so what's everyone actually think of the roadrunner deal? roadrunner seems to have several bad bands, i hope they don't influence megadeth too much.
*cough*DragonForce*cough*
Yeah they do have some crap bands like Opeth and some of those emo/Hot Topic related bands.

I'd rather deal with that than, the kids at my school who think that Job For A Cowboy is grindcore and Children of Bodom is black metal.
So yeah, Killing Is My Business...and Business is Good!, the verse is one of the coolest riffs I can think of right now.

Heh, I want to cover some Megadeth, but I don't want to ask my* band to learn the songs :p
Unfortunately, this band is a bunch of stoners, and like most stoners, they practice once every 6 months (...And they're all better then me, and I play for maybe 6 hours a day.)

no waay. although i love some DT, i dont like the guitar tone. and also, having listened to DT alot, i still cant quickly recall any particular riff. they arent nearly as catchy as megadeth riffs, IMO.
IMO, Megadeth are a far, far better band. lyrically, they are better too. the Glass Prison lyrics seem annoyingly easy to write, to me. and as a prog band, i dont think DT have nearly as much character and feeling as Megadeth.

Yeah, I did a write-up on them once :D (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=392191).

Well there is about another half-dozen demo era Exodus songs which were never recorded on an album. He may have contributed some more there. Fun fact: While drinking one night Kirk, Gary Holt, Paul Baloff and Tom Hunting decided to each cut their hands and pressed them together. Gary and Paul wrote the song Bonded By Blood about it, and Kirk still has the scar on his hand.
Now that I think of it, I remember hearing that a couple of parts of Creeping Death may have been in early Exodus songs, but I'm not sure.

So does that mean it's comming to AUS?

My favorite Megadeth album is Rust in Peace, pretty much all the songs are very listenable. I bought Peace Sells a while ago, and just couldn't get into it as much. About a week ago, I tried out Peace Sells again, upon my second evaluation; I find it is a damn good album. The Conjuring, Good Mourning/Black Friday, and Devil's Island are ace songs.

So June 10th, Ellefson is coming to a local venue with his band F5 and the guy who's organizing the concert is trying to get Dave Mustaine to come down from Fallbrook, which is probably about 20 minutes away from the venue. If Mustaine comes down that'd be awesome.
Heavy Metal Kid you should try to go to this. It's only like 10 bucks... and it's a small venue, if Mustaine doesn't come down, we'd at least get to meet Ellefson. Which would be awesome.

I just bought the Countdown To Extinction album for $10.00 and it I am extremley satisfied! The first album I bought by Megadeth was Rust In Peace which I love dearly, then The System Has Failed which was an incredible album, and then I got Peace Sell's...and besides the title track I found it to be a let down, and the worst Megadeth album I own.
I'm really getting into Megadeth alot lately, and Im starting to favour them alot more than Metalica. Before I considered them to be pretty much equal. But Dave's lyrics are way better than Metallica's, and the songs are great, and not to mention The System Has Failed kicks St. Angers *** (and I like St. Anger) but sadly St. Anger sold more just because of the name attached to it.

Well nothing stands out to much on that album alot of the songs sound similar. I do like Wake Up Dead especially the sudden change near the end of the song, and I love Peace Sells. And Good Mourning/Black Friday is pretty good. I didnt say it was a bad album, I said that it was the worst album I own and I own Countdown To Extinction, The System Has Failed, and Rust In Peace I think one of my main problems with the albums is that the vocals are really buried under the wall of sound that the guitars and drums create.
