Because I don't want to?
But basically, as Neeshee said.
Neeshacker: just call em noobs
Neeshacker: just say it
Neeshacker: YOU ARE ALL ****ING NOOBS
Neeshacker: THATS WHY
Neeshacker: THATS THE JOKE
Good job getting someone else to do your dirty jobs.
... What? Him and I were talking about it and I just decided to post that. How's that getting someone to do my "dirty jobs."? He said the joke and I posted it so everyone could read it.

Let me add to the 'noobs' that most of you don't have any idea what this is all about and just run about, buy every 'cool' album, wear the 'cool' clothers, tell everyone about the 'cool' bands only you know ,etc.
Seriously, **** that mindset. Hardcore is made by us, for us and I think we need to do everything we can to keep it a counter-culture and not make it into a subculture.

What the hell are you talking about? This place isn't like that at all.
If we did it to be cool, we wouldn't be listening to this kind of music.

I still don't believe you know what you're talking abuot. So explain.
If you guys think we are such noobs, then why aren't you trying to help that instead of acting like you're some sort of emo elitists.
Nobody here listens to certain music just to suck up to you guys, so I don't even know where that idea came from.

I'm not some kind of 'emo eilitist' and I got into the music by myself so maybe you could just make an effort and check out as many bands as you can brohammed
Special Brew

I do . I've checked out nearly every band I've sen mentioned from here and all the other sites I've read, if I could find stuff by them online. I got into emo by myself, and most others here did as well.
You guys are acting like elitists, when you aren't any better than we are.
I'm not trying to start **** in here or anything, but I don't see how you got the idea that anyone here just listens to music to seem cool.

I can't remember ever acting elitist. I guess it's a sort of catch-all phrase nowadays.
Look dude, it seems like most kids just live to consume here, as if they have no idea what's behind it all. Seriously dude, that really ****ing sucks. It's not acting elitist, it's having love for the game I guess.

I'm pretty sure it's right. Listen to the song closely. The only part that's weird is the last part before you switch from the 13 to the 12 on the A string but if you single out just the notes on the A string you can hear him play three.

I'm ashamed. :-(
Anyways, what are the five essential "emocore" bands? I mean the more hardcore rlated stuff from emo's earlier days. I'm not sure on band lifespans, but I was thinking something like Heroin, Rites of Spring, Moss Icon, Embrace, Dag Nasty.
I'm sure there will be some disagreements with those bands, because I'm not very educated on the evolution of the genre and stuff. basically, give me five emocore bands that would best represent everything that the genre is about. I'm trying to stay away from any of the chaotic or really screamy stuff.

Rites of Spring, Moss Icon are definite musts! I think the Hated are a good example of sort of post RoS, pre Moss Icon style stuff (they're really really really really good, check it out!). After that came the whole Indian Summer-type wave, so I guess they'd be a good band to check out. Also Embassy, Evergreen. So today my american history teacher was absent, so everyone had to go to this lesbian biology teachers class. So, i went to a lunch period im not in and then went to the concert band directors class full of mostly idiots that he has before band at the end of the day.

Hell naw. There are 4 types of lesbians: Hot n' young (and usually only while they're drunk), ugly n' young (usually perfectly sober),man-hating uber lesbos, and creepy old lady's.
They both fall in the last category.

I coached my friend through her transformation into lesbianism.
She dumped her boyfriend of 3 and a half years because he started looking like a chick.
Her "girlfriend" looks like an utter man.
She isn't very hot.
She's turned in an uber lesbian, not necessarily man hating.
Just very annoying and all of a sudden, very p.c.

I, for some reason, was watching 'americas next top model' on VH1, and all of the chicks on there were kinda ugly. The gay photographer guy was actually more feminine than some of them.
My one friend fr a while thought she was totally bisexual, and i was just like "you got drunk and made out with your friend at a bowling alley. Your not bisexual". Meh, she wasnt, i was right.
Does anyone know any emo CD's that would be found in a major chain record store like FYE? I need some new stuff.

Thank you for the recommendation.
EDIT- I just found the "Our Miracle Point Of Contact" 12". It was made back when they were Vida Blue. I'll probably end up buying this one since it's from earlier in their career and the earlier stuff always seems to be better.

So. I finally have some money for some damn vinyl.
Now, could someone suggest me a emo or screamo band that I haven't heard of because I'm getting sick of listening to the same bands over and over.
Saetia, Indian Summer, Kite-Flying Society (I heard they're coming out with a disco? When is this?), pagenintynine, Impetus Inter, Mohinder, Jihad, Policy of Three, Hoover, Heroin, Inkwell
That's all the emo/screamo I have on my computer. Thanks to whomever recommends me to whatever. :)
Neil Perry/Kaospilot split is an album I believe you would like, also check Julia and Angel Hair.

There is also a now-defunct screamo band called Hassan I Sabbah. They were active around 2000-2001, and released a 7" on Robodog Records and a split 7" with Usurp Synapse. Their drummer is now in Unearth.

