Iv been doing it for a year now. its alot of fun booking your own shows, but you need cash, and i dont have that, so i tend to co-book shows with people who have the money :) Its easy for me, because i know like every ska band in ontario so i just email em up and be like PLAY FORRR MEE. then i whore the show as much as possible. most shows we break even, but we have lost up to 200$ before, its hard. but so much fun.

Before I start, let me say I started as a bassist, but because the kid that plays bass now couldnt shape his wee tiny hands into chords, he plays simple basslines.

Everything I know on guitar I have made, and I decided to learn a few simple songs on guitar. They were all by ear, because its actually fun that way. And I have come to an astonishing conclusion.

Bike Scene is the most fun song ive ever played ever of all time.

That was surprisingly enjoyable. I recommend not having such a n00b recording method and getting a bassist to make your songs more br00tal. At least you should play bass on non-live recordings so you can have better presentation on myspace songs.

For the Hardcore/Emo section there hasnt been a hell of a lot of talk about either lately. Slayer, rap, black sabbath i have no problem with them but they dont apply. But seriously the only way i can see rap even somewhat relating to hardcore is yung joc (spelling?) is straight edge and made many attempts at starting hardcore bands and failed so he took up rapping instead.

Rap has always been a part of this forum. It's a combination of hardcore breeds a lot of wigger kids and hardcore and rap have some common roots.

yeah I suppose youre right. Plus a lot of hardcore and emo bands do have rap songs and rap remixes and all that fun stuff.

i remember that too. i just think people need to get back into it sorta. there's not much excitement with bands and stuff anymore. people have to spread around new bands. breath life back into this thread.

Nah. I've explained it before but around the time the singer of Ten Grand/The Vida Blue died, they went on a hiatus. They're back now and are writing more ****. I talked with one of them members and they said it's going to be a lot less screamy so I'm excited to see what they do.
