DFel, team is stacked.

I hate playing Atlanta on Madden, because the AI for defense is retarded, and if the quarterback runs, they still stick to covering their man until the QB is well past the line of scrimmage. Seriously, I shattered a controller (and i mean i relly broke it into small pieces) after i smashed is against the ground because Vick got a touchdown on me from his own 40. I got heated.

Ya, EA is good but a lot of their AI is wack. In FIFA I can't stand how they switch to the next closest player because visually people look at the screen from foreground to background, they don't magically look for whichever player is spatially and mathematically closest. So I'm looking for a close player in the foreground to cut off this one guy and end up switching to some guy who's technically a shred closer and start running the wrong direction with him.

Seriously, effed up.

I hope in this years madden they make superstar mode better. My friend said in the college version of superstar mode (whatever its called, race for the heisman) they make you take tests in your 'major', and if you fail, you cant play that week because of grade restrictions. But he said the tests are easy, and if you dont know, you have unlimited time to look the answers up.

Arena football is retarded. It has the same flaw as the XFL, in that instead of concentrating on the sport itself, they try to make everything all macho and Xtr3m3. Even the video game of it sucked.

But, XFL > Arena for the mere fact that XFL had a dude named He Hate Me, who ended up winning some sports illustrated poll for best rivals (rofl).

EDIT: So my borough chief of police said he was so fed up with how downhill the area has gone in the last few years, he ordered state assisstance and had a big crackdown on drugs today. Signs popped up around street corners where drug dealers hang about alerting people that drug dogs would be used against them, and helicopters were circling around us all day. Then there was all kind of screaming I heard on my way to the store near my house, but im not sure if its related.

FFTL and Underoath arent really scene, theyre just like, for fake scene kids. Scene kids with really stupid hair and ugly clothes that arent even part of the scene but call themselves scene anyways only listen to *insert every band justin has ever made a thread on here*. All the kids that listen to FFTL and Underoath think they are 'emo', and probably have no clue of what the scene is, and are just as fake as 'scene' kids, but just a lot more annoying and less pretentious.

It pisses me off that 'scene' has come to refer to any gay band that calls themself metalcore. Scene is supposed to be about the real hardcore bands around an area, and the people that go there ecause they like the music, not because they want to name drop the band on their myspace in a bulletin to all of their 3468 friends.

It's all about context. "Scene" can be used to mean that if you're talking about Punk/Emo/Hardcore. "Scene" can come to mean all those gay bands when you're talking about all that gay music.

It just depends.

'Scene kids' arent part of any scene. But like the Neeshmeister said, it depends on the context. Faggy kids with really, really bad taste in music and clothes that all listen to JFAC and think its cool to use as many vulgarities as possible for shock effect (even though its not at all shocking, just stupid)...those people are shallow and arent in any scene. They dont go to shows. Their 'scene' is in their massive egos, thinking theyre cutting edge or something, when they really are just following whatever thing they see somebody on myspace do. Id like to find the one person who does all the scene trends first, just because he probably doesnt get any credit for all of the stupid things hes done since the entire scene fad started, mostly because in a matter of seconds, through the wonders of the internet, everybody looks like him and he probably blends right in. Most of these people think The Chariot is a hardcore band.

Now when you talk about the hardcore scene in places that actually have a hardcore scene, its all tough guy crews tearing **** up with their sXe baseball bats. Still, they listen to hardcore beause its what they like, not because they feel the need to be on top of every trend or because they need to say they like every generic br00tal band ever.

i've wanted to read atlas shrugged for a while now. her philosophy is interesting.

i think what makes scene kids what they are is that they care about appearances more than they do the music. thats what makes them fake. but kids like that are everywhere. like the preppy kids with their fake surfer fashion, or the wigger kids that try to look like thugs even though they've never been out of the suburbs.

no, i completely changed my lifestyle. i choose what i eat depending on its nutrition, not taste. i get 200 to 300 grams of protein a day and like 3,500 to 4,000 calories. at the same time, i eat no transfat, and very very little saturated fat. i take creatine, a multivitamen, and essential fatty acids. i don't cheat. i don't eat desserts or any of that stuff. i don't skip meals. if friends want to meet or something and i haven't eaten, then i tell them i'll meet them in a half hour. that kind of stuff.
i work out on a strict schedule that i never deviate from. i have a workout routine that is based on a lot of research, scientific evidence, and personal trial and error, not gym myths or what my big friend told me to do. and it isn't even that hard or time consuming, its about working out smarter not harder.

basically, i made it a priority in my life, and now it doesn't even bother me to do any of that stuff. and it is really worth it. i'm still underweight at 190 lbs, but i have very little body fat, if i had a normal amount of body fat i would be like 210. all it takes is dedication and time. i love not being skinny, i won't ever let myself go back. i can't believe what i used to look like when i see pictures of myself, at the time i didn't realize how skinny i really looked. i could go on and on about how happy i am to not be skinny any more.

ya, its been so overshadowed by the 60s and 70s. everybody just sees the 1950s as the birth of the suburbs and consumerism, but they don't realize that even as it was beginning people were already rebelling against it. i think the later countercultures took it too far and got too far away from the roots, like the substance had been lost.

Awhile back, I went a scenster band rampage, just to see what all the talk was about. I tried out Underoath, Fear Before, and Every Time I Die, and maybe something els.e All of them were really bad, but Fear Before had really good music with a good mix of screamy vocals and whiny pop-punk vocals

But actually, it has come to my attention that you can do the voices of pretty much every emo band you listen to. I don't have your screaming ability, but I might work on it. i didn't steal that from justin.

get a sense of humour, honestly i don't remember there being a rule that said threads cannot have jokes.

it isn't your position to analyze why the threads were made either, but obviously there would be no joke without a good band that warants discussion.

Well then if you want to talk about bands then talk about them. Jokes are fine but when it's obvious that the thread is going to be about the joke and not the band then it's done. In your case you started two similar joke threads for two different bands back to back. I have a plenty good sense of humor but I also have a brain. It's about discretion man.

it isn't your position to analyze why the threads were made either

So you're saying I'm somehow magically not a mod?

Matt?
07-27-2006, 05:18 PM
what i'm saying is you should've at least let the threads develop, no one even had a chance to contribute to what could've been good threads. left alone as you closed them they do look pretty bare of talk and discussion.

it's not like threads are made every five minutes, have some fun.

Because they're dumb. All youre trying to do is make a joke that isn't even funny, and you've lifted it from cracky in the first place.

The main point of the argument should be the fact that there was indeed a funny joke that was made by Dfelon.

Apparently my friend's friend went there and she found a photograph of an old man on the ground and she took it with her. Then she went home and what not. At night her mom walked in her room to check up on her and there was the old man looking over the daughter. I guess the old man appeared several other times that they needed to get help.

slsk sucks for anything mainstream though. On those random occasions when I really need a Thin Lizzie song something bad, it completely fails me.

You can get mainstream, it just takes some work.

I've got a Thin Lizzy album, maybe I have the song you need.
