EddieVanHalen769 and I would like to start a thread dedicated to the uploading/discussion of rare EP's, out-of-print tapes/cd's, 7", and basically rare material.

It could be formatted somewhat like the definitive albums thread, with uploads said material at the end. I think it would be a cool way to get some rare material, start some good discussion, and promote new/unknown bands.

It wouldn't just be a thread full of these posts though. Discussion would be what would make it interesting, rather than scanning a thread with similar posts for a demo you want.

If this doesn't get approved, I'll just end up making a thread on a bunch of different rare bands, :p.

It's no more illegal than the Yousendit Thread or uploading sample songs. It's probably less likely to cause any trouble either, because the demos, etc that I'm talking about are either generally going to be out of print, by a very unknown band, or very limited anyway.

Anything that might cause trouble that was uploaded could be deleted, and I could add in the first post not to upload anything common.

If you can intelligently explain why you hate a certain band, we will generally leave your post alone. This rule applies to replies about bands in threads. Eleventeen, assuming that either a) the mods don't give you a response, or b) they tell you no, why can't you judge make up numbers for your data? Based on peoples' reactions to In Flames around the forums, you could just do that.

However, I can imagine that since it's for school, that they'd allow it. I would recommend that your opening lines say something along the lines of, "This is my statistics (or whatever class it is, I can't remember) final, and I need to collect some data. Very simply, select which In Flames album is your favorite. I appreciate the help.

(insert In Flames discography)."

Then, when you're satisfied with your data, then they'll close it, probably.

But again, I don't know what they'll tell you, if anything.

If anything, you should have learned that you should prepare better for school :p

I asked that a while ago. Apparently Bartender was a supermod before they selected the Mods to mod R&M so he just floats around and helps where he can.

With all the discussion of stickies in this forum, I was wondering if a couple should be unstickied. For example, Poll F of the greatest bassists could be unstickied, and possibly Poll G (if the voting and discussion are over). I know YD does a great job with them, but having three stickies might be a bit much.

I also think the FG should be unstickied. It's been over its limit, and I'm sure that a new FG is going to be up soon.

I don't think so. New threads get closed if they're trying to talk about something that there's already a big thread going on the same subject, but we don't have an official NIN thread that I know of.
