I just checked out Thulsa Doom and they are great. They don't have crappy crust vocals, which is probably why I like them so much.

Anyone heard of Deadfall?
They're from East Bay. I passed up a chance to see them in Berkeley tonight.
Never listened to them, though.

Also, does anyone know if Wolfbrigade are still together? I got In Darkness You Feel No Regrets. It's mindblowing.

Ok. Well, yes, I've heard of Deadfall. We're supposed to play with them in a month or so with BORN/DEAD, but Deadfall it taking forever to get back to us. But they're a great band; most of the east bay scene is good. Check out the Rosenbaums, if you can find them.

As for Wolfbrigade, as amazing as they are, they are broken up. Their vocalist can't scream anymore due to some throat problem.

P.S: heyimsheep1, get the Wolfbrigade album Progression/Regression. One ****ing amazing album right there.

This thread is really active lately, so I just got an idea. Since this is the main discussion thread for Grind, Crust and D-Beat (throwing it in there since it crosses over with crust a lot), it should also have some education. So I think someone (I'm looking at you, J) should write up a couple paragraph explaination of the 3 genres. I will take these explainations and put them in the first post (with credit of course) And it doesn't have to be just one person, you guys can collob on it and such.

They are also cancelling the rest of their tour cause Ryan is having a family emergency back home, but I'm sure they'll still play that show since it's in March.

Oh, and to clarify about Siege and any releases they had, they had 0 releases. They released three songs, "Cold War," "Sad but True" and "Wall," on a compilation called Cleanse the Bacteria which is the only official release they ever did. They recorded a demo tape with their other 6 songs on it. They broke up some time after that, and the tape got bootlegged as a 7" called Drop Dead, probably from the first name. Thier three songs from that comp. also got bootlegged as a split 7" with Deep Wound. Relapse remastered the songs in 1994 or something and released it as a CD. Last year Deep Six released it as an LP. Like Major General Despair said, they reformed briefly in the early 90s with Seth Putnam on vocals instead of Kevin Mahoney. It all fell apart and probably for the better.

The Drop Dead cassette, which was named later, probably by one of the bootleggers, wasn't a demo at all. It could be looked at as one, but at the time, it was the only release they could afford. Vinyl was "too expensive" so they opted to put out a cassette release, hoping money would be made to either press some vinyl or record new songs. The cassettes sold out. I don't remember exactly how many were made, but they sold out and chose not to make any more. This was actually an official release at the time.
Cleanse the Bacteria came next and the three songs were done for that.
After that, it's all boots.
It's amazing that after 20 years, Siege is still looked upon with such reverence, man I'm happy to have know those guys and in some small way, played a part.

For the Anarcho and Crust Debate:
In my opinion, anarcho doesnt have a specific sound. Most believe that anarcho should sound like crass or rudi p. I think its more based around the ideology of anarchy and freedom and what the lyrics are. Crust on the other hand is just a cross breed of Metal and Hardcore Punk. But either way the music still rocks my socks.

For the List:
Antischism(im not sure, but they seem like crust to me)
Dot****ingCom(same as above)
F-Minus(early stuff is considered crust)
Wake up On Fire
AnarchOi
Behind Glass Shadows
Contravene
(for andrew)Doves Lie Dead
DS 13
Resistant Culture
Katastrofialu(Cross between d-beat and crust, if you want to check em out hit me up..ill send you their discograhpy)
Garmonbozia
Circle Takes Square
Born/Dead
Econochrist
Icons of Filth
H-100
Murderers
N.O.T.A.
Social Unrest

Bands i wasnt sure of:
1905
Mankind?
SPAZZ
USV
Crucifix(perhaps)
MDC
And ill throw Protesti in there for tthe hell of it.

But either way the music still rocks my socks.

yes, and to some it up - Anarcho isnt a genre its a description of the music like straight edge

i dunno, man, it sounds like crust to me. yeah it has some thrash riffs going on, and good ones too, but they're not reall thrash. it seemed like it was crust with some thrash and tads of metlcore tossed it, i still think it's crust now that ive heard it.

For those who would like to hear aswell: http://www.flowerviolencerecords.de/MP3/asschapel_.mp3

This is the description given from the Flowerviolence website:
Heavy, thick powered-hardcore with guttural vocals and weaving layered style. Their sound is intense with power of dual vocals and weaving guitars driven by the pummel of a double bass drum. The break into some manic crazy thrash parts too.
