I don't see why doing weed is retarted, unless you're really anti-drug. Hell, caffeine is worse on your body than weed.

Here is a man who isn't brainwashed by the bull that we are fed from 1st grade through 6th.

^hardly. You thinkin' Acid?

Shrooms **** you up way more than pot, that is true, but on both accounts, the high [from shrooms] isn't as pure feeling, it makes you feel kind of.... controlled? But weed is like a freeing experience, and you really notice how signifiganct everything is. And then of course if you do shrooms enough you're legally insane (with acid it's only 3 times I think).

No, shrooms **** you up way more than pot.

No, if you get psychedelic shrooms (The right ones) you are in for no more symptoms or effects than you are with weed. Flash backs with mushrooms are commonly spoken about, and though they do happen, nothing more than a deja vu is supposably going to occur.

Yes, but you understand, that it's hard for the inexperienced to find the good ones?

Badmoon

That's why you should never venture into the drug while ignorant :)

TIP: Do not sell mushrooms. If you get caught, you will be charged for murder. Being that though many mushrooms are psychedelic and fine, some are deadly or hurtful.

Your kidding right?

Have you ever played guitar while you were stoned? It's so much more fun, and then you end up just playing it for hours without even noticing anything else, you pretty much become the music, and it becomes an experience that you didn't have before, when people are sober, they have a tendency to try to play so formulated and so tensed, but when you're high, you just let it flow.

Moe., Keller, Phish, and The Grateful Dead all played on so many drugs.

Listen to their music, and try to say their ability to play and isntrument is impared while keeping a straight face.

You can't say that drugs will make you enjoy playing more, etc, just that it won't automatically make you terrible. You can't say for definite one way or the other.

Yep, seriously, I am a guitar noob (only 4 months) but I know that I'm better when I'm high, mostly cause I'm just more into it, when I'm not stoned, I kinda lose track of what I'm doing and get bored easily, so I'm forced to stick to simple nu-metal like Linkin Park (sure it sounds good, but it's damn easy) hopefully though, in a year or two, I'll be able to play some Opeth.

Yes, I know, I looked up some tabs, same with Peter, but I might be able to play some songs, like To Bid you Farewell (the whole reason I started playing guitar) so that's really my major goal.

Hi.

Yes, but when you're drunk, you get arrogant and beligerent, and the such, but stoned people aren't "impared" that's just not true, being stoned is just more of feeling for what's going on around you, people may seem "dumb" and impared, but that's because they're absorbing what's going on around them.

It's OK I wouldn't go so far as the Swedish Metal review did though, reading that review, I thought it would be some amazing innovative album, but it ended up being average simple modern metal, nothing special. I think the main reason that everybody says it's so terrible is that it's Metallica, and before this, everything Metallica has done was amazing.

And the lyrics are just atrocious, I was literally rolling on the ground laughing the first time I heard James repeatedly yelling "KILL!" at the end of the last song (All Within my Hands was it?) He sounds like he was going to have a heart attack.

Well I really like Lateralus, and I'm not much impressed by the first best R&M album ever :)

I know it sounds lame, but I think with some bands it really is just opinion.
 But that's...inhuman!

Meh, I don't think I have ever met someone who doesn't like DSotM to be honest, but I can understand not everyone will like it, I just wasn't as impressed with the musicianship all the fans rave about. I think it is a bit harder to deny the musicianship of Pink Floyd, but I'm rather biased :)

Opinions are lame, autonomy is for the weak, homogeneity is trendy ;)

To other post: Chancellor?

To THis post: Most every band I listen to for musicianship has a unique guitar tone. Every guitarist develops their own sound, so I can't say an original sound=greatness.

I was never impressed by his lyrics and I spent a good 5 months in S&L seeing them mentioned time and time again, I never read any I was that impressed with, and his vocals were meh to me. Not very original imo.

Yeah, well that is really the biggest problem I have with Tool fans, is they rave about a musicianship I don't see. If they said they enjoyed listening to it, great, happy for em, but when they say Maynard writes the best lyrics and is a god at vocals...meh.

The Open Face Surgery one is just short of 30 seconds, I think. Apparently the new album will feature one something like twice that length, though. And Flo has started a new technique (called "double blast beats" for the moment) which has increased his already impressive speed.

Nah, then neither is leading or following...but if the guitar is playing root, fifth and root, and the bass is playing root, the guitar establishes the sound more. If the guitarist were playing the same notes in chords (changing each note), it would be complicated bass, but still following guitar...what you refer to is doubling, and there is no lead nor following.

Right, I read up about him on Wikipedia.

According to biographer Martin Gottfried, Daniel was born in 1962 with Down Syndrome. Miller placed Daniel in an institution in Roxbury, Connecticut, and never visited him (although Morath did). Miller fails to mention Daniel in Timebends, his 1987 autobiography, and the issue was ignored in the New York Times obituary[1] of February 11, 2005 (though it was reported in the Los Angeles Times and elsewhere).

I'm off to bed, though. I've had something like 5 hours sleep in the past..many hours. Plus I want to be up in time to be able to buy myself a nice sandwich.
