I only smoked weed but I quit. I drank a little, too, but I smoked weed like every single day. I'd wake up, bake, go to school, come home, do homework, and bake for the rest of the night with my friends. It was pretty cool but my grades started to suffer and I figured it just wasn't for my anyway so I stopped.

Same here. I used to smoke almost daily when my friend lived with me. But smoking weed does effect the way some people react and think, and I started to notice it, so I quit. I've never drank often, but whenever I did, I'd get wasted. I found out about some things I did while i was drunk, that I don't remember, so I don't drink anymore.

I remember one time I blazed at my friends house and we played Halo Live and it was like my first or second time playing Halo. I wake up the morning and I was like, "I was supposed to be shooting the guys with the blue arrows above their heads right?"

Weed does indeed rule but drinking is so much better. They are really fun when combined. Actually weed goes with anything, weed and ecstasy, weed and coke, weed and lsd, weed and shrooms. It's the perfect compliment to any drug induced fun.

So in other drug related news my parents drug tested me and I failed. :(

I saw Thursday last night. They were so sick.

I went crowd surfing (no idea how...I got thrown up) and got to the front. Geoff passed me the mic for a second and I sang along with Paris in Flames.

Then later I randomly got thrown up and as I was being taken town, Geoff reached out his hand but the bouncer twirled me around so my foot slammed into Geoff's face. I chipped his tooth. I felt wicked bad but after the show he said it was totally cool and he knew it wasn't my fault.

Wicked awesome guy. Sick show, too.

I wasn't impressed with their new album, I don't think it compares to past efforts although the lyrics pwn. The lyrics have always pwned though. Maybe after I listen to it more I'll start to like it more. Sounds like you had fun, Gav. I can't wait to see them.

haha. I listened to a bunch of old punk that my cousin got me into. Then he started getting into hardcore and I followed. We split paths though when he bought Saetia's "A Retrospective" around when it first came out. He didn't really like it and I ended up with it. At first, I didn't really like it... probably because it wasn't anything like The Misfits or Minor Threat, so I didn't like Saetia for a while. Then I got into bands like Refused and Thursday and then I got bored and put Saetia back in and it was amazing. My cousin still perfers his old punk... besides now he's getting into country and nu-metal.

I'm sorry... but I also think that grind is one of the most talentless genres around. :/ Sure, it's fun to listen to at times because some songs are just badass or funny. There isn't really much talent put into it though. I'm sure anyone could make a grind album.

EDIT - I ended up getting into metalcore and indie after emo, which seems a little weird. I hated metalcore for the longest time though, because I thought every metalcore band sounded like Atreyu or It Dies Today... then I found Converge. :)

Saetia's newer stuff, like their last 7" before they broke up, is really hardcore and you can tell. The older stuff, like Venus and Bacchus, is emo though. I think that they started out as a emo band then grew more into a hardcore outfit as time when by.

I AM HERE TO TELL MY EPIC STORY

So I was sitting in bed watching TV when I realised I had to take a Nintendo (lololol). I went up and journied through the hallway to the bathroom. I unsheathed my legendary manlyness and looked at it shimmer in the flourescent lighting. I lifted my head up, looking forward into the wall to concentrate with all of my might. When I started unleashing the monster within myself, I did not hear the sound of liquid converging with liquid; rather the sound of me ruining my wall. I looked down at Starscream (the name of my weiner) and saw that although he was looking straight down into the wet abyss of the bathroom utilities, he was having a battle with the wall to the North East.

So yeah, I pissed diagonally and all over my wall. Sup.

Alright I'm gone again.

Hey everyone -

This is something we have been sitting on for a while, but now we can make it public. We are proud to say that we are now part of the Hope Division/Equal Vision Records roster. The label made the announcement this afternoon and we are excited to be able to announce it ourselves.

The official release date for our next full length, Risk Revival, is October 3. As we have said 23203847 times already, we are recording in June with Mike Hill, and we will master the record at the end of June.

A tour is planned for late September through early November, so get ready.

Thanks to our drummer Greg for putting up with the chore of releasing his own band's records for the last 5 years.

We are thrilled to be working with EVR as they have been so awesome to us already.

More soon,
Billy

deadohiosky9
05-02-2006, 07:04 PM
I saw that email and cried. It's very disappointing to me that Hot Cross signed to EVR. Not because EVR is a bad label or anything, but they have some s'hitty bands. EVR is a pretty mainstream label too and I'd always valued Hot Cross as being an underground band, which really made them mean more, to me at least. Now I know I'll be seeing scene f'ucks wearing Hot Cross shirts cause they like Fall of Troy and like the similar riffs in newer Hot Cross songs. They will have no knowledge of "Cryonics" or "A New Set of Lungs" or even know the word "DIY" or "Emo". That what really sickens me. Hot Cross had plenty of popularity in this scene, they don't really need anymore "recognition". They are pretty damn popular, but releasing a record on EVR is releasing them to a whole new scene, one that I never saw Hot Cross in, and don't feel they belong in. I also think its kinda weird that Greg would sign to another label when he runs Level-Plane...but then again he signed Mikoto...so who knows. I'm just disappointed, I'm sure the new record will be great and I'm def gonna buy it and won't stop liking their music, but this just feels like a loss to me.

EDIT: I hear Greg will still be releasing the vinyl on Level Plane, and Hope Division is a sublabel of EVR, so I guess its not that bad then.

MY EPIC JOURNEY TO GET THE NEW TOOL ALBUM

So yes, as Gav stated, I ran. Dispite my bad foot and my lazyness and weight, I sprinted to Target, which is a good two miles or so away. I ran inside and as I just entered the store, a wigger who goes to my school stopped me and tried to start conversation. I told him to **** himself and kept journying forth. I got to the CD section and looked at the new releases and did not see the new Tool album. I frantically screamed "WHAT THE ****" as loud as I could. Someone who worked there came to assist me and asked what the problem was. The situation went something like this:

Guy: Uh, is everything okay?
Me: IS EVERYTHING OKAY?! WHERE THE **** IS THE NEW TOOL ALBUM?!
Guy: It's not here?
Me: IF IT WAS WOULD I BE ASKING YOU?!
Guy: Did you check the T's?
Me: I DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME!
Guy: Well if you want I ca-
Me: SHUT THE **** UP!

I ran and grabbed the album and held it in my hands as the worked just stared at me. He came over and said "If you do not calm down I'll have to call security." I sprinted to the cash registers. There were two open. Each had 10+ people. I waited for one group. Another. Then a family got to the front and unloaded more food than a Texas McDonalds has ever sold. That was it.

Me: MOOOOOOOOOOVE
Everyone: /stares
Father: Ummm.... Well... you can go ahead of us.

I get to the front and the lady rings up my cd. I throw a $20 in her face and run out of the store and sprinted home. Here I am.
