Every time I have had a lunch break at work for the past 2 weeks I have gotten Wendy's. I would get Taco Bell, but that always leads to terrible gas/the runs at work :(

Sorry for being off-topic, but Wendy's owns Burger King and McDonald's.

I almost bought Wendy's yesterday, but my friends knew this girl who was working at a booth in the street fair and I got a burrito and soda for free.

Now I have more money in my pocket XD

I wonder how Slayer will be tonight on Headbanger's Ball...hmm

Is it possible to be off-topic in a thread for off-topic discussion? :)

Wow, you have alot of forums to mod right now...

I love it though, so it's not a problem. Anyway;

CD Reviews - takes work just updating lists and things, but it's my forum, so I don't care.

R&M - has three other mods, so I won't be needed too much. Has a report problems thread anyway.

Punk - Has no mod, but SFK is also checking on it, and they've now got a Report Problems thread modelled on R&M, so it'll only takes 20 minutes or so a day.

Site - One of my original mod positions, but little happens there.

Politics - Already has zero and Maveryck, and I think SFK is also checking there too, so again, there's little enough to do.

Alt/Indie - no mod, since Nacho is retiring, but there's rarely any problems in there.

Anyway, it's all fun.

Hey Zepfan, I read that little philosophy thing in your profile... some really interesting points. However, some if it seems a little unclear to me. Why is religion the only basis for morals? If one were to live in that "clean" environment you speak of, and then they had their loved ones killed by a psychopath, they would feel wronged. That develops a sense of morals, "murder is bad." To develop a sense of morality, all we need is a template to compare it to, we don't necessarily need something like religion. A better way to explain this is through colors. Your "clean" environment is a black and white environment, not in that its simplified to good and bad, but rather that there are no colors or "moral codes" to define it. However, as soon as color of some sort is introduced, you compare these new colors, or moral actions, to the morals of the "black" and the "white." Religion is only one template of color, but there are infinite templates or arrangements of color that can define morality in man. Also, while its true that wholescale "perfection" is impossible, as there is nothing that all people will agree with. However, if I and a friend of mine agree that something is the best it can be, then it is perfect to us, isn't it? If people were stranded on an island and had no concept of other people being alive, or of anything even existing beyond their island, and that small group agreed something was perfect, then they have attained some sort of perfection in their eyes. Just my ideas, however. Could be wrong.

You've got some cool stuff that you talk about, I'd love to have a discussion with you about it sometime.

Definitely. I don't want to fill up the community board with it, but I can explain those points to you in breif here, and more indepth later. If you are in my clean society, and you have no morals, and then you kill someone, they would not be bothered because it isn't wrong. If, on the other hand, it felt wrong to do it, no one would ever kill someone else. Even if it was a consensus of everyone they knew it would not be perfection because there would be too little input. It must include the entirety of everyone, because there is a degree of societal perfection that can exist, though the contrsts of culture is what makes perfection impossible. In your hypothetical situation, there would be a local perfection present, but I don't believe even that would ever happen. People always argue.

Bartender
11-16-2004, 07:43 AM
So screw going to bed. Stay up long as you like/can find things to do.

And yeah, it has somewhat. Not that they make much difference to mods :-/ The headstart we get kind of eradicates the point. Nice to read comments though.

BoboTheRagingHobo
11-16-2004, 07:49 AM
Ya, I just see people in there giving rep points to every one for no reason at all. I find that kind of pointless, but I also find alot of the pit members very pointless as well.

Paranoidd
11-16-2004, 07:49 AM
I don't get this whole rep point system.

I get alot of reps, but I don't give out that many. I generally only give them to people who post worthwhile/extremely funny posts. I thought that was the whole point?

BoboTheRagingHobo
11-16-2004, 07:53 AM
That was the point of it, it was made to basically recognize useful and helpful members, not who are the most popular.

I also only give them to people who deserve them, as in posting retarded things get negative reps, and people who post good informative things and such get good reps.

Paranoidd
11-16-2004, 07:58 AM
That's what I do...I don't understand people begging for rep points.

Bartender

BoboTheRagingHobo
11-16-2004, 08:16 AM
That's what I do...I don't understand people begging for rep points.

I have not begged for a single point, and I have 1282 right now, I earned mine with out begging. But it seems in the pit every one is begging for them, even though most people in the pit are worthless users in the aspect of them actually contributing to the forum.

And people with more points give out more rep points. Like say some one with 1000 points gives out more then some one with like 800 points.

Bartender
11-16-2004, 08:19 AM
Yeah, it's to do with how many points you have. Mods have 20k as default (though it can go higher or lower), so they give out 200 at a time.

Also, if your points are in the negative, I don't think you can give out any. Or at least, they don't seem to make a difference.

Paranoidd
11-16-2004, 08:19 AM
Well considering the pit is usually a flame fest, you'll get points for just about anything, it really is a popularity poll. I got quite a bit for arguing with somebody about "the state of music" though.

It's more applicable to the lesson/instrument forums where points can be given for how helpful people are.

SonorKen
11-16-2004, 08:20 AM

Yea, it is alot more sensible for the insturment forums, and also the music genre forums as well. People all help out in these forums in various ways, but I don't see the pit doing any good for the forum...

Well, I'm not black, so maybe "fro" isn't the word. It is slightly wavy, light brown, and it "poofs." It's not cool-looking at all. Tips?

My friend travis has hair somewhat like that. Once it gets past a certain length, it won't look as stupid. Unless it grows out rather than down, of course. Then you're screwed. I don't know. Get dreads or something.

My friend Mark is like that... his hair is long now and it looks really cool. Just think of how when your hair gets really long you can be like slash.

If you get dreads.... consult your parents.... and gaurd them with your life.

Trust me, it'll pay off.
