Bikini bandits is pretty much just sexual humor, fetish, action, b-movie, soft ****. Think **** and guns, but with a funny twist.

In other words, Maynard accomplished one of many men's childhood fantasies to be in **** lol The whle reason he starred in some of them is because of his good friend being the one to direct them in Phillie. And he's about to be in another one pretty soon about the French.. or something like that.

If you buy APC's Amotive DVD it has an entire section dedicated to them. Trailers with Maynard at pool side with a hot girl inbetween his legs talking of them and all. Must be nice lol

It's another one of his kicks and giggles :p

I think maynard is american of course.

If he were of another ethnicity we wouldve known about it by now.

I am pretty sure he is American and I don't see any links to being Irish in his voice

Keenan is Irish, I think, don't flame me if I'm wrong, I'm usually good with these things.

He's got an American accent, I have no idea where the Irish thing came from.

I asked about ethnicity, not nationality. There's a difference. American isn't an ethnicity because the people who live in this country's ancestors came from other countries. Ethnicity involves a bloodline, such as German or Chinese. Nationality is just the place that a person is a citizen of. Obviously, by nationality, Maynard is American.

So over the course of the last three days, I've been chipping away at learning The Grudge on guitar. It's pretty simple other than the 5/8 time, which I'm catching onto. :p It's fairly simple up until the last minute and a half or so. Then it get's a little more technical, such as when the intro riff is played, but instead of single notes, they're in powerchord form. :-/ Other than than, the song is wicked fun to play.

A female vocalist with Maynard could personify the whole Light/Dark thing, switching off the vocals (Maynard-Dark/Female-Light?) Sounds interesting.

Maynard gets backup vocals in APC from Billy Howerdel and that Paz Leblahblah lady, and it sounds good, but I don't know. It'd probably be cool and all but Tool has done EVERYTHING alone except for the song on Undertow with Henry Rollins.

Then again, they never have catered to what people want or say.Its always cool to see a band push boundaries, and if that means guest musicians, then theirs nothing we can do or say about it even if it is Tori Amos. Just imagine Tori Amos singing Sober or Eulogy or something.

That's pretty crappy...
That reminds me, I talked to my dad today.. He's a former drummer, and we talked about his carrier.. At his bands peak, they made around 3000 bucks a month, and that was 30 years ago.. Wich I guess would be equivilent to making 6000 bucks a month now... And this was doing covers.... My dads biggest regret is that they never sat down and wrote any originals....

I also found out that my dad started drumming while the band was touring, before that he was a trumpet player.. Then the drummer ditched them in the middle of a gig, and my dad took his place.. First time drumming for real, and it's in front of an audience.... Ouch.. And back then they played a show every night.. So he learned how to play drums while hundreds of people watched him play

malignant5050: k
malignant5050: so do I ask you a question? Because Im not sure if you're typing something or not
Neeshacker: oh yes
Neeshacker: ok
Neeshacker: well the concept of the album is light
Neeshacker: eclipses the mooon
Neeshacker: etc.
Neeshacker: the release date is Sept. 25th
Neeshacker: with that being said
Neeshacker: and the morce code
Neeshacker: read this
Neeshacker wants to directly connect.
Neeshacker is now directly connected.
Neeshacker: ***-**--*-- = original symbol
Take the first 6 characters, because generally in a date there are 6 characters, for example (09/25/05)

***-**
There are 5 stars altogether, each with 5 points.
The first 3 stars, if multiplied by their points (3 x 5) would be 15.
The second set of stars, then multiplied by their points (2 x 5) would be 10.
This adds up to the 25th, the day of the last quarters of the moon, but Sundays are generally not days for a CD to be released.
Therefore the line, which is one by one persay, would simply be 1 and when added to the others would be 26, Monday.

--*--
The second 5 characters are the month.
Once again the star rule applies, 1 star multiplied by its 5 points would be 5.
When added to the four lines, this makes the ninth month, September, whose day the 25th is the last quarter of the moon.

Blair also affirmed this date, and added he could not make the information obvious at all to his fans, therefore he made it almost impossible, especially by putting the day before the month.
malignant5050: wow
malignant5050: thats awesome
Neeshacker: yeah man
malignant5050: thank you very much for stelling me this stuff
malignant5050: so is it going to be very heavy or was tool just messing with us or something?
Neeshacker: no idea on that
malignant5050: ok
malignant5050: well, thanks agian for telling me that

The Deftones are great. So is Team Sleep, Chino's other band. I saw them live a couple weeks ago, and made a lost, forgotten thread about it. I'll post my little live review.

I just got back from seeing Team Sleep. Amazing, amazing show. There was so much presence and atmosphere, and all the members, especially the drummer, sounded unbelievablely good. He soloed at the end of every song, and was just incredible throughout the whole concert. Chino did a bit of freestyle rapping two or three times, in between songs.

