Can Dave fly?
No

But still I like the way Marty comes up with his own scales to fit the songs which he bases the solos on.

MUSTAINE DOES NOT WRITE FRIEDMANS SOLOS! You sir, are largely misinformed. Last time I checked Marty wrote his own parts.

Friedman wasn't around while Dave was writing all of rust in peace, it was only when they went to record that they replaced poland with friedman. Dave wrote pretty much all the solos in rust in peace which is, arguably, the best megadeth album by far.

I'm sorry but that's wrong. Listen to the demos and the solos are different. Friedman most definitely writes his own leads, I mean have you listened to Dragon's Kiss?

Possibly, he came back for TSHF, so why not the new one? Too bad Marty doesn't want to do anything with Megadeth.

Yeah, i'm not a big fan of Drover. I mean, he's good and all but... he doesn't have a unique sound compared to Poland or Friedman IMO.

Yeah I wouldn't count out poland. Though he seems pretty busy lately.

Have you gotten to hear his leads on Lamb of God's Ashes of the Wake?

God that is pure talent. Hopefully if he does something on the next Megadeth album, it'll sound similar to that.

For fans of megadeth's older stuff, The 05' tour was great, since the band Dave was touring with wasent the band he recorded with the band wasent as phsycd to play all their new stuff. unfortunatly, they didnt go back far enough for the Killing is my Business...and Business is Good days. :(

BUT IT STILL KICKED ***!! \m/
They played Mechanix when I saw them.

TWNAH isn't all that great. I do like Return To Hangar though.

Ohhhh man I didn't get to see Gigantour when it came around. Im SO mad because Dream THeatre and Megadeth are 2 of my fave metal bands around!!!! (I think fear factory toured with them too and I Love them too!!)

Anyways If they go back on tour im going to go see htem wherever they go!

Was wondering what your fave megadeth song is at the moment (and i know it's probably been asked a million times but WHATEVER)

Right now my fave megadeth song has to be Shadow of Deth and Truth be told - both from the new album. but my fave album at the moment has to be Youthanasia which is an amazing piece of work!!!

Seeing as Megadeth is a great band, I decided to start a thread for them. Hopefully this will get cough*official*cough. So the next Megadeth album is out in September. Do you think they will have a tour to go with it? I really want to see them live.
I have no doubt about them being good, but one of there members is formally from Metallica and he says leaving Metallica for Megadeth was the biggest mistake of his life, sorry , just wanted to make that clear, carry on

Everyone knows that Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica. It's not really a secret. He was bitching about it for years.

Yeah but apparently there's some reason that "will one day be revealed", why he was kicked out of 'Tallica.
It was probably because he was too awesome.

Killing Is My Business!!!
Rust In Peace!!!
Countdown to Extinction!!!

I hate peace sells and I hate The SYstem Has Failed and all teh new ****. They've gotten crap. Its cool that Menza is back but they will never be the same again its pretty much the legendary Megadave fighting a losing battle to keep his band alive.

Marty Friedman is a retard now. I used to love that guy until i met him in person at a guitar clinic. He told everyone he doesnt listen to metal anymore and now he's into J-Pop and Canto Pop. It may have been to flatter the audience but I felt like kicking his *** for it, I asked him to sign my rust in peace CD sleeve and went home very unsatisfied.

Sweating Bullets isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's meant for Megadeth enthusiasts to practice their Mustaine vocal impersonations and laugh till they drop.

So what, it's his choice to do what he wants. Liking J-Pop and Canto Pop doesn't make him a crappy guitarist. Maybe he's sick of metal after playing it for 15 years non-stop.
You asked him to sign it and he did? Yet you went home unsatisfied?

I went home unsatisfied because because I lost all respect for this man that I had once respected. This is not just because he listens to pussy music now. It is also because of the short conversation we had. I spoke to him of myself as a guitarist and asked him of my chances for the future. He told me 'It doesn't really matter how good you are, it's how good you look while doing it.' I was shocked by this stupid statement and coming from someone like him it wasn't great. I am open to the possibility he was just being a bit of a **** and screwing with me.

He said it. In a way its true and I agree. I just felt it was wrong to ahve come from him. 'How good you look while doing it" Basically your audience are not all professional guitarists, if you put on a good show and aren't that horrible you should be OK and they wont tell, turn your distortion up and do a lot of tricks. If you don't beleive he said it there isn't much I can do about that, my friends were there and they all heard it but it would be unrealistic to assume they can offer proof in any way if you remain skeptic. I'd rather you didnt insult my intergity by calling me a liar and a 'poor' one at that cos I'm not lying.

Oh, I interpreted what you originally said wrong, sorry. I though you meant he said it was all about looking good.
