I wanted that Starbug! But my mum sucks at these things :(
Well the special edition cost something like £4 more, but my retarded fanboyism of Red Dwarf rivals that of mine for The Wildhearts, so I paid it.
Back To Reality's an awesome episode, anyway. The fascist cop is so cool.

I'm not such a great fan of Dream Theater, but I rather like the live footage of them I've seen (I have the Live Scenes From New York DVD). Even though I'm not so keen on Scenes From a Memory, it's cool to see them performing, especially when they stray from the script somewhat (for example, the bonus footage of them playing A Change of Seasons, though it helps that it's ACOS anyway).

I don't know, I'm not much of a fan, like I said. I like A Change of Seasons, and then a few random songs, but beyond that not much does it for me. Scenes.. does seem to be a popular one, though.

I think SFAM is most peoples preffered DT material because it's not excessively DT if you know what I mean. A few of the songs divide up the progage into smaller doses so that people can deal with it better.
Well...at least that's what I think

Out of all of them I prefer Vai the most. To me his music is the most interesting and he doesn't confine himself to a particular style
Satch writes some great music, but all his music is in one particular style and that gets boring.
DT are good for amazing riffage, great technicality, and mind melting keyboard and Guitar runs.

Phantom Of The Opera is a top rate movie. Honestly, even if you are not a big fan of opera, you should check this movie out. It has got it all; intrigue, romance, murder, despair, humour. They've adapted it extremely well, by adding some dialouge, and modernising it somewhat. There is even an electric guitar, bass and drum portion of the main theme. However, it still retains the soul of the opera. Overall, it is an excellent cinema experience. :thumb:

The Redemption of Althalas eh? Big Dave Eddings fan right here. Read all his books twice or so. :D
What other Authors/books are you into? Ive read all of Robert Jordan's (B.O.R.....zzzzzz) am currently reading Feist (up to... the Empire series) and must say he is an awesome author. As well as a lot of miscilaneous books from random authors.

:thumb:
I quite wanted to see it, but it got a lot of really dire reviews. Yet loads of people seem to really like it as well, so I'll definately investigate it eventually.
I have to work out when I'm going to fit in seeing House of Flying Daggers...

Haha... I knew the name sounded familar but couldnt for the life of me make the connection!
Yeah, The two prequals are excellent. I'm not a big fan of the Elenium or tamuli... Kind of drawn out. The Belgariad and Malloreaon aren't really so epic, as say feist's or jordan's visions are, but they are well written and quite enjoyable.
And I agree once again about Jordan. He has a great theme running, and his first novel was excellent.... But ****, he could have condensed the other 9 books into two or three. :p
I love feist's writtings. I was reading them a book or so every 2 or 3 days, they were that good. That was, until i got up to the empire trilogy. Jani Wurts is next to useless, and have nooo idea why Feist wanted to write with her.
Anne McDragonry? Ive read the excert from the Modern fantasy ledgends, and it was decent. But the 30 odd books with dragons on the front cover always convince me to think a second and third time.
And Keannely? Never heard of him/her? What do they write about and are they worth the trip to the library or local bookshop?

How good at writing is David Eddings.... seriously he just knows how to write a story, that man is creative, I'm starting to rank him over RA Salvatore, I read the Belgariad for my third time recently.... it beats the Dark Elf Trilogy even.
He's not as good as Terry Brooks? (the writer of the Shanarra books) or JRR Tolkien though.

And Keannely? Never heard of him/her? What do they write about and are they worth the trip to the library or local bookshop?
Patricia Kennealy Morrison, the writer of the Keltaid series, which starts with the Silver Branch. It's a really interesting series, supposing that the voyage of St. Brendan from Ireland wasn't made in sea-bound ships, and they weren't headed to Greenland. Rather, they were the descendants of the people who founded Atlantis, and were flying back out to the stars to found a new world. It mixes a lot of fantasy in, and most of the time you forget that it is set in a technologically advanced world. It is based mostly on Celtic history as well, so I loved it for that reason as well.
Interesting side note: She was married to, and is the faithful widow of, Jim Morrison of the Doors.

200-300 isn't that much spending room. You could go to 350, and just get a standard mexican strat, or you could try any low end Ibanez RG series. I also know Shecter makes a few guitars in that price range, thought out to be good enough.

DD-6 is good but I like the Digitech DigiDelay better. The MT-2 I like alot but lots of people don't. Guitar Center is gay.
I'm currently rocking the mexi strat. Lucky for me, I play it through about $2000 worth of pedals and my amp. The Fender '86 Ren Knob Dual Showman I heart.

I've had bad experiences with Digitech, or rather my friend has.
I'm hearing the best distortion pedals are either the Digitech metal master, or the Boss Metal zone. I would know which i liked better if the faggots at guitar center knew what they were doing.
EDIT:

I used to rock the mex strat, i'm in the process of upgrading everything in rig.
Strat -> Ibanez RG1570
Zoom 606 digital effects -> Boss metalzone, DD-6 Distortion (I think)

To Per Ardua Ad Astra, i wasnt talking about guitars, but i know what your talking about.
Im debating between a Boss DD-6 Delay or a Digitech Delay. I sort of want the boss because i dont like the Digitechs Pedal quality (bad experiences) or selection board on the pedal.
The amps im looking at are
Vox AD30VT
Behringer V-tone GMX212
Ibanex TB50R
Im leaning toward the vox, because i heard it sounds like a tube amp (or it might be, i dont know), It has great effects, and is pretty cheap. My only issue is i heard about quality problems, like parts falling off or stop working shortly after purchases.
I plan on getting a ton of effect pedals, so i want an amp that can process all of them and sound good. The built in ones dont matter much to me, but just sound quality.
Some more wattage never hurt anybody either, but i dont want to spend over 300
