To be honest I don't really understand what you're saying. What does it have to do with genres? I can see problems with similar artists if people add Ashlee Simpson as a similar artist to Meshuggah, and God knows it would probably happen, so it would have to be heavily moderated. But where do genres come into play? Using Brand New as example, people who think they are "emo" would put similar artists as Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 etc. This is correct. They wouldn't put bands like Moss Icon or Hot Springs ("real" emo bands), right? So where is the genre confusion? :confused: Even if they have the wrong concept of emo, the similar artists will still be correct. (of course we have to watch out for them trying to change brand new's genre, for example, but we have to do that now anyway)

yeah that's what i've always done but my uncle was like "hey fingernails are better" one time, and then some doodz in the guitar forum were like yo we play classical and we use fingernails

prettya lame actualy, and the nails only grow on my fretting hand for some reason anyways


but i started recording a demo today, i got a guitar track a bass track, and a drum track but i have to redo drums because i was way out of time because my headphones wouldn't play loud enough to hear. sounds pretty good though, and i was lazy so i just used the first take of each thing, but i'm redoing drums tommorow. i'm pretty pumped, and i'm doing vocals tommorow too

get Audacity, its the best free program for recording shi't.

what id do is i buy a portable four or six track, something you can put bateries in, and then run it through audacity for editing and ****

you can go straight into audacity but i just find it hard to get my instruments to my computer or vice versa

ah, my computer mic rests on my CPU and my guitar amp is like less than a foot away from it, so its pretty accessible for me.

i have some friends who actually payed to go into the studio and they came out with this great quality demo, but they sucked anyways so it was a waste of money i guess but still, it sounded pretty awesome.

So tonight I heard Panic! At the Disco for the first time...wow. They're horrible and their singer sounds just like the dude from Fall Out Boy.

On a better note, Ash, got any more bands that sound like On the Might of Princes? DFelon reccomended this band Tara Melos to me and I'm not sure what I think about them yet...it's pretty good, though.

Anyway, any recccomendations, Ash or anyone?
