That breaks my heart
Why would it do that, acutally I'm not too sure whether they did, maybe the song is an instrumental?
I love instrumentals. There's no such thing as a bad instrumental imo...
Partly because what can make a song bad sometimes is the vocals, and instrumentals are usually a time for the band to show off :D
In the guitar forum, I believe Po0sh (sp?) went to Gigantour and witnessed Washington's Next firsthand, he said that Drover's solo was just shred, I ****en love that :D

The only track I don't really like much on SFSGSW is Liar. The rest range from amazing to damn good.
502? Ugh, that song and Anarchy are just terrible duds to me, especially 502. It's just so...lame. And Liar is good for the music, and they lyrics are pretty funny. Everybody hear Megadeth played Take No Prisoners last night in Oakland? I was supposed to go, buy my drummer bailed on me for a ride, and my car is in the goddamn shop.

I actually wouldn't mind them turning that one into an instrumental. I haven't actually seen Megadeth live, but I recently watched a video of a show they played a couple years ago and Mustaine's vocals weren't very good. So, getting rid of the vocals is a plus for me. Unless he was having an off night perhaps? If his vocals are still of good quality and his vocals being bad was like a one time thing then I could go either way.
I think Mustaine's voice is at its best right now, he's never really been much of a singer...
But then again, I couldn't imagine anyone else singing for Megadeth.

So it was pretty much awesome.
Here's the set list:
Blackmail the universe
Set the World Afire
Skin o' My Teeth
Wake Up Dead
In My Darkest Hour
Die Dead Enough
She Wolf
Take No Prisoners (This was NOT instrumental)
Trust
Hangar 18
Sweating Bullets
Tornado of Souls
Kick the Chair
Symphony of Destruction
Washington is Next
Peace Sells
Holy Wars
I got the setlist and another sheet up paper for Take No Prisoners. The TNP paper has the lyrics on it, the words that the band shouts:
Inflitrate them
Terminate them
Permiate them
ect. ect.
I was in the very front the whole time, which was great. And also Overkill was pretty disappointing... :(

Arch Enemy was the worst band of the night, I can't see why people seem to love them.

They were signing stuff when LoG was playing, during that I went out for some drinks and Overkill were walking like normal people outside, jaja that was pretty cool considering that I didn't have to make a long line or get that special wristband that allows you to meet the band.

Who decides how long a band plays for?
I mean, does the band decide "We're not being payed for this, so let's only play 5 songs", or does Mustaine decide "I'm too cheap to pay for any more then 5 songs"?
I'm pretty sure Dave sets the times.

Shortly after lead guitarist Dave Mustaine was fired from Metallica due to alcohol problems, drug abuse and personality conflicts, Mustaine, guitarist Greg Handevidt and bassist David Ellefson formed Megadeth. Opeth better play the five song set at my show.
I saw them in San Bernidino (sp?) on Sunday and it blew my mind.
Opeth did a great show; songs included Ghost of Perdition, The Leper Affinity, and Damnation. Oh and Akerfeldt mentioned having a love affair with Gene Hoglan. Strange.
Arch Enemy didn't do too bad, however I sat through most of their set.
They played a couple of my favs. which were: We Will Rise, and The Dead Bury Their Dead.
Lamb of God did like a 1 to 1 and a half hour set. Songs included stuff off the new album (what band doesn't?) Laid to Rest, Now You've Got Something To Die For, part of Ashes of the Wake, Black Label, etc. A pretty damn good set IMO.
Megadeth was the best damn band of the night. They played the same stuff that butcher posted, and the pyrotechnics were badass and f**king LOUD.
Washington is next was a really good song. Dave is demonstrating that he can really sing, plus the dual lead guitar work of Dave and Glen is just sick.

Well, without putting down your opinion (like CTE aswell), the tracks are just much more simplified and don't really have a certain kickass tone to them. The solo are still amazing, but the main riffs are pretty bland compared to pre-RIP, even I can learn to play most of those songs easily.

