Heh, local band. They play here all the time, but I've never seen them. A bunch of my friends love them though.

I guess at every show the guy strips down to his underwear / diapers (as seen on their profile). My friend said one time someone pulled his pants down and he was running around naked for a while trying to sing and pull his pants up at the same time. Then after the song he's like "Oh man, no one's ever seen my penis before. You guys should feel special."
You have never seen them and they are local? Spencer, you bastard. I have to drive like two hours to see them when they come down here with La Quiete in August.

Speaking of them though go to DUDE FEST in Indy. You will love it.

Well, that depends on which album you listen to. One is PV, and the other is just straight hardcore. Both are great, though.

May I say that I saw Fack...I'm Dead a few weeks ago and it was the most intense thing I've ever seen, too bad there was a fatassed grind nut who kept hitting me, forcing me to leave the pit and just stand there enjoying the onslaught being carried out before me. Wouldn't Pig Destroyer be powerviolence? I hear more punk in them than metal.

Ah ok, they just sound extremely different from all other grind I've heard.

I remember them playing Inject Me With AIDS, Retired21, and they also played Shotgun Facelift. Being right infront of the singer whilst he belched out those awesome, rhythmic growls was amazing. When we were waiting in line he kept walking past us, shame we didn't know it was him. I was a bit disappointed that the guitarist and bassist just stood there, not even bopping their heads.

A question for you Grind/Crust dudes.

It's easier to have discussion of Grind and Crust in one thread, this one seems the most popular. As you know, J has his crust band list. Right now the list is just linked from this post.

I want your opinions, especially J's and Justin's, since these are his threads.

A) we keep them seperate with the crust list linking from here
B) We merge them, moving all the band lists to the first post, maybe add some more education.
C) Make this thread only for Grind and J's only for Crust.

so ive listened to grindcore bands and played against on in battle of the bands(we beat them for obvious reasons) now im just curious for somebody to actually explain the music to me i read the definition and it didnt help me at all. my band is heavily old metallica influenced old metal mixed with some new stuff like the offspring and rhcp. but i read the whole mathcore thing and more complex in musical writings? all it sounds like is noise to me. Tuned down guitars with no real talent and 3 minute double bass beat in every song with some loser holding a microphone making noise in it. More complex in musical writings is only true if by musical writings you mean sexual preference. so ive listened to grindcore bands and played against on in battle of the bands(we beat them for obvious reasons) now im just curious for somebody to actually explain the music to me i read the definition and it didnt help me at all. my band is heavily old metallica influenced old metal mixed with some new stuff like the offspring and rhcp. but i read the whole mathcore thing and more complex in musical writings? all it sounds like is noise to me. Yes, I did! Do you have it? I was so pissed; I left it on top of our car when we left.

Oh, and last night, Relapse played their first show, a surprise set with Iskra, Resistant Culture, and Warfair?.

And Iskra had funny Canadian accents and said "Eh." But were amazing, even if they get lost.

Yeah man, i have your sweater. We found it and i saw it was a dystopia sweater and was SOOOO ****in stoaked. then it clicked that it was probally yours. Ill give it back. I might be commin down to sacto on wednesday or somthing so ill bring it along.

Yes we played our first show, it sucked, and we were horrible. BUT we played with a **** load of good bands(that...didnt hear us play...)

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REPOST... WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT!

Mike Bartek is no longer a part of CODC and for the indefinite time being we are forced into hiatus. We apologize to the promoters and bands we have had shows booked with as well as the fans, as we were about 3/4 of the way through the next full-length release. There was absolutely no way around this. Mike had a list of "qualities" that would have had him tossed from most bands, but friendship was what mostly kept him with us. This time he crossed way over the line and defecated on any concepts of friendship and respect possible and stooped lower than we thought even he would ever go.

So he is gone and an ugly part of the Circles past and, for anyone who has followed CODC through the years, we are once again in the situation of finding a new member. Joe, Jason and Drew have decided to continue on and feel that ultimately, Mike's departure will be a huge blessing in disguise for CODC. After 3 drummers, 3 bass players and 3 guitarists, the machine will hopefully continue on. Plenty of skulls still need crushed.

We will begin tryouts for a new drummer asap. If interested, please contact CODC at salo120@circleofdeadchildren.net We are located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

We laid down some tracks today. We got all the music done for one song, but it's like our longest one, at about 4:14, so it took some time. We're finishing vocals on that one in a day or two, I'll let you know when it's mixed and up. It's ill though, since we have a sound-proof room to record in now, so it sounds hella clean. It's epic, though, with an badass acoustic intro.

Nah, dude, I'm taken.

Didnt you go to hawii? Dont they leigh you right when you get off the plane/ship?

Wouldn't that be spelled lei'd then? But, no, they didn't do that for me, anyways. Cheap bastards.

Anyone dig screamo? I've been spinnin' Amanda Woodward, I Would Set Myself on Fire for You, Pg. 99, and Circle Takes the Square recently.

I'm a pretty big fan. It's primarily what I listen to. Check out Orchid, The Red Scare, Song of Zarathustra, Makara, Shahrazad, City of Caterpillar, Off Minor, and Saetia.

I wan never huge into Orchid, but now I'm starting to think I should give them a second listen. I'm in love with Saetia and City of Caterpillar. Especially Seatia. Makara is sick, too.

P.S: Yeah, CTTS is considered screamo.

Orchid rules so hard. Have you ever heard of Neil Perry? If not, you should really check them out.

Dude, I ****ing LOVE Neil Perry. Have you ever heard the Improv Jams? So chill, especially part one.

And, after giving Orchid a second try, I definately like them more now. All I heard before was their split with Pig Destroyer, and I unfairly labeled them as grind without actually listening. Now, I got Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow!, and it's ill.

I like the video they made for "master of profits".
But I don't like the vocals.

Hewhocorrupts is a quality band. Pretty good.

How about Hellshock? I'm probably driving me and a couple bandmates to Berkeley in late August to see them. They rule.
