Well, I kind of have an idea that seems kind of fun. What are the odds of having a competition based on the R&M Mxers' ability to write song lyrics? Since I haven't been thinking of this idea for too long, I'm guessing there will be a lot of bugs to work out, but when it finally comes to fit, I think this could be a great monthly series that will compliment the Songwriting thread really well. As most know, lyrics are included in the Songwriting thread, but their songs aren't judged by their ability to write lyrics.

My idea would be to organize a thead that's like that, with many of the same rules, but it all based on the Mxers' ability to create lyrics. If this idea was granted approval by moderators, we'd only have to figure out who could run it.

Can this idea be considered?

Plus lyrics and poetry are perhaps the one thing more subjective than music. :-/ I think it'd be hard to compare any more than 2 peices at once, and S&L has those battles or whatever for that.

I'm still up for it 'cause I still want to do it, but the only thing that I'd worry about is participation, because it'd be kind of humiliating if I did it but only 3 people submitted, haha. If we all agreed that it's something that we want to do, we could make a poll and see how many R&M'rs would actually submit and entry.

But yeah, I do kind of want to keep this in R&M since we all know each other pretty well, and it'd be pretty cool seeing how many people can actually create really good songs.

I believe we stopped the reccomendation thread because it was getting backed up. Even though the threads do get annoying from time-to-time, they're a lot easier for the person looking for the band.

For now, I believe they're going to kepp them open.

Yeah Dargon always gave people **** for acting like they knew everything when they knew nothing (talking about metal here). It was great because he would never even acknowledge the opponents argument. It would just be "JUMPDAFUKKUP, PHAT PHETUS IS DA ****!" as a response and the people would just feel awkward or stupid and leave the thread. :lol:
