I disagree with this. Guitar tones are different, James and Dave have two completely different voices, also Megadeth and Metallica have different stlyes of playing. The only similarities I see in them is Mechanix and The Four Horsemen.

Megadeth is thrash up until Countdown to Extinction. Metallica was thrash on KEA and then started to become more diverse.

I'm pretty open minded beyond that.

You know, senses fail (unfortunately) was the first big name show that I went to. I was trying to be friendly with my boss at Jack in the Box and he absolutely loved this band. I got to knock out a couple of emo kids so that was fun. I love mosh pits.
I wanted to get CTE but quite a few ppl here said it isn't worth it. I got PSBWB from happy so I don't have to worry about that. Hmmm, maybe I'll just hold off from megadeth for a while. I wouldn't mind having KIMB though.

I witnessed a massive beer bottle and knife fight while seeing the Agent Orange/Bad Samaritans show in Lancaster, Ca. It was cool. Some dude got cut pretty deep and at least 10 people were arrested. They told the bands that they had to take at least a 10 minute break so things could get sorted out. Awesome show.

Back to Megadeth though. I want to meet the guy who got his leg broken
by Dave
I'm seeing Fear factory and Strapping Young Lad on the 30th.
dave broke somebody's leg? whoa now that's crazy. What happened?

Singing and playing isn't easy. Most people can't do it when they're perfectly normal. And mustaine did it good or maybe even better when he was drunk out of his mind.
-Just a quick thing. On the Metallica thread they are discussing the essential 10 metal albums and on all of them Megadeth's Rust in Peace is mentioned. Some of them don't have metallica but they still have RiP In the metallica thread. haha. Go Megadeth:thumb:

exactly. James sounds like a dying horse at times on SA but Dave on TSHF still sounds almost exactly like dave on KIMB. Besides Dave can alter his voice and make different tones James just has his growl. Look at the difference between the voices on Dawn Patrol and Holy Wars. Now look at the difference between the voices on Master of Puppets and Welcome Home (Sanitarium)

James and Dave have both sounded better at times. I dont think anyone compares to the vocals James layed down on the black album. But james however sounds horrible now, probably due to the lack of alcohol. Dave is more constant with his singing, but the re-releases of the old albums like RIP sound worse than the originals. Tornado of Souls sounds like a little gremlin singing the chorus.

With the comparison between James and Mustaine...
Mustains voice is horrible on a huge ammount of song. I heard that ...Peace Sells and Who's Buying was one of their best albums. It had some good songs, but the whole album was pretty much ruined by how horrible Dave's voice sounded on the album.
I can sometimes handle Dave's vocals and actually like them, but just on that whole album it was extremely horrible to hear. I don't even know what it is about his voice that I dislike, it's just not too great on my ears.
James- I like his vocals because, again I don't even know. He isn't the best vocals, but I could understand him quite easily. It was extremely easy to get into his voice because of how melodic the songs were behind (Nothing else Matters, Fade to Black, My Friend of Misery). He has a really calm voice and a really horrible St. Anger Rhaspy voice which is horrible.
Either way, James>Dave- voice wise.

dude wtf is your avatar. I thought you'd have a pic of Kirk Hammet. I just took a look at it and thought of the Jesus of Suburbia vid by green day. It looks EXACTLY like the guy from that. Just that he's gayer in the vid.
That was from his Load and Reload days:lol:

Oh come on, it wouldn't be that bad, and if you watch Some Kind of Monster it would seem that Dave is still constantly What if-ing about Metallica anyway.

Just because you cut your hair doesn't mean you sold out.

So, who does you guys want to see on Gigantour 2? Should they keep some old bands or get all new ones?
I would love to see any of Avenged Sevenfold, Children of Bodom, Anthrax, Dream Theater, or Iron Maiden on there. The one I went to over the summer sill had Dream Theater co-headlining, so I never got to see Anthrax. Ironically I fell in love with them after the tour though.

Yeah I'd love to see Maiden on there. Metallica would be a dream come true but I doubt that will ever happen. Bodom would be cool too.

Sevenfold don't deserve to be anywhere near G2.
My dream lineup:
First Stage:
Co-Headliner: Megadeth
Co-Headliner: Iced Earth
Sadus (would never happen but their new album is coming out in Feb)
Devin Townsend Band
Second Stage:
Headliner: In Flames
Helloween
God Forbid
Amon Amarth

Why not?
Because Gigantour is in America, it's too far for me to travel and it's doubtful it'll ever come to England.

I heard a new track on their myspace, and sadly it was kind of bland. At least we still have Illusions to keep us happy :D

I doubt Maiden or Metallica will go on Gigantour.
Bodom is more realistic though.
