MEGADETH: 'Arsenal Of Megadeth' DVD Collection Details Revealed - Jan. 28, 2006
MEGADETH has teamed with Capitol Records/EMI Music Catalog Marketing to unleash "Arsenal of Megadeth", a new comprehensive two-disc DVD collection available March 21. A visual career anthology containing 32 previously unreleased clips, "Arsenal of Megadeth" chronicles the rise and evolution of the band, providing fans with a heavy metal armory of music videos, interviews, home video shot by MEGADETH's own Dave Mustaine and hidden tracks. Clocking in at almost three hours, "Arsenal of Megadeth"'s tracklist was personally compiled by Mustaine, ensuring the ultimate head-hammering MEGADETH experience.
Following the 2005 release of MEGADETH's "Greatest Hits: Back to the Start" CD and deluxe CD/DVD collections of singles and fan favorites, "Arsenal of Megadeth" provides fans with the most in-depth look ever provided into the band's storied history. In addition to 20 of the band's music videos, "Arsenal" contains a bevy of career-spanning previously unreleased material, including behind the scenes audition footage, a 1995 band appearance on MTV's "Most Wanted", a clip of Dave Mustaine's guest appearance on "The Drew Carey Show", and concert footage from 2005's Gigantour — essential cuts for every Megafan.
In 2005, MEGADETH was the headbanging, headlining act of Dave Mustaine's Gigantour, a tour founded on the principles of "fan-friendly" pricing and accessibility to the music. Mustaine's vision for Gigantour was to "put together a festival that consisted of positive bands that play heavy music in a high energy environment." 2005's inaugural Gigantour did just that and was an immense international success. "Arsenal of Megadeth" contains previously unreleased concert footage from the tour, including a live performance of MEGADETH's metal anthem, "Peace Sells".
MEGADETH was formed in 1983, and in the words of "The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years" director Penelope Spheeris, "[have] always been intelligent and uncompromising; they gave an entire generation a new perspective on our troubled world."
MEGADETH members Dave Mustaine, Glen Drover (lead and rhythm guitar), James MacDonough (bass) and Shawn Drover (drums) keep themselves engaged with their fanbase by regularly posting to the official MEGADETH web site (www.megadeth.com). The site connects fans to the MEGADETH eBay auction site and fan forums, and provides up-to-date official information on all things MEGADETH.

True they did do a bit of talking. Basically all Dave said was "I live up the street from here" "and goodbye"
I didn't really hear him say that. All I really remember about them was that, the singer started yelling, "Hey! Hey! Hey!" nobody did anything and he said, something about the only true fans being up front. I was really to busy waiting in line to get some autographs.

MEGADETH Part Ways With Bassist JAMES MACDONOUGH - Feb. 10, 2006
MEGADETH have parted ways with bassist James MacDonough. In a posting on the band's official forum, James wrote, "I just wanted to say thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome and thank you for all the awesome memories along the road. I will not be playing with MEGADETH any longer. I'm sure Dave [Mustaine, MEGADETH mainman] will post about it soon. Thanks again my metal brothers and sisters."
Could MacDonough's departure signal the return of MEGADETH's original bassist David Ellefson? In a a February 4, 2006 online posting on the band's web site, Mustaine wrote, "I said it before, [and] I'll say it again: I once was resentful, but now I am over the feuds with METALLICA, Ellefson, whomever. I have actually met with Ellefson one-on-one for dinner last year around [Christmas] to just clear the air and let him know I have no hard feelings and wanted to remain friends with him. We have talked on the phone numerous times since."
MEGADETH's next live appearance is scheduled for March 16 at the Desert Rock 2006 festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

I don't want Ellefson back. I also do not want Friedman or Menza back. A reunion like that would just cause a ton of turbulence in the band again. This would then likely lead to Dave disbanding Megadeth again. I am waiting for Dave to post about this on the Megadeth forums, I want to hear from the general himself.

Actually, I think Megadeth does have a lot of melody in their thrash, one of the reasons I prefer them to say Slayer (Although Slayer definately has the factor of speed over Megadeth, Megadeth has more melody imo).

Kinda like the Megadeth site. That place is hardly ever updated.
Well, the 10 finalists for the Vic Design Contest have been announced.

yeah me neither :/ 2nd last was probably my favourite one, i just think it'd be a good idea on what's probably deth's last album to have vic escaping his caps.
ok sorry but #4 is especially lame. wtf. 3D vic (outdated-looking 3D vic, for that matter) is not a good idea.

Nah, Iced earth are waaay ahead of them.
Death didn't have consistent line-ups either. I think they changed the lineup every single album, didn't they?

The same posters pretty much, and the Metallica thread is used more, so I figured... If I put it here, no one will enjoy it. If I put it in the Metallica thread, even the Metallicats would enjoy it.
P.S. Mustaine's solo on the twin neck (Mary Jane too ) pwns Marty.
