Thanks, but what I'm wondering is how many tracks it originally had. My copy is the Century Media re-release, and all it says is that it has "bonus tracks", not how many. There are 14 tracks on it, and online sources have told me that it originally had 10, and that it originally had 12. I'm leaning towards 10, but some outside expertise would be nice :)

Scariest film I've ever seen is Watership Down. Before anyone asks, yes, the animated one with the rabbits. Freaks me out totally, I hate it.
Favourite horror movie I can think of is The Abominable Dr Phibes. Only other person I've found on MX who even knows it is ikik..it's just a really black comedy, with Vincent Price. I like it.
Horror film homework for everyone - go and find a film called There's Nothing Out There!, and watch it, repeatedly. Tons of fun..be prepared for a B-movie though.
That's a point, any other B-Movie fanatics out there?

If some tell you 10, wouldn't that mean that there were originally 10, then 2 added, then another 2 added?
Because if the ones that tell you 10 are wrong, what happened to those 2 tracks, it's unlikely.
Ringu is way scarier than The Ring... it is the Japanese version that The Ring was based on...

It's getting much more harder in England for youngsters trying to get in pubs and stuff, because they ask almost anyone who looks anything close to 18 for ID. Infact it has happened to me in the past, and it is annoying and embarrasing if you are the only person out of a group who gets ID'd...
superpeer

They hardly ever do that here, I think.
They'd sell cigarettes to 12 year olds, also.
Yeah.. Australia's had rules making it mandatory to check IDs of anyone who looks in their teens/20s/30s.
But it is easy as hell to buy cigarettes, cos nobody cares about that. And if you are on private property, you can drink no matter what age you are. I'm 17 (nearly 18), but I've talked to the cops while holding a stubby. I just made sure I was on my side of the fence. :thumb:

My copy is also the Century Media reissue, and it states that the last four tracks are bonus tracks. So I'm pretty sure that it originally only had ten tracks. The first two bonus tracks are possibly old demo songs, not too sure, studio recorded anyway; and the other two are live recordings so maybe it was originally re-released with the two studio songs, and re-released again with the two live ones.

Sounds like intelligent viewing for todays society
I was just doing my Advanced Mathematical Techniques module, and a strange though occured to me.
Now, I'm sure you all are aware of the propensity for "n00bs" to create threads which are:
a) Illegal
b) Are carbon copys of the same thread which was done to death an hour ago
c) A hilarious mix of a and b.
Now, if one were to incoporate these into a formula, one would be able to work out the approx. number of pointless threads that the forum will produce each day.
My calculations are something like this:
Let N be the number of idiot threads being made.
Let a be the number of new MX users at any-one time. (Lets say 12)
But, as not all of the new guys are actual "n00bs", then we shall say approx. 2/3 of a are "n00bs".
Now, as everyone knows, as soon as a n00b sees a moderately succesful thread, he has an idea that maybe if he started a thread on the same topic, he too can be succesful. Hence, the amount of N is increased by 60% (multiplied by 1.6) for each moderately succesful thread (T).
Also, the rules are almost never read by n00bs, and even when they are, they tend to ignore them, because "they know better", or "they don't care", or "it's an important question". So the amount of N is reduced by 0 if the n00b hasn't read the rules (R1), and by 5% for each one that has read the rules (R2).
Hence, the formula we have so far is: N = (2a/3 x 1.6T) / 0R1 + 0.5R2
So, for 12 new users, 6 succesful threads and 4 n00bs who haven't read the rules, and 4 n00bs who have, we get the following value for N:
N = 8 x 9.6 / 2 = 38.4, approx. 38 idiot threads a day. It is scary to contemplate, isn't it.
If you have any suggestions on how to improve my formula, feel free. I suck at maths anyway.

An emulator is a computer program that "emulates" a video game system.
for example, ZsNES is a Super NES emulator. It's great, not only can you download pretty much any game (known as a "ROM"), but there are graphics options, sound options, the ability to save/load up to 10 slots at any time, a built in Game Genie, etc, etc, etc. Emulators are great if you love console games but hate collecting the games themselves. Theres Bleem! which emulates playstation, Genecyst for Genesis, etc.

