Kinda weird if you know that Their drummer was in jail for the brutal murder on an Algerian homosexual. For example.

What made me think of asking - It was Damnation I was doing it to. I suppose they're more second melodies than harmonies though since alot of the time he isn't even singing when I am.
Thanks br3ad. I was confused. I just downloaded some stuff by Nevermore. It's kinda cool. Metal with clean vocals. It has that kind of cliched corny metal vibe to it though (too much reverb on vocals and solos)

What's the problem with cliched, corny metal? Manowar, Goat Horn, Witchsmeller Pursuivant, Warlock, Sceptre, Wargasm..these bands rule. Cornier the better.

Because the majority of you are cool guys (and I'd get flamed to death in the Pit with this) I'm asking your help.
My band recently changed our name from Stuck in Motion to The Evening Reactor. The trouble is, The Evening Reactor is almost as bad a name as Stuck in Motion. This Evening's Reaction seemed cool, but was shot down. However, we have all decided we do not like the name The Evening Reactor nor do we want to go back to our old name. Before I ask them (mostly because they aren't online and I don't want to call), I'll ask you. How does simply This Reactor sound? I was fooling around with Photoshop and made a cool logo already. We play sort of an Alt Rock/Metal combo. Here was the logo (I put it on a sweat shirt)

Basically a ton of dynamic with lots of really soft and lots of really loud and a bit of in the middle. Tons of interludes and insturmental sections. Lot's of temp changes and key changes and a few odd time signatures here and there. Almost prog but not quite.

[QUOTE=paranoidd]Heres something off topic: I have come to the conclusion that Chinese food is made for Chinese people.
I feel like I ate napalm.
Did you know you can make napalm by mixing equal parts of gasoline and crushed kitty liter?QUOTE]
actually, that method sucks heres REAL recipie for crude napalm:
3 parts gasoline
1 part crushed styrofoam (it crushes into little spheres)
1 1/2 parts orange juice concentrate (frozen **** in can) [can be substituted with 2 parts or orange peels grated with cheese grater)
1/4 part ivory bar soap (grated with cheese grater)
now mix it all really well. funnest thing to do with this is:
put it in one of those "all purpose bucket" things from home depot. go to a farm supply store and look in the fertilizer aisle for a nitrate pellet/ nitrogen pelltet/ something similar (should come in a ball the size of ur fist. drill a hole thru the pellet and use hoe to tie the pelet to the handle of ur napalm bucket (DO NOT GET PELET WET WITH NAPALM - EXTREMELY IMPORTANT)
now just set the bucket outside of ur local elementary school...
then watch the news hahahahahahhaa

I'm fairly sure a friend of mine has OCD. He's hilarious.
First of all, he can't stand anyone standing on his left hand side, or even worse, rubbing his left arm. He can't explain why, but it means that he'll walk sideways before having someone walk directly to his left - unless there's also someone directly to his right, because that balances it out.
The other big one is spinning things - he can't stand them. If he has a pencil (or rule, or card, or anything) on his desk, and you spin it, he'll have to try and turn it back the same number of times it span, otherwise it distracts him horribly. Going around roundabouts is okay, unless you go round more than was needed. Bottle tops are okay, because there's a purpose being served, and they get spun back anyway.
He has a watch, one of those divers watches with a clicky turny thing around the face, and it combines two things he can't stand - first of all, he hates anyone turning it (because of spinning, and the fact that it can't be turned back), but also, he can't stand it not being aligned so that the N is at 12 o'clock. Which means that if anyone turns it a couple of degrees (which people do, a lot :)), it absolutely kills him to turn it all the way around so it's properly lined up again.
And they're just the major ones. He's weird in many other respects as well.

I wonder if Paranoidd enjoyed his Rush concert.

Oh buddy, it rocked.
We had a setlist so we knew exactly what was coming up. My seats weren't too great but I could still see (and hear).
Highlights: They opened up with a medley of a few tunes, and it sounded amazing. Only ones I can remember were finding my way and Cygnus X-1. Then they played subdivisions, which was a pleasant surprise (its one of my favorite tunes).
They came back from intermission with Tom Saywer, and the place was jumping...absolutely crazy.
When they did 2112 (overture/temples of syrinx/finale) I think everyone in the crowd was singing along.
Neil's drum solo...oh man...it was worth my money right there.
Geddy and Alex did a track where they were both playing acoustic guitars, the name of it escapes me, but its a beautiful track.
And definitely my favorite part, the second last song they played (before their three encores) was Xanadu, my favorite Rush song. It was incredible.
They did a great performance of Red Sector A as well.
The whole city had Rush fever yesterday, I swear. At one point, Alex goes into the mike and starts saying "theres no place like home...theres no place like home..." and naturally everyone went nuts.
Encores were: Summertime Blues, Crossroads, Limelight
Songs I'm disappointed they didn't play: Distant Early Warning, New World Man, Closer to the Heart.
I missed two songs while taking a piss...I had one of those 28 oz. cups of beer. It was a long piss and a long lineup.
It was a long show too...about three hours. with 25 minute intermission.
But all in all, a great show. Thanks for asking Bartender :D

Sounds like my brother.
And me. :upset:

I'm not a fan of Rush, but that sounds great nonetheless. Glad you enjoyed it.

On the train on the way there (a 15 minute ride to avoid the pain of driving downtown and getting stuck for three hours in traffic) the driver over the intercom said "Next stop, exhibition. All you lucky people going to the Rush concert, this is your stop. Say hi to Geddy for me."
Yeah, if he was such a big fan, he could have got us there on time. The bloody train was 15 minutes late.

He was probably bitter because he didn't have tickets.

Yeah. I believe his exact words after "say hi to Geddy" were "I'd like to go, but I can't, I'm a Working Man...*chuckle*" (playing on the fact that working man is the title of a rush song).
I'm like...yeah...hardy har har, drive the fvcking train so I don't miss that song you cunt.

I missed the first 30 seconds...I was walking to my seat when they started playing so it worked out fine.
Deep Purple and Joe Satriani were there the night before, I'm pissed I missed that.

Does anyone here have an inordinate amount of knowledge of Spiderman/comics in general?

I know alot. If you want a lot of dirt go to the pit and search for Spiderman 2. It was a thread I started on opening day (right after I saw it  ) and it has links and a ton of information about Spiderman.
