You mean Shaun Wright Phillips? I hope he dosnt move, im sick of Chelsea.
ChodaBoy
03-25-2005, 07:12 AM
I think if he could move anywhere it would be Arsenal, because hes from London, and as everyone knows Ian Wright is a legend there. But he'd probably end up at Chelsea - being wasted on the bench. Which is a shame, because its nice to see a smaller club (City) with such a good player. Life is hard as a City fan /cries

Shut up, its a hard life being a bury fan.
Save Our Shakers  I wonder if the match will sell out today, theres a big marketing operation to get it a capacity crowd. Its the clubs 120th year of being at gigg lane, and theres not other teams playing so they want as many people as posible to go.

Hey come on, I have it worse. I am a Cambridge Utd fan! We are on the brink of losing our proffesional status, and if we go down we will go into administration and probably have to fold as a football club within the next few years, unless we get promoted again immediately, which seems unlikely as we will only be allowed to keep 4 professional players due to our bankrupcy. So none of you know anything about clubs that are suffering. (unless you support some rubbish conference team.)

Mr Snrub wins :)
I think its harsh that teams get deducted 10 points if they go into administration. Teams that go into admin are usually near the bottom and taking off 10 points puts them even further back, and it's almost impossible for them to get back as all their good players get sold etc.

We are bottom of the football league (24th in League 2), and are 6 points off safety with little time remaining. That 10-point docking rule is a real bummer because if we get that then there will be no hope of survival at all, but we will keep fighting till the end.

Unless they go into admin like the news says theres a possablity of. I know they would still be 5 points clear, but then all they would need to do is loose 2 games and the teams below them win, and they would be in the religation zone.

Tommorrow - England 2 N Ireland 0
Rooney, and Owen
I'm gonna say 3-1 to England.
N Ireland will score first, and stun the crowd.
Then Owen - a player with a point to prove - will score an absolute pearler. Lampard will get the second, probably with a header from a Beckham free-kick. And then, if Joe Cole makes an appearance, he'll get the third in the dying stages. If not, then Rooney will.
Nothing like specifics, eh? :)

I think 3-0 to engerland. Im gonna say Lampard, Rooney, Me. Because someone will kick the ball over old trafford, and itll land in my back yard. Ill pick it up, kick it back and it will go in the goal, and im english so it will count.
Does anyone have the sqaud list?

Emile Heskey, however, really shouldn't be anywhere near that substitute bench.
I havent got the slightest clue why Heskey was even considered, he just doesnt have what it takes. He's scored 8 all season, Fowler has 9, but you dont hear about him in the squad
Is it just me or has Gerrard lost ALOT of confidence?

I agree there but he shouldnt have to try and prove himself, we know what hes capable of (because hes scored against most teams GRR). Give him a run in the starting team and he'd be fine, but at Real he'd probably never get that unless all the other strikers were injured
Rancid Dan
03-27-2005, 01:46 PM
I don't like Owen. He's not strong enough and seems to lose possesion to much.
I think Defoe is better.
Hargreaves is the worst player andn England managr has ever fielded.
He comes on in every match. and all he ever does is lose the ball, or knock it across about 5 metres.
He's crap.
Players like Dyer, SWP and Cole should play instead of him.
ChodaBoy
03-27-2005, 01:49 PM
Yes most def. I've always questioned why he was played. Ive never seen him do a single thing that was useful. If you think about it, Sven has some really good players to choose from this WC. Last time around i dont think most of them were really prepared for the challenge. but now some of the youngsters have gotten alot of experience

Tomorrow, England v Azabeijan (Spelling? :P )
Everyones like "Oh Poland won 8-0 so we should hammer them worse" but personally i think thats a stupid view...games which end up like 8-0 thrashings are one offs, I don't expect england to win by more than 4, not because they aren't good enough, but because fluke results don't happen every week..look at Man u when they beat ipswitch 9-1...did everyone expect other big teams who played ipswitch to win by massive margins? No..ppl had more sense back then :P
so England 3(4)(5) - 0 Azerbeijan (:P)
Thats my opinion anyway..people here might think that we should win like 14-0 just because poland won by 8

Yeah I really hate how everyone is predicting a huge scoreline. Eriksson said he doesn't like it either because obviously football doesnt work like that. You can't just tell your team to go out and score 8 goals. I'm sure this is what they said about Macedonia a few years ago and we ended up scraping a draw! Anyway I think it'll be 3 or 4-0 to england. If they are very lucky eg. a few long shots go in or the ball goes in off the post instead of bouncing out like against N.I then maybe it'll be like 6 or 7. Its luck really

Wales have really gone off the boil since Mark Hughes left, but even before then, they were getting worse. They're almost certainly not going to the World Cup, as they're 10 points behind Poland, who are 1 point behind us, and they'll be lucky if they get a draw in Austria...quite why John Toshack felt the need to alienate Robbie Savage so early on is beyond me...I mean, Savage may a complete bastard of a player, but he always adds some actualy competitiveness to the midfield, which is what Wales need.
I agree
Whats the point of leaving out a good (even if he is a dickhead) player. It seems like its just some petty argument and he's trying to make a stand by not including him.
Adam Jones is GOD

Petty argument salways mess up any aspect of football.
I remember when Ruud (insert silent G surname here) took charge of Newcastle, the same year Stuart Pearce joined them. Ruud neve rpicked him for the first team once, and no explanation was given, which was unbelieveable, as the reason he was bought was 1) To increase Newcastle's left side ability 2) Give Stuart pearce his triumphant career ending in the Premiership

not really that important, jsut a reason ,maybe, to hate John Toshack more
after the last few games with Sparky in charge, Toshack would complain and say how he would do thing differently to Hughes, given the chance agaisnt Austria he used the exact same tactics and team as mark hughes did.

The problem with this match is, if we dont score more than 8, the team will be slated in the papers. But it cant be expected just because Poland scored 8. They might have changed their tactics, and the game against Poland may have just been a one off.

Well your not allowed to leave the pitch without the refs knowledge and beckham walked off to get a drink and sort his boot out, and then just came back on like nothing happened, still with 1 boot in his hand, after the linesman told him not too, because you cant just go back on without the ref knowing..then he played for a bit without a boot, and the ref booked him...load of crap...but the ref went by the rules..deserved a booking

I enjoyed seeing Bayern have a sense of humour. Putting on their website that they have bought Beckham for 35million.
Bayern have always had a sense of humour. They had their comedy theme song one season, then they sold about as much merchendise with their name on it as Kiss ever did. And they have Kahn in goal. Cant get funnier than that
That, and they let us score a goal against them at home. That was hilarious.
Bayern also showed their sense of humor by saying they didn't want Mourinho to get a touchline ban. Why? They didn't want him to have any excuses when they beat Chelsea.
I love it when football managers indulge in WWF-level banter.

The pair later appeared alongside manager Graeme Souness to apologise for their conduct, but pointedly did not say sorry to each other.