Because the club that the show took place in is a fairly small, sort of grungy place, the band left the building by going through the audience, so that naturally got quite a bit of attention. I gave the rock sign (\m/  \m/) to Chino, and he just sort of smiled and nodded in response. I shook the lead guitarist's hand and just said, "Awesome." Same for the drummer, who stayed for a bit after the rest of the band left and soloed for a minute or two.

Afterwards, I got two guitar picks, one of Chino's, and one from the lead guitarist. I talked to one of the roadies for a bit, and I also swiped a promo poster that was lying on the floor.

Great, great show. If you get the chance, see them, because Chino's eventually going back to work with the Deftones.

Good times.

I just got back from the TOOL website (www.toolband.com) and everything that usually just sits there in the News sect. is completely gone.

Now, I could just be over reacting, but something like this (as far as I've seen) has never happened to the news sect. You would at least be able to check out the past archives, and I can't even do that..?

Maybe you's guys can shed some light on the subject, or it can be just a HTML f*ck up. Or maybe something a bit more interesting (which I wouldn't be surprise this being TOOL and all).

Magicaltroll

***-**--*-- = original symbol

I think the dots could represent the stars. It may have been something to just throw us off. Maybe not.

Also, with the whole "multiplying the points" thing. Couldn't you multiply the 3 dots by the 5 dots as a whole, do the same wiith the 2 dots by the 5 as a whole, and the last dot would be added?

Dude3
07-14-2005, 02:41 PM

I'm pretty sure I'm not first to say this but it could be released for orders, or maybe have downloadbles on their site on the 25th, and then it could be in stores 26th. The only the reason the 26th was brought is because it's a Sunday, and albums aren't put in stores on Sundays, normally.

Other points of arguments of the pessemistic nature...

#1 _ / _ _ / _ _

This would mean the date is 9/25/05 the proper american way, though the 05 isn't counted...

#2 dd/mm/yy is the british way of writing dates, why would Blair use this?

#3 Why divide up the sections into ***-** and --*-- ...why not ***-** , **--* and *-- whih seems more logical to me, or maybe other permutations?

#4 "This adds up to the 25th, the day of the last quarters of the moon, but Sundays are generally not days for a CD to be released. "

Why even mention this, it is clear the 1 dot needs to be accounted for therefore the date cannot be the 25th

#5 If the date is considered to be the 26th. The other numebrs of dots (3 and 2) are multiplied by 5, why is the 1 dot not multiplied by 5? making the date the 31st, (again not a CD release date)

#6 "Blair also affirmed this date, and added he could not make the information obvious at all to his fans, therefore he made it almost impossible"

Almost? I see no logic in working this out, therefore Blair has made it slightly more difficult than 'almost impossible'

Please thread, think about this. Are there any good, logical arguments supporting this date except for national tool day?

Although, I really don't like the whole "2 disc" thing. I think with Tool, we won't be let down. But for some reason, the 2 disc's kinda makes it less attractive. Like it has too much baggage, and would be better off as one Cd, with less songs.

Although, I really don't like the whole "2 disc" thing. I think with Tool, we won't be let down. But for some reason, the 2 disc's kinda makes it less attractive. Like it has too much baggage, and would be better off as one Cd, with less songs.

That would be cool if it were two discs, but if it is just one, i hope they utilize every minute of it, just like Lateralus.

Baaaad idea. I love the dynamics from a single album, not seperating them onto two disks. Thats the mistake Opeth and Foo Fighters have made so far. (and in those cases, the light side owns the heavy)

About that, I was wondering (unrealistically), that we change the thread name when that time comes around to avoid n00bs for a while, so we can have a proper conversation on it.

Though that defeats the purpose of an official thread I know

I agree. Its a bad trend. IF they have that many "good" songs, just save them.

Or do a Smashing Pumpkins style release of 2 disks of 1 album

Ironic that 1979 played last, and now its Sober on my playlist

123'd to hell and back.

I think opeth could have done with a single album...though i love ****ation so much.

With the foo's the double album was a good idea, they were following up one by one, so having a hard album suits their style, they just didn't pull it off.
The light side is great though. Though not a patch on their older stuff...

Double discs can work, The fragile, The Wall, The White Album.

Though my main problem with this is this light and dark thing. We only have this bundled in with the release date, if one is void, chances are the other is too :)

I don't wanna be a fag but 'Think for yourself, question authority'

From pretty standard dance/alternative music into more electronica influenced chillouty-dance stuff to kind of experimental chillout. Yeah, but the style change is throughout, he even admits it in the liner notes. Most DJ artists will get it, using samples from different genres, it creates some variety
