Because it might be fun. Rather than being useful in getting specific jobs, it could just be enjoyable, and could help him enjoy himself later in life. I'm taking a philosophy degree at the moment - other than teach philosophy, could you tell me what am I going to do with it? Because I don't know.

It is the most common use for a music degree. A few others being music therapy or symphonic performance.

I could always teach but I'm pretty capable and I'll probably see if a double major is at all possible. Of course, the other thing I'd want to do is work with films which is super competitive.
I'd probably go into teaching but it would be a good way to advertise yourself as a studio musician.

Double majoring with a music degree is almost impossible, forewarning. As an engineer, if I double majored in music and engineering, I would be lucky to finish in 7 years, more realistically 8-10. Most people don't even get them in under four years at my school.
Meh, those people won't give a crap as long as you perform well.

If you're just starting out, make sure you set your band targets to acomplish or else you'll jsut spend your time aimlessly messing about.

Yeah, the little kid surviving was weird, but if you can't suspend disbelief, how much are you going to enjoy any films?

That's fair enough, it's not exactly cinematic brilliance, but like I say, I can just watch it easily. Plus I liked Tea Leoni and William H Macy in it, and Sam Neill is always awesome as Alan Grant.
EDIT: Hey, it had Michael Jeter and Alessandro Nivola, too, though in not-really-amazing roles. I really like that cast, heh.

I loved the original. I watched it like every week when I was a kid. When I used to watch it in my grandfathers basement, I was always afraid of there being velociraptors down there, because it looked like the kitchen the kids are in... ah never mind.

4. I have some in S&L if you are that interested...
hva: I don't really study too much of it, but I have formulated my own style of it, the basic outline of which is my homepage. It needs revamping though, I have learned more about philosophy at college.
