I think he sounds best on Cryptic Writings. But for personal preference I'd say Peace Sells aswell.
Peace Sells has the best vocals IMO.

High Speed Dirt is one of my Deth favorites.... How can you not like it, its like Skin O My Teeth with more solos.
Best vocal album is Cryptic Writings... Dave's vocals are definitely better on the non thrash albums.

 I think that's one of the highlights! especially the bluesy part Marty does.
VicRattlehead99
04-21-2005, 04:28 PM
i would say the highlights of that album are psycotron, symphony of destruction, countdown to extinction, and my personal favorite of the album ashes in youre mouth.
Possibly my favourite song off CTE is Architecture Of Aggression, I like Symphony Of Destruction a lot too.
ThrashMaster27
04-21-2005, 04:59 PM
My fave song from Countdown to Extinction is the title track. The chorus is a classic singalong. Saying that, I'm not a big fan of Countdown, it's one of my least fave 'Deth albums.
Is it just me, or does that song sound frighteningly similar to a Nirvana song?
(The alternative version does... )
ThrashMaster27
04-21-2005, 06:00 PM
It does? what Nirvana song?
Chris got slaughtered in the Guitarist poll, I'm not a happy man.
I don't know.
Any Nirvana song really, what I'm getting at is the drawling vocals ("Endaaaaangers species caaaaaaaged in freight, shot iiiiiin cold blood no chaaaaance to fight") and the clean guitar banging out chords in the background.
It's reminiscent of a Nirvana song, I just can't put my finger on it...
ThrashMaster27
04-21-2005, 07:40 PM
Can't say I notice anything remotely Nirvana in the song.
All go vote for Marty in the Guitarist poll.
Well, seems I'm the only one who doesn't like High Speed Dirt.
Pyschotron is good though.

So... about the Gigantour second stage:
To give you a glimpse at who was submitted and seem to be in the running, they are Dry Kill Logic, Diecast, Otep, Overkill, Pain of Salvation, Taproot and Mike Portnoy’s recommendation, Symphony X.
I really hope he throws out Taproot and brings Symphony X, Overkill, and Testament.
Symphony X is the only one I would care to see. But the Main Stage makes up for that.

What's with Megadeth going on tour with these crappy death metal bands, like dillinger escape plan. Dream Theatre and Megadeth is all I'm looking forward to.
The Dillenger Escape Plan aren't death metal.
I believe they prefer to be called "Math Metal"

Literally adding time signatures up to create new weird and wacky ones, it's not a STYLE of music, but it is unique. Other Math Metaller's are Meshuggah.

That article was really interesting, though I think the truth of it may be stretched a bit. It's good that Dave took the initiative to clear things up, but it seemed like he was bitching a lot of the time, especially about people not appologizing to him. He was putting himself above everyone else.

Well, considering that he really was ****ed up all the friggin time, and he was ruiing it for everybody else, its no wonder he got kicked out. Hell, if I was in a band that had a chance of making it big, and one guy was always getting violent and never showing up for rehersals, I'd kick him out without thinking twice.
And Mustaine realy should stop bitching about them "stabbing him in the back". A lot of people get ****ed over by their so called friend at some point. But ya knw what? I call it wasting money because its ludicrous to pay $55+ to see a sell-out band with a washed-up singer, overrated guitarist, bitchy untalented drummer, and overlooked bassist when I saw Megadeth for $35.
And there are some good quality Tallica videos out there, its pretty easy to find em.

The Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) was a committee formed in 1985 by the wives of several congressmen.

Hook in Mouth is about KIMB, PS and then SFSGSW in the fact that the PMRC was made specifically to put the "Parental Advisory" sticker on music and movies etc. It's basically saying how the PMRC controls album covers with the Parental Advisory stickers etc and that they're assholes.

ThrashMaster27
05-02-2005, 12:02 AM
Intro riff to Symphony of Destruction. Easiest song to play solos and all is Mechanix for me, althoughs it's probably not the easiest. Hardest to play with all the solos is probably Holy Wars. Mind you, I haven't tried doing every Megadeth song on Guitar.... I've never attempted all the solos in Hangar 18.
Apocalyptic Raids
05-02-2005, 12:05 AM
Okay, so we've done the easiest, so what would you guys consider the hardest riff/song?
I would say, for the whole song, Hanger 18. I think for riffs.... either Holy Wars or Rust in Peace... Polaris.
MAthiAS
05-02-2005, 12:27 AM
Hardest solos, definitely Tornado of Souls and Hangar 18. Riffs, I haven't tried many, but I can play Holy Wars (with solos too, but not 100%) so I wouldn't say that.
Apocalyptic Raids

On the remasters, Dave gives a little blurb about it (The demo version) and says the drum beat he wrote back in his 'Panic' days! Which says to me the guy could have been an accomplished drummer too.

What's the Mechanix remix 2002? I've never heard it.
Mechanix IS, in all reality, The four horsemen (by metallica) only played much faster
I think the remix is just the remasteredd version of the re-released version of KIMB, so it's just a better sounding version of it.

Im listeing to KIMB right now, (straight off the cassett) and it sounds great to me, what was remastered?
Just re-EQ'ed and stuff I believe, plus it had some demos on it. The same treatment that the rest of the albums got.

Oh i see, i was hoping they didnt reverb it to death (wich has happend before)
Everything sounds much better on the re-releases, and I give Dave credit, he did a great job.

Does anyone else think megadeth makes the WORST videos ever? i mean peace sells, was practically daves mouth for 5 minuets, then sweating bullets... i try to forget it..
I wont doubt that megadeth is my favorite band, but the videos just... suck!
A Tout Le Monde was a GREAT video.
But the rest suck, Trust and Symphony Of Destruction are average...

Train of Consequences, Of Mice and Men, Wake Up Dead, and Peace Sells had awesome videos. Die Dead Enough and Sweating Bullets on the other hand...

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Wake up Dead video. That's the one where the fans are breaking down the fence right? If so, great video. I haven't seen Of Mice and Men, but the song is cool.
