Anyway, what bands are you guys diggin' right now? I'm currently really into Orchid, pg.99, Native Nod, and TKC.
-Gav
YES!!!!!!! NATIVE NOD!!!!!!!!!
Aside from them, I've been in a glassjaw mood, and i cant stop being a homo and listening to the new Taking Back Sunday.
EDIT: that band on the last page is good, but vocals are a big part of music to me. I dont like a lot of bands because i dont like the vocals.

hm i haven't been listening to anything either, but i've been consistently watching this live xiu xiu vid i found on google.
man it's so sick, they play over over, apistat commander, clowne towne, jennifer lopez ( i don't even like that song but live it's sick), and i luv the valley, crank heart and something else i think
i haven't listened to any emo in a while tbh. the last time i listened to emo would probably be belle epoque or mihai edrisch
Dude, how's I luv the valley oh live? The recording scream is haunting.
Matt?
05-17-2006, 03:04 PM
it's pretty sick the only thing that i don't like about it is the cool bass riff is taken out. it's cool because at all those random scream parts (THIS IS THE WORST VACATION EVER IM GONNA CUT OPEN YOUR FOREHEAD WITH A ROOFING SHINGLE) caralee yells too
and dude suha live is so sick, i hate it on knife play but live at the chorus there's this siick hand clap thing that is like wicked nasty and awesome.
i have a really good live bootleg (audio) that i can send if you want
i only find myself listening to the live bootlegs. i need to see them live but they're touring europe now :-/

Kayo Dot - Choir of the Eyes, Dowsing Anemone in Copper Tongue
Off Minor - Innominate, The Heat Death of the Universe, Problematic Courtship
Time of Orchids - Sarcast While
Cyne - Evolution Fight
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Pram - Dark Island
I've been digging these lately. Kayo Dot and Off Minor are known here so I won't talk about them. Time of Orchids is a crazy progressive heavy weird band, I'd kind of rate them as a serious Mr. Bungle, they have five vocalists on that record and it's really interesting. Cyne is a rap group, I did a review of the album awhile ago, it's slowly becoming my favorite rap album that I own. Most people know Buckley, and Pram is some weird post-rock multi-insturmental **** that is ****ed up.

Shady Jeff: Lets go right now!
J-dog:
I look alive, I'm dead inside. My heart has holes and black blood flows.
We'll do some drugs, well fall in love and get ****ed up while the world
just shrugs. With no thought Logically. Were wondering the streets so
aimlessly. I hate to see these kids just being put down so painlessly.
And people say you Dye your hair and wear tight jeans, that
doesnt mean. That you cant scream, or like loud noise, you got a choice,
you have a voice. And just because you showed no love and hate on us
you ****ed our trust. Now watch we thrust this Knife Called Lust into
my Chest until it Bust.
Tha Producer:
[Chorus]
This love , This Hate
Is burning me away
(Shady Jeff: is burning me away)
It's hard to face that we're all the same
This love, This Hate
Is Burning me away
(Shady Jeff: is burning me away)
It's harder times like these that never change (Shady Jeff: That never change)
Charlie Scene:
mad at the fact your dad is an addict, your friend takes pills he thinks it cures sadness,
I'm not here to attack or make you kids panic,
but i just think it's tragic the way these kids have it.
and everybody sins and it all begins, it goes back around, nobody ever wins.
and you stab yourself in the back, EVERYBODY JUST RELAX! it all just hits so close to home,
we all got friends but we stand alone, and your on your own from a broken home,
you keep the truth inside and it stays unknown. Nostalgia hit and its time to quit,
and everybody acts like it don't mean ****. a
and your friend will stab you just to **** some girl,
put your hands in the air and scream **** THE WORLD!!!
[Chorus]
Bridge:
Tha Producer and Charlie Scene: Let go
Tha Producer: I'll bring you closer
Tha Producer and Charlie Scene: Right now
Charlie Scene: I'll hold on tightly
Tha Producer and Charlie Scene: Let go
Tha Producer: We're going no where
Tha Producer and Charlie Scene: Somewhere
Charlie Scene: And things aren't over
Tha Producer: Harder times like these!
Tha Producer and Da Kurlzz and Shady Jeff: Growing up on the streets!
Tha Producer: Harder times like these!
Tha Producer and Da Kurlzz and Shady Jeff: I'll put you back on your feet!
[Chorus]
Ending:
Charlie Scene:
And I fall to the ground with my teardrops
And I get lost every time my heart stops
Tha Producer:
This love this hate is burning me away

"Some Natures Catch No Plagues" is up there with "An Open Letter" and "Postlapsaria" as my favorite Saetia songs.
deadohiosky9

Postlapsaria is the best--it's very strong lyrically and probably their strongest musically. People jizz over Some Natures Catch No Plagues because the emotion is especially blatant. It's more emotional than most of their other songs and it has the whole "there is no happy here" part that is just very blatantly said and it makes people jizz all over the ceiling, or shoot blanks. Depending on how much you like it.

Lost Gray picturesofmypaststaingreenerpasturesofmyfuture,

Thats probably one of my favorite lines in any song. Its just so perfect. The word 'pasture' sounds similar to 'future', 'picture', and 'past', so.....
"lost gray pictures of my past stain greener pastures of my future" is just phonetically perfect.

I have Anasarca. But they didn't really "rip off" Anasarca, rather Anasarca were an influence on them, which is what Jamie told me. You'll notice some slight similarities in their riffage but thats about it. Anasarca is basically another one of those 90's emo bands, like Native Nod-esque.
Cobert: Billy's good with his language.
Notres Langues Nous Trompent, Venus And Bacchus and Postlapsaria are really the only ones that stand out for me. The Sweetness And the Light is kinda cool too. Oh and An Open Letter.

Moss Icon are really unique. They have awesome lyrics...if you go to songmeanings you can read most of em.

05-20-2006, 10:41 PM
It seems like some of those lyrics are incomplete. I distinctly remember a part in "Im back sleeping or fuc'king of something" (the raddddest song ever) that said somehting about 'remembering sitting on a park bench with your sister', and a lot more stuff about a fire and sitting in the back of a truck. But they still close in most places.