Ah, you make a valid point my good man, but you see there's more to songs then just how kickass they are. While the riffs may have been a little on the bland side compared to their previous works the song structure and overall song writing skills had improved. I like to listen to CTE when I feel like I've had my fill of RIP type shredding.
CTE to me is more about the song structure than about 'well lets see how fast I can play today'. Dave is a really talented guitarist, and sometimes I feel that he allows his technical style of playing get in the way of the structure of his songs.
Besides as was aforementioned, just because a song is easy to play doesn't make it a bad song. Symphony of Destruction is one of my fav. songs to play for ppl because it has good lyrics, and is one of their most recognizable songs.

Hmm, most of my mates think Megadeth>Metallica by far. I would say that neither Mustaine or Hammet would be that good of a lead guitarist but Mustaine hasn't really ever been the Lead guitarist for Megadeth where as Hammet is so that may be why he cops a lot of ****. Yeah Kirk uses the Em pentatonic all the time.
And Dave just uses the pentatonic in different keys?
Happy

Dave probably uses the Em pentatonic a lot too, I've never really looked.
But his solos have much more variety and are more interesting.
Dave uses Pentatonics in interesting, different ways instead of the same way every time.
But Hammett's first solo in Fade To Black is quite a bit different to the second, or even third solo.

What type of shoes does Mustaine wear in the Holy Wars clip?

I am an 80's metal fashion victim!
I still wear the white sneakers with the tight jeans, I ****en love it.
I often get mistaken for an emo because of the jeans, but that's cool.

But isn't that the pentatonic scale? I don't really know what a run is... I don't really know any theory either, so I'm probably wrong, but I would definately want to know this, so if you could explain? :)
Edit:
Yeah.. Dave can play music too :p

I've seen both use different scales than pentatonics.
Kirk-Harmonic Minor, Natural Minor

My girlfriend saw megadeth at gigantour about a week ago.
She paid $30 along with 50 other people to meet Dave Mustaine (and the rest of megadeth) and take pictures with them. Im not sure if they had this available at all the gigantour shows, or just the milwaukee one, but they also said that the pictures would be available online 3 days after the show, which has passed, and will be available for 6 months to download. They handed her a piece of paper with the address that the pictures can be found at, and when she types it in her browser it says the page isnt available on the server.
The address is
http://gigantour.com/megadethphoto/milwaukee.php
I don't know if or why a big venue (or megadeth) would rip her off like that, but its not available to view for her. The signing/meeting was available through FYE also. If anyone has been to this show or has taken pictures with megadeth and CAN or CANNOT view them, lemme know, or if anyone has any luck with the link, or if anyone has any suggestions
She was given a number also, it is 34.
I don't know what it's used for, but they wrote it on the back of her slip with the address on it.
Appreciate all help, thanks.

"Whoa" - Neo
They were so great i was speechless after the show. My friend caught a Dave Mustaine pick and we were in the front row.

On MEGADETH's upcoming album, "United Abominations":
"There's a couple of little things that need to be finished, but as soon as they're done, we'll start mixing it. What I can tell you though is that this new album isn't anything like 'The System Has Failed' (2004). I love this album! This album makes my nipples so hard you could use them to cut glass. I'm totally excited by this album. But having said that, I'm not going to tell you what it sounds like, because if I say it sounds like this, you're only going to say that it sounds like that. We should just sit down, have a couple of drinks and listen to it together. It's only then that know what I'm talking about, and I can watch as the album socks you in the face! (Laughs)"
"'United Abominations' will be released in March. I hate those phrases which say sometime early next year, maybe, could, unknown, as of yet and temporarily. If I have to get out there like The Naked Cowboy (who is otherwise known as Robert Burck) in Times Square (New York) and sing in my underwear, this album will be released in March. While there's a lot of girls that would line up to see me singing in my underwear, I would like to avoid that and see the album come out officially."

Glen nailed them all. His crowd interaction was awesome. I was basically right in front of him, in front of big speakers, so his view of me was very clear, and there wasn't anyone else close to me, being that far to the side. He gave me thumbs up a couple times, smiled at me during two solos, and when he was throwing out his picks at the end, when it came to his last one, he waltzed over toward me and thew it right to me. :) :)
