Did you ever think that I needed love
Did you ever think to stop thinking
You’re the only one that I’m thinking of.
You’ll never know how hard I tried
To find my space and satisfy you too.
But oh how I lived my life for you
Still you’d turn away
Now as I die for you
My flesh still crawls as I breathe your name
All these years I thought I was wrong

No one else from Metallica or their management did. I went straight to the dope man, got some **** and starting singing and crying and writing this song. Although the lyrics have nothing to do with him, his untimely passing gave me this melody that lives in the hearts of metal heads around the world." - Dave Mustaine

dave wrote the song, completly-which according to him was the only time he has ever done that-the day that cliff died after he found out the news. chirs poland was still in the band, and supposedly had a hand in writing it. the lyrics are about a girl that dave loved, who loved him back, but according to him they were "so toxic together" and it didn't work out. and now we have in my darkest hour.

Menza did come back, I guess they couldn't work things out. Marty's out in Japan, so I doubt that he would come back either. It's probably best that Marty doesn't come back into Megadeth, as he's into the J-pop scene now. Ha, I have the Conjuring live on my Hangar 18 7" Vinyl, it's a classic.

Well, I saw Megadeth last night. Glen's an impressive Guitarist...I wasn't to keen on James though, his Bass solo didn't get me too excited. Anyway, I've posted the set list on the Titans thread, but I'm gonna post it here aswell.
Blackmail The Universe
Die Dead Enough
The Scorpion
Something That I'm Not
Kick The Chair
Back In The Day
She-Wolf
Trust
Holy Wars
Hangar 18
Return To Hangar
Tornado Of Souls
Wake Up Dead
Peace Sells
My Last Words
Mechanix
Skin o' My Teeth
Symphony Of Destruction
Sweating Bullets
Angry Again
Paranoid
A Tout Le Monde
Train Of Consequences
Set The World Afire
In My Darkest Hour
I thought the Mechanix wasn't gonna be played, as they announced Holy Wars as the last song...but half way through they stopped and played Train of Consequences and Mechanix, it was rather good. There was a nice banner up on the balcony aswell that read "**** Metallica, Megadeth No.1" Dave looked up at it at the end of the gig and nodded in an agreeing way. Anyway! it was top notch.

wat kind of dreams? Or do I not want to know......
I talked about them a while back in this thread. In one I was in my parents' car and we were just driving down the street and saw Dave walking on the sidewalk. I was just like "Holy **** its Dave Mustaine stop the ****ing car!" and so I started talking to him. I said "WTF man you're supposed to be touring in Europe!" (at the time he was) and he was just "Oh **** you're right, could you guys give me a ride to the airport?" So we drove him to the airport, and while waiting for his flight, he got a mushroom haircut. I wasn't too happy about it, but then I woke up.
My other one I dreamed that I won that contest where you send in one of your original songs to Dave and he picks a winner. The winner gets an ESP DV8. So I dreamed I won it, and Dave personally came to my house to give it to me. Since he was there, I invited him into my basement/room and we jammed all day. Twas a good dream.

dave has more to bring to the table for a band. he writes alot of lyrics and guitar. He solos really well. And hes been threw more than kirk so I think he automaticly should deserve a pat on the back. He was kicked out of one band...so he just decided to make his own. Apocalyptic Raids

I think Dave has let it go, but the media hasn't.
If he has a banner at his show saying FVCK METALLICA, I don't think he's let it go.
Personally always prefered Megadeth to Metallica.
Just opinions though, you have to take into consideration of the quality of albums.
METALLICA:
Kill 'Em All, Great album, really thrashy, my favourite.
Ride The Lightning, Excellent album, some great tunes.
Master Of Puppets, OMG ALBUM AND A HALF .
And Justice For All, a little bit inconsistent, but the good songs are some of the best.
Metallica, well, clearly comercialised, but still good.
Load and Re-load, meh, not much to say.
St. Anger, eh...
MEGADETH:
Killing Is My Business, a little bit of a rip off of K'EA, but hits the right spot.
Peace Sells, classic, an abosulte stand out album.
So Far So Good..., This gets slated a lot, undeservedly in my opinion, there are some of Megadeth's best tracks on here, but there are a few "filler tracks also".
Rust In Peace, what else can I say about one of my favourite albums ever...?
Coundown To Extinction, a great album, not just thrash, shows some lighter elements.
Youthnasia, a good album with some excellent songs, if a little inconsistent.
Cryptic Writings, a very soft album, but some thrash songs on it, again a little inconsistent.
Risk, the last MEGADETH album, it's ok, nothing more I suppose.
So you see, I find Megadeth more consistent than Metallica, just an opinion, of course.:)

Apocalyptic Raids
04-19-2005, 04:01 AM
Spider riffing where you have two power chords that you want to play that are near each other, but on two adjacent pairs of strings. Rather than fingering one with the first and third fingers, then moving the same fingers to the other position, you leave your hand where it is and finger the other chord with the second and forth fingers instead, or vice versa. It provides an economy of motion that's beneficial when playing a fast riff as the transition from one chord to the other will be MUCH smoother.

