Should be a GREAT night.

For my sister's 21st birthday party, her friend's dad (who owns a bus company) gave her a coach bus and bus driver for that Friday night so we all sat on the bus wit blinds in the windows and drank, went club hopping, etc.; like 35 of us on the bus.

We were all WASTED. Awesome night.

Gav maybe you get a jaded view of hardcore FSU out in Boston, but not all Hardcore is tough guy ****. I don't claim to be an expert on hardcore though it is probaly my favorite genre, but it seems that your view on hardcore appears to be that of Bridge 9/Rivalry bands and Tough Guy/Beat Down ****. Please do me a favor and don't tell attempt to educate me on a genre that I don't need education on, just because you like some shitty Italian/Swiss/(insert random European country) band with a 7" on Electric Human Project.

So Gav, yeah, shut the **** up please. :)
Rivalry is "tough guy/beat down ****"?

Maybe you should stick to being an expert on icp.

Cob: Not a burn at all. Ben's being dumb.

I agree with you about the whole "OMFG EMO IS HARDCORE" thing. It's like, Christ, you know what I mean and I know it's a subgenre, stfu and die.

Bob always gets what I mean and never fights. Cob for mod!

Gav I know what the hell Emo is god damn it. You were treating me like a ****ing two year old. I'm being dumb? God damn dude, grow the hell up and learn that A) I was being friendly but serious B) Giving me characteristics of a genre of music that I primarily listen to is considered an education.

Yes, I did have their disco on my comp but I got a new computer shortly after receiving that disco and never listened to it much.

I hope you like them but because you like their myspaces doesn't mean ****. Go buy an album by each band. Get Document 8 by pg.99 and (even though I really hate Hot Cross) get Cryonics by Hot Cross, then realize that Saetia destroys Hot Cross and buy A Retrospective.

CabbageStabbage
09-16-2006, 08:20 PM
Hey, hey, hey, no need to hate. I'm not a myspace kid, I don't even have an account on that site. It's just a place that is a legal or legal-ish way to find new bands. Same thing with purevolume.

I'll probably get Saetia's "A Retrospective" once I get money. I originally liked them because their singer's voice is kinda funny and the bass sounds exactly like mine, but now I genuinely like the few songs I heard so far.

I'll buy other albums once I start to find something else that I really enjoy. Thx for reccomending albums.

Anyway, I don't know how relevant this is, but Norma Jean, Between the Buried and Me aand some other bands including The Fully Down are coming to town. (I saw the fully down at my high school once and the bassist hit the singer in the face with his headstock, it was pretty cool). Think I should go?

shai hulud owns.

college is way way better than high school. mainly because you get to take the classes you want (especially after the first two years), the teachers actually know what they are talking about, and you really learn stuff. i learned very little from high school, most of it was just wasted time. as far as the social aspect, for me, that got real old real fast. there are so many worthless people that have no greater ambition in life than to party as many nights a week as possible, and i really don't enjoy being around them.

Brain Toad
09-18-2006, 10:18 PM
OMG I post.

I had to take math in college, unless you took advanced courses in high school, I think you at least have to take 1 college math course, but it varies by state. I had to take two, Inter. Algebra (which is like Alg. 2 in high school) because I ****ed up in high school and I'm taking Stat now.

College is so much better than high school. There is "more" homework per se, but it's meaningful and contributes to the class. High school homework is busy work college homework will help you better understand the concepts your prof has given you, so it doesn't feel like as much. Plus most is essays and essays are damn easy.

90% of the profs treat their students with respect and equality, which is really nice. But there is the 10% that are snobbish or should be teaching high school, or should be thrown off a bridge.

Speaking of college, I am doing that presentation on emo on Friday. We were put into groups on Friday and I asked my group what they thought of the idea and they were really interested. I'm going to start gathering the music for it and start writing a bit. I'll post what I'm doing as a finish for any last minute touches.

I have that Syncopatic Synthetic album. Vocals are pretty annoying.

Really, I love the vocals, that's probably my favorite cd by them other than The Killer was in the Government Blankets. Maybe you could listen to that one.

I've been listening to Orchid a lot lately. I only have Chaos Is Me and Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow!, though. What am I missing? Someone hook me up.

You are missing A LOT. Let me go grab my copy of Gatefold and I'll rip it to the cpu and then send it to you. You should also download Totality because it has all the tracks from all splits and 7"s.

Those are the only two albums I have by them as well. I like what I've heard from them, but I've yet to sit down and give them a proper listen.

Does anyone like Ed Gein? If so, have you or anyone you know seen them live and can say they are good? They are probably the best band coming to my area this year and I may want to go.

Yaphet Kotto sucks. Atleast what I've heard, that is.

They are so good.

If Ed Gein were emo, I'd talk about them in the emo thread, but I will say I'm seeing them in a few weeks with Heavy Heavy Low Low.
