I sometimes wish Rudd or Williams would do something different, but it doesnt take away from the music.

Ulysses
04-30-2005, 02:29 AM
The emphasis in AC/DC's music is the guitars and vocals not the drums and if you listen to it with this factor in mind, the same simple drum beat doesn't really get old, the heavy simple riffs, soloing and bon scott's vocals are enough to get me firing. If you want a different beat, complexity with cross-rhythms and drum soloing their are plenty of other bands out there to explore that emphasise the drums to a greater extent in their music.

I agree, rather than bashing accadaccas simplicity go listen to something more complex.

AMEN

I say AC/DC is one of the best bands and that they actually got us into the whole blues/rock mix. The way they mixed Buddy Holly and put some power chords into it is amazing. true it is repetitave but a lot of bands are. Many of their songs are a little boring but the solos are amazing.

Don't get me wrong, I love AC/DC, but still...Phil Rudd's basic Kick Snare Kick Snare gets old FAST.

It does. For the chorus of "You Shook Me All Night Long," it gets old pretty fast.

well actually its not really going to be well it might but Brian said in an interview "the boys have so much material it could be a double disk" he then got told off incase fans figre hey its going to be a double disk so it might not and it will only be the last if it doesnt do too good

Bon_Scottie
05-04-2005, 02:00 PM
They did say that they didn't want it to be just another album. Brian claimed that Malcolm and Angus are perfectionists, and have been in the studio constantly trying to perfect the new tunes.

As you said, Brian says that the boys have lots of material. Hopefully this means that AC/DC are back with the hard rocking riffs we've been used to. I doubt it'll be a double disk, but if everything is going as good as they claim it is, then you never know...

Who is your guy's favorite drummer phill rudd, simon wright, or chris slade? Mine is chris slade even though he wasnt with them very long.

punkster998
05-07-2005, 04:03 PM
Phil Rudd can hit the drums pretty ****ing hard if you ask me.

Bon_Scottie
05-07-2005, 04:34 PM
The drumming department when it comes to AC/DC never really needed much effort, but my favourite was probably Simon Wright, just because he also played with Dio.

Phil Rudd fits in with the bands main line up though. Simon Wright I suspect as a drummer always wanted to play those quick tempo hard rock beats, as he did with Dio.

Chris Slade is better than any other Ac Dc drummer. just listen to Thunderstruck. Yes, he is better than Phil Rudd

RNR
05-07-2005, 07:19 PM
AC/DC doesn't have very good drumming in general. But nobody listens to the drums on an Ac/dc song anyways ;)

AB/CD
05-08-2005, 05:29 PM
chris slade is just a normal drummer in all honesty he cant be that much better than phil rudd is phil can play the exact same things and the drums on thunderstruck r more basic than the majority of things phil can play and chris is still only a session player he played for tom jones **** sake

Ulysses
05-09-2005, 01:09 AM
Drum virtuosity is not all that relevant when considering AC/DC's sound. But I do prefer Rudd to Slade but its nothing to do with skill, the bald head just doesn't do it for me.

rippa32
05-09-2005, 01:16 AM

I wouldnt call them session drummers. Simon was with them for a while. And as for Slade, he would have been there a while if they hadn't decided to meet up with Phil again.

Ulysses
05-09-2005, 01:25 AM
Simon Wright ended up joining Dio because he always had an infatuation with them according to Malcolm. Slade, I don't know what happened to him..back to session drumming i suppose.

DVDs great i think so anyway and id seen majority of them videos before. disk 1 bon scott disk 2 brian johnson.

the bon scott 1 consists really of live shows like a live clip of high voltage dirty deeds fling thing/rocker all really good tho cos Bon Scott was amazing live. but the promo videos like jailbreak are really good to watch cos they are cheap but good.

disk 2 brian johnson all promo videos apart from like 2. 1 part is pretty much half the whole fly on the wall album cos it was a home video this dsik i prefer watching cos it is more interesting becos the videos have had more money spent on them and they are bright however if any1 can explain to me how a rocket goes through a tv and the tv is perfect in the song heatseeker i owuldnt mind knowing that.

I wonder if it will save thier career like The Razors Edge did.

I hope so, It would be good to see them raise the bar on Stiff Upper Lip, even though that album is alright I believe it lacks a rock n roll anthem, Stiff Upper Lip is the closest but isn't really overly great compared to some of their other material.

I think AC/DC is highly over-rated by the people at my school. Everyone likes them because they are what's "in." Angus is a great guitarist, but very over-rated. I didn't get the hype when I first listened to them, and I still don't get it.

I'd like to believe you, but I can't help thinking this will be their last album and they will just tour on it until they're heading to hang it up for good. Just my own speculation though.

Yeah I wouldnt be surprised. At least theyll go out on a very good note.

Everyone thought it was Strap It On for a while. That was later disregarded as false. But yeah should be good. I reckon itll do for em what Razors Edge did.

I sure hope so, and it would be a sensational way to go out if they did decide to end their careers after this upcoming album.

I have a feeling they will just due to pure age. It probably wont be official though. Theyll just stop making albums.

AC/DC i think are gods. Great riffs that are simple and they have a kick *** image and sound.

Its not all bad. this one will raise the tally of albums to 18. Thats more than most bands.

Besides, they've put out a lot of music anyway.

Me and my friends have been discussing AC/DC really heavily lately, an awesome band that I can never get tired of. Their simplicity makes them really fun to listen to. And got to love their dirty sense of humour.

only time AC/DC are gonna stop releasing new material and touring is when they feel they "arent cutting the mustard" so that day will probably never come album isnt being called strap it on nor is it going to be a double disk Brian Johnson said that as a joke because they had so much material written.

anyway every1s current fave songs at the minute? mine is little lover i think its different compared to what AC/DC normally done its a wee bit cheesy aswell just shows an all round different side to the band.
