Track by Track Review:

<Center> Stigmata </Center>
1: Possibly my favourite Ministry song, of all time(Next to TV II, New World Order, Thieves,Effigy and Everyday is Halloween.) It starts out with a guitar doing a part with a Hi-Hat backing it up... or it could be some other form of percussion. As that comes off a Drum beat comes in n’ out after every four measures. The Drum beat is so catchy and perfect sounding, that by the
second time you listen to this song you’ll be tapping it out. The intro fades into the song perfectly, possibly the best intro I’ve ever heard. Another explosive drum pattern, and then a thunderous guitar riff. “Just like a car crash, just like a knife, My favourite weapon... is the Look in your Eyes. Then a very fast double bass pedal beat and then the lines. “You’ve run out of Lies! This album, and well practically Ministry is well beyond their time. Al’s Lyrics are so great. “I’m chewing on Glass, I’m eating my fingers, I’m not the One who has Run Out of Lies! I’m pretty sure this is about the president. The Guitars, the drums, the percussion and the Lyrics are great in this song.Score - 5/5 Stars

<Center> The Missing</Center>
2: The sound of the Hi-hat, in the intro of this song is much like the sound of yourself punching a glass window as hard as you can. The hi-hat is being hit very hard, and producing a very great sound. After the intro, another explosive Ministry riff is placed. The Riffs of this band remind me very much of the riffs of Tom Morello, of Rage Against the Machine. The Vocals this time-
around are very much different then the vocals of Stigmata. They are good, but I doubt anyone but a metal fan would enjoy them. Score - 4/5 Stars

<Center> Deity</Center>
3: The intro to this one sounds like chains, or coins or something like that rubbing together. After that another crazy sounding Ministry riff is applied. Then the back beat of the song for the rest of the song comes in. This song is about a God, or Goddess. Score - 3/5 Stars

<Center> Golden Dawn</Center>
4: This starts off with screeching guitar part, which then stops, and a Drum part comes in. It is pretty much left like that, without much change for about 1:50. The music slows down, and random samples come in. There are samples of old men talking, and of jurors. To separate some of the samples Al has a looped version of himself saying “The Energy of Christ. I bet most of you would skin this one because it’s slow, or “isn’t really a song. Although it’s very interesting. Score - 3.5/5 Stars

<Center> Destruction</Center>
5: Another one, most of you will skip. Pretty much just pure samples. A lot of the samples are of Chants. However, it seems to drag on a bit, and uses a lot of the same samples over, and over again. Score - 2/5 Stars

<Center> Hizbollah</Center>
6: A weird song, all together. It starts off with a carousel-type sample at the beginning. After that a weird beat from an object that I do not know. Pipes or something like that. When the lyrics come in, they don’t make any sense to me. They are not words, or they are not in English. They are not even sung by Al, I don’t think. I’m almost positive it’s a female. The song gets a higher
mark for the instrument un-know.. It makes a cool sound. Score:- 3.5/5

<center> The Land of Rape and Honey</Center>
7: Another one of my absolute favourite Ministry songs. The drums sound so god **** cool! This is more of a traditional song, apposed to ones with samples, and stuff. It does have a little chant behind the drums in some part of the song. I don’t know what it is, but this song is so great, it can’t even be put into words. Score:- 5/5

<center> You What You Are</Center>
Another one of the sample’ songs. Although, it’s a really great one. This song starts off with some old man Laughing, and busts right into it. This one sounds more like a regular industrial song (of the likes of KMFDM), then the likes metal, like Pantera, or something. It has a sample of a guy screaming “You know what you are!, which I think is very nice sounding. After a while, it has Al, with some sort of vocal effects singing. Nearing the end, it mixes things up by saying “Die MotherF’uckers!, then “You know what you are! very cool song. Score:- 4/5

<center> I Prefer</Center>
A slower song, then the other ones. The back tune to this song is very cool sounding. As much as it is good, it doesn’t fit this CD I don’t think. Score - 2/5

<center> Flashback</Center>
This song starts off with a sample of some guy saying “Saddle up men (I think). Another more industrial song. With Al saying “Because I hate her. A Cool song with a wide assortment of different sounds. Score - 3/5

<center> Abortive</Center>

The last song of the record is a weak one. It is Good, but isn’t enough to hold the last thought of a band, in someone’s head. There are no vocals, it is pretty much all samples, synth, saws, guitars and drums. An even more wider assortment of sounds then the last song.Score - 3/5

The Final Thought
A really great album. The songs “Stigmata, and “The land of rape and honey are worth your money alone. And the rest of the music just adds to the greatness of this album. I like all of the songs on this cd, but some do not fit. Lots, and Lots of bands have been influenced by Ministry (Slipknot, Mudavayne ect.) Check this out if you’re a Fan of metal, Industrial or if you
just want something Different. Overall Score: 4/5

Good review. I'm not the biggest Ministry fan, but still, several of their songs are very good, which makes them at least worth it.

That's the new Ministry though - one of the guys has left since Land of Rape and Honey, so it's really just Al Jourgensen left with any creative control, so it's more all him on the new album. I actually quite liked the use of samples in No W though.

Meh, I was excited about this album, but your review kinda makes me not want it; cause it seems like there are alot of not-so-good songs :upset:

No, no kaden, Not at all. They are all great songs. Just some dont fit the mood that Stigmata sets. I can admit that the last 2 songs are weaker, but the rest is perfect. Not to mention you can probly pick this up for cheap anyways. I have all the Ministry albums, anymore that you would like me to Review, to see if you should buy?
Anyways.. Buy this album, its highly recommended.

Wow, that's a weird review format. But then again, Ministry is a weird band. Did anyone see that video they made for that "A.I." movie where they were part of that "Flesh Fair" thing?

Get this cd off of ebay or a ministry website or www.amazon.com because it's out of print now. It's very different from the new album i.e. more electronic and less guitars. It plain kicks ***. My favorites are "Diety", a very fast speed metal song reminiscient of KMFDM's "A Drug Against War", then "You Know What You Are", with vocals harsher sounding the Nivek Ogre (of Skinny Puppy) and badass sounding beats and samples, then "Flashback", a great song if you mad at someone/something with another badass beat and sampled guitars or something. Every song has something unique about it though that makes it sound very sweet. After this album buy "The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste", a generally slower sounding cd but more guitars and badass still.

KMFDM's "Xtort" (my fav. kmdfm album)
Skinny Puppy "Too Dark Park" (all i've heard is "the process" and "greater wrong of the right", which are supposedly a completely different sound from what SP is known for)

Edit: and any other industrial albums you think we should know about :)
