No the draw on the bandwidth of a server affects the bandwidth of a server period. It's not like the server has individual bandwidth for each thread =\ What you notice as a user is the loading times and yes that is only noticeable in larger threads but the strain on the server still exists.

It's been alright this week, but the past few weeks the server has been pretty dodgy.

This server is a steaming diarrheal pile of ****, but the reason for PMs not being enabled is because on a board of this size (you have to consider all the forums, not just R&M), it wouldn't be logistically sound.

Four potential alternatives:

- PM via the reputation system
- Ask the person you want to communicate with to e-mail you in a community thread
- Look at his/her profile and look up contact info
- Smoke signals

A certain big-name metal forum is a LOT bigger than MX and it has a pm system. It probably has a better server, but that goes against the size argument.