I bet you'd like Killing is my Business, Peace Sells, and Rust in Peace more than CTE if RTL is your favorite Tallica album.

hey everyone, i've never posted here.
i'm a huge metallica fan, and i really like some of the stuff that dave did with the band. i haven't really heard much megadeth and so i was thinking about buying one of their albums. which one should i buy?
Get Rust in peace. It's as good as any metallica album

i agree but lately i have been mad at metallica for St.anger so i beleive that the first five albums are good but past that i dont like.
I'll add my small input to this discussion.
The order I got my Megadeth albums were:
Rust In Peace,
So Far So Good So What!
Countdown To Extinction,
Peace Sells.
(These are the best albums, It, as previously said, completely depends on your personal tastes, RIP is thrashy, SFSGSW! is kind of experimental, CTE is hard rock, and Peace Sells is heavy (post Black Album Metallica) metal)
:)

I think KIMB is the thrashiest, more so the RIP.

???
It's all opinion really, but I have a few things to say about it:
As we all know, Dave was with Metallica during the songwriting and (some of the) recording sessions of K'EA, obviously, when he was fired, he still owned a series of leases for songs, The Four Horsemen, is a prime example, now take Mechanix, very (VERY) similar to The Four Horsemen, after he was fired, he created KIMB...A great album, but still a slight copy of K'EA.
What I like a lot about R.I.P is the fact that it's Mustaine on his own, no outside sources, no problems happening and evolving around him, it's a completly original album, and allthough not TECHNICALLY as heavy as KIMB, it is a better Thrash album in that sense.
(Did that make sense?)
???Megadeth's debut album, Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!

i would agree with you except the fact of KIMB is not on therebut we all have different tastes.

Peace Sells is heavy (post Black Album Metallica) metal
Uhh... what? I've always felt Peace Sells is a bit overrated, but its definitely a thrash classic.

Meh, KIMB is awesome, Dave just took the stuff that he wrote and used it, its not like he stole any of Metallica's work.

I don't see how KIMB is similar to Kill 'Em All. The rhythms are a lot more tricky on KIMB and the leads are wackier. I'd say KIMB is more an album with Dave on his own, seen as how he wrote all the songs and did 9 of the 13(?) solo's. Rust In Peace had a few co-written stuff with Ellefson and Marty did a hell of a lot of the solos. Anyway it matters little, I can't decide which album I like better out of the two.
One things for sure though. So Far, So... So What! is one of the most underrated Metal albums. Also, it's a shame that KIMB had such thin production, but I guess that's Daves fault for spending $4000 of the $8000 they had for production on drugs.
I really like SFSGSW, probably my favourite 'Deth album...

One thing that annoys me about SFSGSW is how Anarchy In The UK comes straight after Set The World Afire.
i'm enjoying STWA and then ****! Anarchy In The UK comes on, which makes me sad in the pants :(
Ewww...your pants are sad.

yeah, that usually makes my pants sad too. i just skip over it and go straight into mary jane. i've always done it that way, and when i'm playing the album in my head in class it goes in that order--just right over anarchy in the u.k.
Uhh... what? I've always felt Peace Sells is a bit overrated, but its definitely a thrash classic.

Meh, it's all opinion, I like PSBWB? a lot, but it isn't as heavy as some of Megadeth's other stuff.
This is my opinion, Dave had a hand at writing some of the songs on K'EA, so, he obviously wouldn't have wanted that to go to waste, so he kinda borrowed some of the stuff, know what I mean?

OMG I KNOW!!!
It's like, the cd starts with into the lungs of hell, which is an awesome opener, then STWA keeps the momentum going, but anarchy just kills it. I know dude i feel the same.
Anarchy is a horrible song.
It's a bad song in the first place, but what the hell was Dave thinking trying to cover it?
It really slows down the album, but Liar, Hook In Mouth, In My Darkest Hour, Into The Lungs Of Hell And Set The World Afire are all awesomely cool songs.

I don't like the original, but I think the 'Deth version is great. I really don't see why so many people are always badmouthing it
A punk song covered by a band specialising in Metal and Thrash was bound to go down badly.
Arise II

Notnecessarily, considering Thrash owes a lot of it sound to Punk
Jesus...
I didn't think of it that way.
You win that argument hands down.

I like the Anarchy cover a lot, even more than the original because they put more energy into it. Dave said he and the band were listening to lots of punk at the time, so they covered it.
Also, it's a shame that KIMB had such thin production, but I guess that's Daves fault for spending $4000 of the $8000 they had for production on drugs.
How metal of him though.
It's true.
He even said of Peace Sells, the album could have been better had he not have wasted the production money on "Non-Musical Things"
:p

The Peace Sells production isn't that bad anyway.
I like the Anarchy cover a lot, even more than the original because they put more energy into it.
Same, SFSGSW just has the best songs, to compare it to another abum, I would compare it to Metallica's Ride The Lightning, in the sense I can listen to the whole thing without skipping one song.
I reckon Mustaine sings best on SFSGSW too, I dunno why, I just think he has teh best sound :x