They were awesome but not as a amazing as I thought they were going to be. Their sound was kind of weird but Drew did all the technical riffing and screaming at the same time perfectly. They're were about 20 people who knew the words for them and were into them and all the rest of the scene kids/girls didn't really like them. I had a lot of fun doing the singalongs, I looked Drew in the eyes for the "A murmur from the ruins echoes softly" part in "Interview At The Ruins." I love that song, they drew out the ending and the had a sample for the spoken part in the background during the middle of the song. It was very haunting and good. Altogether an awesome set. I got a hoodie, pin and sticker and I inquired about whether or not they were going to re-release the self-titled CD and the merch dude told me Hyperrealist is releasing a 12" with all the self-titled songs plus the 2 from the pageninetynine split.

I like Signals. I guess I'll post their setlists in this thread too. Both nights The Blood Brothers were terribly mediocre. They essentially played the same set both nights, all Crimes stuff. I kind of accepted the fact that they weren't going to play any early TAIR stuff and despite the fact that I like Crimes alot, it's lame to play all stuff from that CD. We left during their set last night because we knew they would play the same set. Thursday laid waste to the rest of the bands both nights, they were so good.

In Full Collapse they list Saetia and some other good bands as influences.

On war all the time they list good charolotte. That confuses me.

Wow... are you serious? That's kinda... shocking.
How do you feel about the new Thursday album? Had anyone heard of the new material? Are they getting worse like how every other band seems to be?
UnderOath said that they were going to go back to how they used to sound... and, it's worse than their poppy stuff. Hopefully Thursday isn't trying to improve but in turn, make themselves worse.

The only stuff I have heard of by the Blood Brothers is BPIB and Crimes is This Adultery is Ripe actually good that you are dissapointed they didn't play off it or is more white belt crap that you just happen to have an ear for, CB?
No, This Adultery Is Ripe is nothing like the music they make now. It was spastic, raw and frantic.
Oh, and I have an hear for white belt stuff? You listen to The Locust and Daughters fag.

Judging from the **** I heard live the last two nights, their new album is going to be a lot better than War All The Time.

I was thinking you might take that the wrong way, I meant is it a band that you just happen to like that is white belt. Yeah I like the Locust but **** Daughters.

Nice. I dont think war all the time was really that bad, it was just nothing near anything else theyve made.

Everything they've made is spectacular, WATT just has a couple problems that make it a step backwards from Full Collapse. I mean, I think it's a given that they will never make anything as good as Full Collapse but they are going to make amazing albums.

WATT was crap why do you guys like it, it was a complete leap backwards from everything they had done. post-hardcore was traded for pop song structures with some PH traits. from what the demos have shown it sounds like they are redeeming themselves slowly but surely.

"For The Workforce, Drowning" is one of their best songs. "Marches And Manuevers" and "Signals Over The Air" are also two fantastic songs. It was poppier but I had more of a problem with the fact that they tried to hard to write these emo anthems ("War All The Time," "Falling Bomb [very good song but they did try a little hard]").

Whatever I mean if you guys like it that's cool but I know personally I couldn't stand that album.
Ben, War All the Time was a fantastic album. I'd be willing to bet money if you hadn't heard Full Collapse or Waiting before hearing War All the Time, you'd **** yourself over it. Just 'cause it's not as good as the previous albums doesn't mean it's not good.

I heard War All the Time first, my first Thursday song was that video Signals Over the Air I couldn't stand it. I went back and listened to Full Collapse later on a reccomendation of a friend and after hearing Understanding in a Car Crash. I have not heard Waiting, I didn't even knew it existed until now.
Yeah, which is why he sound send it to me.

I got ka-pwned. But did you actually listen to the whole album before judging it or just a few songs?

I actually believe it to be like this:
Waiting > WATT > Full Collapse.
I can listen to Waiting and WATT alot more than Full Collapse.
They're new stuff seems to be going in both directions of Full Collapse and WATT. They had this awesome poppy song (the 1st new one) and the other 2 were crushing.
Actually, all 3 were hard-hitting, just the other two moreso than the first because the first had a very noticeable hook to it.
Edit: I forgot about the last new one. I think I blocked it out because I was behind some fat kid who thought he knew all the instruments to it whenever they had a little solo part and he would play the air-guitar/piano/drums/harpischord/skin flute to the songs.
But the last song was awesome.
It's going to be a really good album.

Waiting just pours emotion into your ears.
exactly, thats what makes it so great. but they did progress a lot musically on full collapse. and i agree with cb and wow, the reason most people were dissapointed with war all the time was because it couldn't measure up to full collapse, but its still amazing. i can't wait for this new one. thursday is without a doubt my favorite band.

Triac
Crestfallen
Circle takes the square
City Of Caterpillar
Majority rule
Pageninetynine
Strike Anywhere (they cancelled)
That was the line up for the last pageninetynine show. How ****ing incredible would that have been? I found that on their site. There's also something on the site where the dude mentions that he can't stand the music of Circle Takes The Square (either them or Mannequin, it's hard to tell)
