Gotta be happy with them!
yes has ben a while since i have racked out my cricket gear was always a kookbabura guy had many bats fave has got to be the ridgeback or the good ol bubble was lovin the m waugh v100 in the early days tho
My first bat was the Bubble. Great bat. Then I had an awesome Duncan Fearnley. That was a beast. Next was the good old Longbow.
i was jus readin some mad funny stories about cricket
have u heard these alf leme go find them
brb
Ormand had just come out to bat on an Ashes tour and was greeted by Mark Waugh.
Mark Waugh: "**** me, look who it is. Mate, what are you doing out here? There's no way you're good enough to play for England."
James Ormond: "Maybe not, but at least I'm the best player in my family."
During 1989 Lords Test, Hughes said to Smith after he played & missed: "You can't ****ing bat."
Smith to Hughes after he smacked him to the boundary: "Hey Merv, we make a fine pair. I can't ****ing bat & you can't ****ing bowl
Some no-name bowler bowls to Viv Richards on an English tour match, beats the outside edge a couple of times. After the 3rd time, the bowler says to Viv "Its 156oz, red and shiny". Next ball is driven clean out of the ground and into a nearby river. Viv walks down the pitch calmly patting down spots on the way, looks up and says to the guy "You know what it looks like, go f**kin find it!"
viv richards one is gold
They are great. I love it when you sledge the batsmen and they pipe back up. Do you play cricket Ben?
no havent played for a few years really miss it tho mighthave to get back into it some time
what about u how is ur season going
My season is going well. Playing juniors and seniors.
Juniors are sitting at about 4th or 5th on ladder, and we were unluckily rained out on Saturday after bundling a top team out for 85.
Seniors is very fun. Playing division 4, and we are one of the top sides.
Good summer fun. You going to any matches this summer? I got my tickets for the first day on the Boxing Day test a few months ago.
nope ihavent even looked when the crickets on will get some tix to the australia day
will get to some redbacks matches but theyw il get slaughtered as per usual adn now theres no boof theres not much excitement
I loved Boof :(. Great way that he went out on though.
TheBigMachine
12-18-2007, 02:11 AM
The redbacks are shockingly bad at the moment. It's disgraceful.
I'm going to the Australia day test in Adelaide. I'm a member :) I feel so special.
Shaky start for the Aussies. Batting first, they are 3-89 after 20. Oram is bowling great. Pity Clarke didn't get a good start. Interesting game now.
ponting and symonds look v good tho now gillespie is copping a hiding
can feel a huge ton coming on by punter in front of the home crowd
Looking good now, Australia are. New Zealand need another wicket, or this could get ugly.

It's a shame we can't get two official teams competing in the world, lots of talent not being given a chance due to the first XI players rarely failing.
note for retards: the above comment is wishful thinking. I'm very aware that it is wishful thinking. Usually it it is assumed that all taking part in discussion are aware that is wishful thinking (including the commentor him/herself). If all are aware that it is wishful thinking, it is usually simply used a conversation device where one can imagine scenarios that are highly unlikely to occur.

Ended day one pretty well in the end.
Even day I would say. I was at the 'G and it was great. Beautiful day, pitch looked to be doing some. Middle order let Australia down. India's spinners bowled well. The 'G's crowd was disappointing.
samthebassman
12-26-2007, 03:24 AM
Kumble and Khan bowled really well, Jaques, Ponting and Hussey all got out to great deliveries, the rest were pretty much soft outs.
Was Hussey's out, because it looked a bit suss. Ponting's wicket ball was a gem. Great to see Tendulkar bowl an over.

All out for 343. Good last stand by the Aussies. Interesting next couple of sessions.
There is the first break through. Lee and Johnson have been bowling superbly. Johnson unlucky to get Dravid, after Jaques dropped a really tough one. But now Jaffa edges a Lee slower ball through to Gilchrist.

I didnt mean to compare them, Im just saying that theyre sort of in similiar situations. Sure, Dravids a great player, and I respect him **** loads but he hasnt made a score in a fairly long time, and has been all round struggling. A big score against a team like Australia would boost his confidence to no end. Hopefully he plays well in Adelaide, I love watching him anyway.

lmfao o keefe is hilarious love the way he laughs
Yes, I had a good chuckle over that yesterday morning.
Oh no, another no-ball wicket. 3 times this match.
But now we get him this time, Jaffer gone. Gilchrist overtakes Healy.

Oh Symonds has bowled a gem. Dravid was less than convincing in that innings. India has only made 50 odd in this session. Boring stuff.
idk why but i stil find watchin the indians bat like this way more interesting than watchin australia robot batsmen idk thats just me
I find it incredibly boring, on the batting side of things. The run rate is not even 2 an over.
Australia's bowling though, fantastic. Great to see them work over the opposition and get them in the position they want them in.

