Are they music files? Picture files? Some web editing program files? You need to give us more information.

Or you can go here:
http://home.att.net/~mkw/mkwact.html
to get the program I and a lot of people use to convert them.
Actually, that's onyl really useful if you burn them to CD, which I do. I'm going to guess you downloaded a concert bootleg.

Correct. I downloaded a live Buckethead show, bootleged of course. So this program would let me convert it? To what?

WAV, which is optimal for burning CDs.

Alright, I downloaded it but when I try to run the set up I get this error message...
This system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
Then it has a close button and and ignore, the same thing happens no matter which one you click, it closes.
But wait, theres more!
After it closes another window arrived on my screen that proudly says...
mkwSFX has unpacked the Setup files to your TEMP folder and launched set up. Once setup complete click OK to remove the setup files from your temp folder.

I know, stuff like that takes long, but it doesn't seem like it's the files that are messed up. Try installing the program again, or just use the plugin someone posted so you can just listen to it for now.
