Also I'm gonna be honest and say that there are like maybe five managers in the Prem that AREN'T twats. Zola is inarguably a legend and a great man, and the others are Southgate, O'Neill, Bruce, and Hodgson by my reckoning. You could maybe argue the case for Hughes, Sbragia, Brown, and Moyes.
Southgate has annoying teeth and Bruce is the biggest moaner this side of Arsene's leathery face.

Phil Brown and Moyesy are my favourite managers. If Craig Burley was in management he'd be my favourite,

Bruce seems to have maybe three really big pathetic moans a season. But then, he'll also come out after a 0-0 draw with a big smile on his face and say, 'Well, sorry to all our fans for that, that'll definitely be the last game on Match of the Day'. So idk.

I like Brucey. I think if it weren't for Tottenham, I'd support Wigan.

You're losers by comparison to our amazing performance. That's the way we played against United in our first match, giving them no space at all.

poorquality
03-11-2009, 09:09 AM
While Real Madrid looked shocking out there, can't take away from Liverpools performance, it was amazing, though I don't think Torres and Gerrard will find the space they did against our defence, which is considerably better than Madrids.

Last time we played you with Gerrard and Torres starting, Vidic had Torres under control and Anderson pocketed Gerrard. Though obviously a different game, on the back of that performance. Just gotta see what we do with Inter tonight, no reason we shouldn't make them suffer as much as Liverpool made Madrid suffer, we were considerably better in the first leg, but alas no goal.

Either way i'm really looking forward to the weekend, and I'm completely confident we will win (let's hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the ***).

Pastorius
03-11-2009, 09:22 AM
Anyone with sense would bet on United, they're on fire at the moment, and we worked our arses off against Madrid. Hopefully it'll be a gruelling 120 minute game tonight.

Either team could win at the weekend, but I'm assuming Liverpool have pretty much given up hope of winning the title, though beating United (again) wouldn't hurt.

poorquality
03-11-2009, 12:08 PM
Yeah I don't see the weekend's game as being a battle for the title, everything goes out the window in my opinion, it's a rivalry, both teams will be playing for pride. I think it'll be a massive game regardless of what's at stake from a domestic point of view.

It better not be a gruelling 120 tonight, I couldn't take the stress. Moscow was bad enough tyvm :P

Liverpool haven't consistently from the beginning of the season had 4-6 of their first team players out the whole way through. It's also not Arsenal's fault that if Torres and/or Gerrard is out that your whole team kind of falters. ;)

haha that was way at the beginning of the season, your first win against them in like ever (i recall arsenal beating them as well around the same time with a weakened squad). to sum up man utd were in bad form at the time whilst liverpool were pretty confident since then your form has slipped and without your two main stars you often play below par - there's proof of that over the last two seasons.

Pastorius
03-12-2009, 11:11 AM

I will admit we need to strengthen our squad, but it's mainly Torres we miss when he's out. Back in to second, good three points, should've had more. So I was right about Essien. That bloke is a tank, amazing athlete. Robinho is the biggest little ****head in the Prem just about, up there with El Hadji Diouf. See when Ballack was like "What's with Caicedo tripping me when I'm about to take the free?" and dickhead comes up and in his five words of English is like "**** off, **** off, **** off." Good on you you stupid little dickhead. Players like that piss me off so much. So glad we didn't buy him. Drogba's acting today was yet again a disgrace, the guy is a laughing stock, it is quite obscene. I wish we'd sell him, don't want that shyte at my club. He goes up for a header, misses it, lands on his feet, and goes down with a leg complaint for three minutes. **** off.

I thought United played ok yesterday. He took a risk picking Anderson and Carrick in the centre and it didn't really work out; Carrick's having a nightmare few weeks and Scholes or Giggs would have been the better option in hindsight.

Can't really account for Vidic's performance. Just complacency, I guess. I'm more worried about when, if ever, Ferdinand is going to step up his performances in Vidic's absence. Right now, Evans looks like the experienced player in the centre.

I thought United played ok yesterday. He took a risk picking Anderson and Carrick in the centre and it didn't really work out; Carrick's having a nightmare few weeks and Scholes or Giggs would have been the better option in hindsight.Yes. I couldn't believe he started with those two. Scholes in there for sure. Bad selection.

Can't really account for Vidic's performance. Just complacency, I guess. I'm more worried about when, if ever, Ferdinand is going to step up his performances in Vidic's absence. Right now, Evans looks like the experienced player in the centre.
I thought Rio was playing better recently, looked a little more assured. Then again, I've probably only seen half of United's games in the last month so can't really comment too well.

On other matters, you know what still baffles me? Prices for English players. Can you believe that James Milner is Villa's record signing? That is fkn ridiculous. £12m for James Milner? That is crazy. Everton were close to signing João Moutinho from Sporting for £10.5m - Moutinho is a much better player than Milner. And that's a bad example even. Crazy.

Well, I actually hate Liverpool, and if Man U win the league, then Scouse Scum will no longer be the record holder for most titles. This will please me. So I would prefer United to win three-in-a-row and Scousers no longer holding the record than Scousers to still hold the record. I guess the only way here is if Scouse won it, because obviously I would prefer us to win it. But that's not what you asked. I would prefer to... ****, tough one... depends who the Champions League was against... If we were the last English team in it, then I'd say prefer to win the Prem. I dunno, I just feel that it kind of devalues the European win if you don't win your domestic title. Obviously the CL is the #1 trophy in Europe, but like when Scouse Scum won it, I kind of thought it didn't mean as much because they were a complete joke in England. Not to mention that they only won it on penalties, which doesn't even count. They should be stripped of their title. And relegated to Conference North. And stripped 30 points.

But to answer your question, I'd prefer to win the Champions League.

mph4ever
03-17-2009, 01:15 PM
hahahaha, i know how you feel.

but i do think that with everything that has gone at chelsea recently, since josé left, then winning the champions league and getting 2nd in the premiership would be an excellent season. not forgetting that they have a shot at the fa cup too. and with liverpool beating real madrid and manu then the pressure is off manu, chelsea and arsenal a little, for a while anyway

RandyfromPennywise
03-17-2009, 01:19 PM
The pressure is on Man U I reckon. One loss, I know, but if they draw or lose in their next game against Fulham, can you imagine the hype? And Fulham aren't too bad at home either, it is at the Cottage I think... I reckon the FA Cup could be Chelsea's this year. Guus is a phenomenon in cup competitions. We are a real chance for CL with him in charge. He is the ****.

Remember when Chelsea smashed Liverpool at Anfield 4-1 in the 2005-06 season? Duffer, Lamps, even Geremi got in on the act. What a stuffing that were. And Chelsea won the title that year too.

Remember in 1999 when Chelsea beat Manchester United 5-0 at Stamford Bridge? Gus Poyet after 28 seconds and another in the second half, even Chris Sutton and Jody Morris managed to score, and poor Henning Berg thought it was so bad he poked one home for us too. Good times they were.

Remember when Chelsea smashed Arsenal 5-0 in the League Cup in 1998?

manu against arsenal as a semi would be out of this world. arsenal are going to start motoring a little now. they play chelsea in the fa cup, may face manu in the final of that, they play manu in the second last game of the season and then maybe in a cl semi. manu could have four games against arsenal that will shape their season. liverpool or chelsea may have no say in the outcome

I always said that Uniteds attack were better than Barca's defence, but our defence is better than Barca's attack. So we'd win by 1 or 2 goals. That was for the match last season.

Now it's Bayern's turn. I think their attack is better than Barca's defence, but I can't see their defence coping with Barca's attack, I'm going for a 6-3 Agg scoreline in favour of Barca.
