It didn't do him any good because nobody would associate with him anymore. Mirkwood will most likely disband, I have lost interest in Metal, and I have to spend some more time off the computer as I have spent too much time on it when it could have been spent on other things. i have had a great time with you guys, MX has really shown my bands that have changed my life and have too many users to list to thank. I will still use the computer from time to time so you can stay in touch if you like my e-mail is putridwinds@gmail.com . To all of you who have bands, I hope they succeed. even some people whoI havnt gotten along with in the pastm you have made the R&M addictive in the last 2 years. Basically, the reason I have been on these boards has been my interest in Metal above all. Recently I have gotten sick of the music though, as too much garbage is out there and it is just frustrating finding new bands. Even the old bands don't sound as good as they used to to me. perhaps I am simply losing my ear for metal or need a break from it. Currently I've been getting into ambient and EBM and I am quite happy listening to these types of music. Also, I have been lagging in my instrument (upright bass) practice and enthusiasm since I am on the computer too much, due to MX. And since I really want to get into music in college I need to get practicing and I also want some time to hang with friends/go places and ****. I guess, I'm not leaving more than just not being regular anymore. You'll still see me every so often I guess, simply because there are so many great posters on here. As to Mirkwood, my friend wants to sell the music to a band who will then record it (and make profit from it) since he is to lazy to record and his computer won't let him record MIDI for some reason. I also feel I have achieved what i wanted to with the band (a outlet for my metal tastes) and since I am no longer intrigued by the genre I feel no urge to continue making music inspired by it.

Anything that needs clarification, feel free to ask.

This is a huge convenience, but it has become necessary due to the hackers. If you are angry, blame them.

You are going to be logged out a lot more frequently, pretty much whenever you leave the site or the browser. Just log back in, and be comforted by the fact that its preventing hackers from being too evil.

Once I got banned and then demodded because of the ban (Plexi's doing), I didn't really get any of my powers back, so I just said '**** it' and then threw a bitchfit in the mod forum telling mx that he wasn't taking care of the forums. But that's really all I can say, other than that lots of swearing and bruised egos ensued.

If I was put back on the forums, then great, I thought I was a decent forum mod because I was all over the place. If not, it's no big thing at all, and I do think that the staff R&M has currently is superior to the other genre forums in terms of activity. Besides Jelle and Riva, you have Bartender and Med. Bartender is always silent and never calls attention to himself, but you'd be surprised how much work he does around here. And plus I don't really deserve it until I start writing articles and things and just being active... but again, the community thread was my usual stomping ground and it's not nearly as interesting as it used to be. But, hey, people come and go, so that's no concern for me.

Anyways, someone's posting should speak for itself. Mine tends to do so, even if it's an epitaph-laden rant to the site's owner for not giving a **** about the forums and just constantly focusing on the reviews site. Among other things, anyway.

I would consider myself a Black Metal fan, and this has never been my attitude.

Look, guys, mildly amusing as the thread title would be, it's not worth the hassle from the people who can't appreciate irony to do it, so we're probably better off not doing it, the irony of course being that the thread really is a cool place, in my view the best thread on the forums....and making the thread title allude to racism is where the real humour behind such a sggestion would lie.
The whole racism thing is a little bit of a touchy subject on the forums at the minute, admittedly from people who can't tell the difference between mocking racism, and actually being racist.
Like I said, it's not worth the hassle and the argument.
It's not gonna happen, so I think we'd be better off just letting the matter rest, for the sake of the Forum's hard-won harmony.

"chad" aka Light Fantastic was a GIMMICK account of "Klown". I sent AIM chat logs to Jeremy (mx) on AIM. He looked around. Found matching IP's between LF and Klown. Proving Klown (his legit main account) and LF were the same user.
Hence Klown was since perm banned for hacking.

I have not decided exact what I'd like to do another on, but I'd like to clear it with Mods.

It would be a well written thread. Not spam or junk. I'd aim for something where we could have actual discussion, but a good laugh.

You're wrong. All the matching IPs between Light Fantastic and Klown prove is that they have, at one stage or another, used the same proxy. Even if they have shared the same account from time to time (something which is quite possible), then that's still not the same as them being the same person. By your reasoning the matching IPs between chad's accounts and the accounts of AG, mx, Strum and DFelon show that chad is not only Klown but also 3 mods and the site's owner. For them to have been the same person means that Klown would have had to have registered two accounts in 2004 and then inexplicably make one a hacking, spamming gimmick while making the other one his accomplice who was a reasonably good user at the same time. He would have waited a year to do this and then have carried on the act for another year. Does this sound even remotely likely, or is not more likely that they just use the same proxy?

I see no need for three doom threads.
The one on traditional doom can function seperately from the 'general' doom thread. but having to'general' doom threads is a bit ridicilous.
There is one thread with about800 posts, and the other has 200.

Because the rules are a ****ing novel long. And a thread titled simply "Rules" that lies between sticky threads and normal threads isn't going to get noticed. If I was a new user who isn't particularly internet-ish, I would have no idea there were such things as actual rules on an internet forum, nor would I even know what banning was. Half the time people probably don't even notice the search feature. They aren't going to look at the stuff on top, they are going to go to the bottom half and look for threads about the band that concerns them. If the band they are asking information about isn't on the front page, they are going to make a thread about it.

It's not as much of a no-brainer to read rules on an internet forum as you think it would be.