Good morning...afternoon...wherever you are.
I'm at work. Whats new?
Just finished listening to the Dream Theather concert cover of the Master of Puppets album. Everyone rocked it, except LaBrie.
Had to bring my stupid guitar into the shop last night. Unbelieveable, that a loose connection is not covered under warranty. The guy didn't charge me any labor though, so I guess that is OK. Still had to pay for the part. I saw this beautiful Epi Semi-hollow there, but it was like three grand and I was too scared to touch it.
The funny thing was seeing this guy who had obviously done too many drugs in his time, stumbling around the store, he couldn't form a proper sentence, his speech was slurred, and the salesman was reluctant to let him try a guitar.
But when he did....holy smokes...the guy was wailing on that thing. Seriously, I don't even think this guy could have tied his shoes by himself, and he was playing some cool stuff. Weird.

I just saw Willard last night (the remake, not the original) and it was great. Not low budget (financed by New Line Cinema, so it cost quite a bit), but it's definitely a B/cult minded movie. And it has Crispin Glover, who's just an awesome actor.

Well it's technically afternoon for me (4:17pm), but I only got up an hour or so ago, so good morning. I'm at home, as I have no work.
I think I saw that Dream Theater thing on eBay a while ago. Is it the Master of Metallica thing?
How much did the part cost?

The part was 6 bucks, but I could have bought strings with that.
I know, I'm a cheap bastard.
The Dream Theater thing is a live cover of the entire MOP album...I just downloaded it and burned it, I usually don't buy something unless I'm sure I'll like it. It's pretty good, Petrucci is on (of course) but LaBrie just doesn't suit the music. His voice lacks high-end but thats due to the recording. Not a bad listen though.

The problem with the Matrix one is that everyone will make Neo. There's no variety of characters in the Matrix, really. LOTR on the other hand has huge variety, and just adapts to the idea more easily.
My computer's never been capable of playing MMORPGs, though I'm getting a new one for Uni, so maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to.

No no, they won't be able to make Neo.
At least, with Star Wars galaxies (SWG) there were lots of mods. It was hard wired in the program that you couldn't make a charcter with the same name as a prominent character in the books/movies/comics, however if you tried to be clever with something like "Duke Skywalker", you'd be reported straight to a mod by nearly any character you meet. I got it right when it came out, so God knows how much they've improved it by now, but it was really buggy back then. I think I'll wait for the matrix one till they sort out the bugs. It looks kinda cool, but I always find gameplay in these things a little redundant.

I never took part in any championships or anything, just games with friends. Still, I had six or seven decks, and they were pretty good (except for a couple which I was just messing around with). I sold most of the rubbish I didn't use (about 3000 cards, mostly commons) for £100 a couple of years back, and now I'm selling all of my decks dissolved together, with the exception of a few cards I'm keeping for "sentimental value". My dad said my sister went over the curb when he took out to drive for the first time. He told me I did ok, but it was just the first time, so I was going to mess up.

^I hate driving too. My dad asked me if I wanted driving lessons for my 18th birthday, and I said no..then he said that yes, I did, and bought me 10 of them anyway. I don't want to learn how to drive though, so I did those lessons (well, didn't do all of them) and stopped.
Hi Medopalis  I'm actually going out in 15 minutes or so though.

I was nervous as crap the first time I went driving. But every time you go out it gets easier and easier.

Turns out its a lot less than 15 minutes, so I'll be back in a couple of hours.
While I'm gone, did anyone else read Blue Haze's "I'm talking to the Cannibal!" thread in the Pit?

My dad was yelling at me for making bad turns. We were in a huge parking lot, but trying to get the car straight again is hard. he had me doing U turns, and I was o.o;
It was cool to drive though. :)

Yeah I did!! I'm not entirely sure why he's doing this, but it's strangely compelling, isn't it?
I think Blue Haze is a she, and yeah it is. I'm going to go read the rest now, actually, I only got through the first page before.

I hate driving.
I delayed getting my license as long as I could, but after a while I had to. Where I live, you must drive or you're screwed. Maintaining my car and paying for insurance costs me nearly half my yearly income. $500 (canadian) a month just on insurance (about 250-300 Euros)...not including gas, etc.
Not to mention some jerk hit me about 2-3 weeks ago and totalled my car. Now I have nothing, and have to use my school money to buy a car, and I can't go to school.
Having to drive for 45 minutes to downtown Toronto to go to a club or something isn't fun either.
Especially with the high concentration of stupid driver in my area...I once followed a chick for 45 minutes due to road rage.
Driving sucks.
I'm 16 and I don't even have my learners license. But what do I need to drive for? Nothing, i'll be leaching off of my parents until i'm 25. And by then i'll be able to drive.

Just do what I do...play the lottery, and hope to win so you can get a limo to drive you everywhere you need to go.

I just realised two things after watching Lamb of God's "As the Palaces Burn" video
1. The singer has very funny hair.
2. The guitar solo sounds like circus music.

I saw a pic of Randy back in the day when he had really long hair. I liked it better back in the day, and now his hair looks like an emoish haircut or pop punkish hairstyle combed to one side, covering part of the forehead...
Their guitar work sounds arabic influenced to me, but the solos sounding like circus music? That's something you don't seem to notice everyday, but it's still cool :)

Once you get your license, there is a small period of time when it is really exciting and you go for long drives all the time for no reason. Then you realise that cars cost money, and all your friends start making you designated dave. That's when it starts to turn into a chore. :(
Meanwhile, I wish you guys were online when I am. It's like I'm talking to myself on the internet... as well as when I'm alone in a dark room, with my scented candles. That is where I plan my domination of MX, and then the world. And you, Parannoid... you will be at my right-hand side! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!11111111

Well my sister got back from Florida this morning (bringing me a CD with her, which was nice), and she's going to school tomorrow. She's getting a lift in from my mam to help her get all her books and her guitar and things back into school, after the summer holidays. I've left school now, but I've got a pile of history books that need taking back, so I'm gonna take the lift in too.
I figured since I probably wouldn't go to bed til 5 or 6am anyway (and they're leaving at 7:15), I may as well just stay up all the way through.
So, in a couple of hours, I'm going back into school for about 20 minutes, then getting the bus back home, and hopefully going to sleep. And that's all I've got so far.
You?
I just come home from uni, and my brain aches.
I'm thinking about making myself a sandwich, and maybe doing a module of chemistry on the internet.
And this arvo at 5, I'm going in to see my dad in the hospital. He had to go in for surgery on his hands on Friday, and he was really groggy Friday morning, so I'm gonna talk to him when he's more with it.

Sounds like a plan. Why'd he need surgery on his hands?
My parents are divorced, and he lives on a property up in the Tablelands; a pretty rural area that sits just past a mountain range about a two hour drive from my house. It's where most of the dairy farmers are. Anyway, he has a windmill that drives a filtration system for the creek that runs through his land. And late Thursday arvo, he noticed that it wasn't working, so he inspected it and found the cogs that drove it had dislodged. By the way, my dad thinks he is invincible :p so he decides to go and re-align the gears while they are still moving!
So anyway, his hand slips, and gets crushed between two of the cogs. On a reaction, he pulls his hand out, and nearly overbalances and falls backward off the two metre high platform where the gears are. So he reacts again and instinctively reaches out with his undamaged hand for something to halt his fall. His hand found the gears, and he crushed his right hand as well. So now he has the sense to pull his hands out slowly, climb down, and walk to his neighbours up the road.
It turns out the gears broke all of his fingers bar one index finger, and the thumbs. Plus they tore off the pinky of his left hand. So during surgery they had to remove two more of his fingers, because they were too broken to repair, and the rest are in casts, which could take two months to heal.
So now he has two fingers on his left hand, and four broken on his right. Other than that he's okay.

Ouch.
Nah, he'll be fine. He once swerved to miss a drunk driver, hit a light pole, flipped his ute and broke his neck. And that was out bush, so he had to wait for two hours for someone else to drive by.
What do you study at uni, Bartender?

Fair enough. Well good luck to him, anyway.
I haven't actually started Uni yet, but I think I'm going down there this Saturday/Sunday. I'll be studying philosophy, once I get settled in and everything. What do you study?
Molecular Bio-chemistry. So pretty much what you'll be doing... :p
