My biggest gripe was that the only song that surprised me was She-Wolf. Everything else was 100% predictable.
They played STWA at my show, that supirsed me.

What's the big deal with their stage presence? Im there to watch them play the songs I love, not to run around stage, headbanging, and talking. Sure those things are great too dont get me wrong, but I am there for the music first and foremost.
MAthiAS
09-11-2005, 01:10 AM
I can listen to the music at home for free.
vashts80
09-11-2005, 01:14 AM
You're missing the thing. They DO headbang. They do move around. Everybody says they don't, but they do. Same with Dream Theater. Myung moves, Petrucci moves, LaBrie moves, Portnoy is active behind his hugantic drumkit, and Rudess is always turning his keyboard and smiling.
MAthiAS
09-11-2005, 01:21 AM
Don't give me that bullshit, DT don't move outside of a little bit from Labrie.
Deth don't headbang very well anymore... they're not into it.
vashts80
09-11-2005, 01:27 AM
I will give it to you, because it's true. DT aren't DEP where they're jumping off their amps, but all of them were hugely active, for THEM. Maybe not for a band like Dillenger Escape Plan, but comparing it to them on the ToT tour, they're a lot more active.
MAthiAS
09-11-2005, 01:29 AM
Yeah technically they're moving. But they're still boring live.

I told him I haven't heard that song before, thinking that I haven't and as it turns out I had previously burned a copy of my friends assorted collection of Megadeth songs and it was on there. Kinda funny as I really liked the intro to that song but I didn't know what the name of it is. Now I can go and tell my friend that I'd be more that happy to do a cover of that song with him. Anyone else read the statement Dave made today? I found it here (http://www.blabbermouth.net). It seems like it implies Megadeth with continue, and they will be on Gigantour again next year.
If they do they better change the setlist, it was almost the exact same from BTU tour and Gigantour.

I think he was definetly a heroin addict before that, I think the first time he tried it was when recording KIMB... cause it was Chris Poland and/or Gar Samuelson who got him into that. And then he was doing speedballs also which is a mixture of heroin and cocaine (a pretty deadly one too).

I think he would just play 4 or 5 of the classics and leave it at that.
I would much rather he kept Megadeth going. Why bother going solo when Megadeth is him doing all the song writing? I also want to see if this new lineup can bring something interesting (If they get a chance).
I for one, would much rather go see Megadeth than Dave Mustaine solo.
****, I kinda like Metallica, although can't really say I like anything after Master of Puppets though, and Metallica with Mustaine, as seen on Power Metal/No Life 'Til Leather is pretty much the best they can get..
But that said, I do prefer Megadeth (But both are probably my favourite 2 bands.. With Dream Theater coming in 3rd)...
Dave's just released concistently good material, there shouldn't even be a comparison since '91, that is the year Megadeth completely shat on Metallica imo... (Although I could say the same thing about 88, but too many people like ...AJFA :p)
I finally conviced my non-believer friends too :D
When I first started showing them Megadeth they hated it, but they all love Megadeth now. So good.

Yeah, I don't know.
I think he's too far removed from his thrash days to join another band. That'd be sick though.

Probably.
Exodus should have got him when Rick left. That would have been cool, since the two bands are friends
i'm dreaming lol

Although it would be interesting to see Dave in Exodus, it wouldn't work for two reasons.
1. Daves style is too different from Garys.
2. Putting two people together that normally write 90% of the material for their bands will not work.
Plus you need Dave for his witty comments when he's on the mic :p

True. There'd be too many arguments.

Why doesn't Mustaine sue Metallica if he thinks they stole his songs for Master of Puppets and Kill Em' All?

Cause they gave him writing credits on Kill Em All and he has no way of proving he wrote the riff on Leper Messiah.

That's funny, because wasn't Dime going to join Megadeth before Rust In Peace, but he decided to stick with Pantera instead?

Yep. Dime didn't join because Dave didn't want Vinnie Paul in the band, but Dime wouldnt join unless he was in.

I don't think anybody else bidded on this. I could be wrong though. Let me check......
Correction: one other person bidded on this and it was a very weak bid at that.