Singh hasn't cemented his place in the side, so he could easily be left out. Dravid and Jaffer could be replaced with Sehwag.
what happened in the banga game?
NZ chased down 80 or something in 6 overs.
Singh hasn't cemented his place in the side, so he could easily be left out. Dravid and Jaffer could be replaced with Sehwag.
its easy to say u can drop these guys but they are great batsmen and theres no one to go in how can sehwag replace 2 ppl
sehwag has not been able to make double figures playing 1st class cricket in india apparenlty
Dravid hasn't been able to make double figures at international level. I don't know, a spell in the team would do wonders for Sehwag. But I'm not sure who could go in, I'm not an expert on the team.
yeh ok lets drop ponting while where at it
he made less runs then dravid lets drop him and put slater in
No, but everyone knows Dravid has been struggling for an extended period. Ponting just had one bad match. Horrible comparison.
I don't rate Ganguly as a bowler.
u dont rate anyone u could get a job commentating alongside lawry or chappel
That isn't true! I rate Singh and Dravid, just think they need some time out. Ganguly has an average of like 50 for bowling, and they bowl him first change.

But that would have been a bad way to go out, down the leg side. The edge wasn't big, so no problem with the umpire not hearing it.
no problem .... rite
on ya way pup
What a ball to Clarkey. He is one of the best players of spin in our team too.
Tendulkar is fielding great. R.P. Singh bowling great. Australia batting horribly.
Good to see Rudd enjoying his cricket again.

I'm not sure about that radtaste
Mm, actually i'm not so sure myself. Baseball is played in a host of Asian countries, in parts of central America, etc...
At the recent baseball world cup, there were 16 teams participating (same as cricket world cup). Quality of some countries can be argued though.
Struggling now. Horrible decision on Ponting.
Missed it, but he should have went from Ganguly's bowling anyway.
Looking like a decent competition.
disgraceufl umpiring today i gotta say
symonds was gone u wont get an easier decision then that
Snicko was less than convincing, but that certainly looked to be out.

Yep, good stuff. I reckon he got lucky with that stumping decision though.
yep has been lucky

Could never have given that stumping out. Benefit of the doubt.
Now Hogg is gone, superb knock from him. Lets get Binger out there.

Yeh, true.
Hogg deserved a hundred for his work, unlucky.
Symonds is batting great. Smacking this mediocre India around.
 India's odds have blown out to $13+.
India is also very bad at fielding.

Awesome days cricket, Symonds was very lucky but it was great to see him put the Indians to the sword, Hogg played the innings of his career, he got the game back in the Aussies favour.
Will be good watching Symonds bat with the tail tomoz, should be fireworks.

wow, just as you think india could actually have a chance at winning this happens.
yeh idk i think anyone could hit a ton if igiven 3 strikes ur out baseball rules
absolutely disgraceful i agree with the commentators something needs to be done about the way the game is umpired all they need was the 3rd umpire to get on the walky talky and tell the field umpires that those were clearly ****in out
now its set up for india to potentialy get slaughtered even worse than last time
Interesting to hear Hogg say he was a batsman when he first started playing state cricket.
Symonds only had two chances, and one was fair enough to give not out.

And having said that, over the 5 (provided we make it there) days law of averages says at least one Indian batsman will be let off the hook by umpiring. It'll just be that Australia has the mindset to get on with things

Hogg started out as a number 5 bat for WA, he only started getting a bowl after 2 or 3 seasons of Sheffield Sheild cricket.

i know he had 2 chances i was watchin
and i dont think the stumped was fair enough i agreed with the commentators sure it was a close call but clearly out
No way, the different angles were inconclusive. One looked like it was out, one looked safe and one you couldn't see where the pitch was. On all three it was also hard to see when exactly the whole bail was removed. Too tough to give out.
idk mate i jhavent seen a team get umpired out of it like this for a while kicken them while theyre way down
Yeah, it was a pretty horrible day for the umpires.

Stuart Clark is now ranked #2 in the world in the test match bowling rankings.

Australia still going strong late in to the innings.
Australia all out for 463. Symonds unbeaten on 162.

Awesome comeback, I don't know what to say about the umpiring though... maybe time for Steve Bucknor to retire?
One bad day shouldn't lead to calls for the umpires to retire.
Oh no. Another no-ball wicket. This is amazing how many times its happened in this series.

I refuse to watch while Dravid is still batting
mate ur missing out on some gr8 test match batting then i love watching dravid bat not to mention laxmans usual australia form
Dravid is batting horrible. So boring and not even trying to make runs. Just turn the strike over mate. India are so negative, apart from Laxman.
mate shut the **** up about it hes doing a great job
He has a strike rate of 25 . Boring.
sucks for u then this is v entertaining for me unlike aussie robot batting
Who knows what is wrong with you when you can enjoy India's slow, boring batting more than Australia's attacking, impressive batting.
idk but am glad i can enjoy cricket for more than just fast scoring attacking batting
i would be bored shitless right now if i couldnt find more about the game to interest me than that

Dravid\'s actually being smart about his batting, although some singles wouldn\'t go astray.
He\'s seen Laxman playing attacking cricket and decided that if Laxman\'s going to take the attack, then he\'ll have to be the anchor as Laxman has more chance of getting out. So he\'s just slowly, but steadily scoring runs.
I didn't say that only attacking batting kept me interesting, I'm just saying Australia is much more entertaining to watch. Nobody likes to see a team play negative cricket.
And I don't think you are right Jump, he has just struggled to find opportunities to get runs.
