone to violent moodswings, thanks to all the emtional baggage she's bringing out of her last relationship.

Behind door #2 we have a semi-girlfriend from a while ago. She recently got back in contact with me to tell how upset she is that we never see each other any more. The reason we "broke up" is that she decided she didn't want to see me any more, because she was getting too close to me and didn't want to get hurt. Afriad of her own feelings, or she just didn't like me any more? You decide. In any case, I thought I was over her, but the girl behind door #1 told me a couple days ago that she had a boyfriend, and it hit me really hard. Door #2 girl denies this strenuously and says I'm her last kiss, let alone relationship.

Behind door #3 we have another girl entirely, who I've only ever spoken to once, but got along with really well. She recently got dumped by her boyfriend, and she works with my best friend, who can put several good words in. Should she be interested, she'd offer me an escape route from all the emotional problems girls #1 and #2 have. It'd seriously piss off girl #1, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't view our relationship as entirely exclusive, as evidenced by various reports I've had from my scouts in various nightclubs.

Opinions, ppl? #1, #2, #3, or a magical door #4?

Tapeworm

Iai
12-19-2004, 08:28 AM
The problem with #1 is that I'm afraid she's dependant on me to get her away from her ex. And she's still my friend, and I don't want to see her back with him. But to contrast that, she's always with this other guy.

Happymeal
12-19-2004, 08:51 AM

Yes, you're quite right there. I've never done drugs so I don't have any hands-on experience. But still, not just because of my Catholic orientation, I totally disapprove of drug addiction. Sure, you'll get a high everyday if you choose to, and make you feel good for a period of time. Sooner or later however, your body's gonna take its toll, and there's a possibility that you'll carry it(diseases, disorders, etc) over to your future kids. In the long run, it won't do anyone any good. I'm not angry at the people themselves who do drugs 'cause they're addicted, I'm angry at the decisions they make to get in that situation.

No, I was just saying it would piss her off, as a thought on why it's a bad idea. Not that it's my intention.

My brain hurts right now, because #1 and #2 are collaborating to confuse me and piss me off. That's why #3 appeals to me. It's an escape route.

Iai
12-19-2004, 09:03 AM
It all depends on whether #2 has decided she's ready for a relationship yet.

Ugh, I'm gonna go live in a cave and masturbate with rocks.

Better yet, do that.

..but I'd go with #2. I think you just have to give her a little push to get things going. It'll be slow, but hopefully it's gonna be steady for you two, and productive in the long run.

You could go with #1, but then it'll be a one-way relationship, methinks..

So I just got the score to "Twisted Nerve" by Bernard Herrmann, my favorite film composer. You know the theme to this one, Tarantino used it for the scene in "Kill Bill Volume 1" where Elle Driver is whistling as she walks through the hospital. The whole score is good.

Zappa

Am I the only person that didn't really like those films? I can see the score being good though...

I liked the movies. However, they didn't really have a "score," per se. The Rza wrote a tiny bit of original music for them, but the movie's music all together was almost all lifted from either other movie scores or pop music.

I got a creative player before I got my iPod. I will never buy an mp3 player from them again. I had to send it back after it crashed 5 or 6 times in the first few days. It would constantly freeze, and while the controls weren't terrible, once I got my iPod I realized how much they really did leave to be desired. I'm sure Creative has put out new models, and probably improved on some problems they've had, but the fact that they'd put out a useless piece of garbage like that at all is enough to turn me off of the company.

What model did you get at first?

I got an old Creative about 2 1/2 years ago, and it worked fine for me up until I bought a new one a couple of months ago (because the old one's batteries finally gave up, plus it was full after 18 months). My new one hasn't let me down so far, either. Conversely, all my experiences with iPods have been awful.

Odd.

Do you have to use the batteries that come with it? Can't you change them?

Bartender
12-21-2004, 11:33 AM
It came with two sets of lithium ion AAs (rechargeable), each good for a few hundred recharges, and lasting a decent amount of time. I suppose it wouldn't have been impossible to simply switch them out for other lithium AAs, though it was warned that to stick with the ones they came with (and others of the same make) provides for the least chance of problems. There was also obviously the option of buying new ones from Creative once the old ones finally gave up, but by then over two years had passed, and it was full anyway.

That's history and somewhat irrelevant now anyway, as the newer Creatives (Zen and Zen Extra) don't bear all that much resemblance to them. They're smaller (about the size of the iPod now, rather than the big, bulky ones of old, which was their chief disadvantage), and powered by a cell, rather than four individual AAs.
