True, Real got beat off some VERY poor team, the total cost of all the players was something like £100,000. whereas Real spend £10+ million on one player.
The league is practically won now, Barca are too many points ahead.

Did anyone hear what Sam Allardyce said about Diouf?
He said he was just trying to get Lehmann off him...
Yea, it couldnt be that he hit him. That would be totally uncharacteristic of him, hes an honest player

nice i wanted Barça to win ne ways Real is way too much of a dynasty as well as in england id prefer Newcalstle to win just cause Man U and Arsenal are always the ones.

Owen will probably come back to the Premiership next season IMO
To be fair, I honestly thought that Diouf was innocent, and didn't deserve to be sent off at all. If I was the referee, and I'd seen it clearly, I would have booked Diouf for retaliating, and given Lehmann a warning.
Is this season Shearer's last? Just wondering.

Is this season Shearer's last? Just wondering.
Yup. which is why im backing Newcastle to win something this season. Preferably the FA cup, so Arsenal/Man Utd finish with nothing, and give this season some high point for me
That's just what I was thinking.

I think you're right, unless the chairman gives money to spend. Some players we have just cant handle the premiership i.e McManaman, Reyna because of their age and injuries. Money definately needs to be spent in defence, i dont think Mills does many things that actually help the team - quite the opposite often, and Thatcher also wants to leave because his house has been robbed twice which made his family move down south.

Rafael Benitez really doesn't have a clue. 20 minutes to go and he needs a goal so he brings off his best striker (Baros) and replaces him with Antonio Nunez. If I were a Liverpool fan, I'd be glad to see him go to Real Madrid.
Nunez will probably score after I've said that :upset:

We were terrible :(. How can we go from the sublime to the ridiculous its starting to be funny now.
And wtf are you on about milan was terrible, i cant wait to sell him. He missed the only clear chance and he played terrible. Milan is defo goin in summer because he is a spoilt moron. He gets told to pass the ball but he wont do it and when he gets told off he sulks.

Its always an interesting combination when you get the two Milans together. AC have always been knoe for their defence, while Inter are known for their attack. However Italian football is probably the most boring football around, with rarely an exception.
I can see Liverpool giving Juve some problems at Anfield. And Chelsea just need to get Kahn to fumble a cross/shot/simple ground pass early on and the game is won

milan derby in champs league? they share a stadium, so where will the away leg for either team be? they'll be hell to pay with the bloody moody italians!
I imagine what they'll do is hold both in the same stadium, but split the allocation of tickets so that one game will have more AC fans, and one will have more Inter fans.
That's what they should do, anyway.

I realised last night that I really want Bolton to claim that 4th Champs League spot. It won't happen, but I think it'd be great. Mainly because I want to see Sam Allardyce take the reigns when Sven gets booted out of office.
I also really want Palace to stay up, because Ian Dowie has the world's scariest eyebrows. It's like his body stores all its fat there.

I also really want Palace to stay up, because Ian Dowie has the world's scariest eyebrows. It's like his body stores all its fat there.
There was a picture of him with his brother in The Sun yesterday. It was like Dawn Of The Dead.

Ian Dowie sort of reminds me of an owl with those eyes and eyebrows. Shame you wanting them to stay up, Saints are on a roll and Palace have no chance . :)
Well, now that I think of it, if Saints go down then they'll probably have to sell Niemi, and he'd be bought by either Arsenal or Man U in a heartbeat, I would have thought.
Which in turn would make the title race a lot more interesting next season, by shoring up the most obvious weakness in either side.
Then again, that might happen anyway.

What do people think about the speculation that micheal owen will be put forward as an exchange in a transfer deal to sign arsenals Reyes?
EDIT: Yeah United won 1-0 against Fulhum....being a united fan i'm happy with that ...but still when you dominate like that and only score one goal...its not right, we have ruud and rooney upfront and we only got a single goal and even that was from a midfielder (granted ronaldo kicks *** :)).
It looked dodgy at the end though, like fulhum nearly scored in the last minutes like in our last meeting...its fair enough united have been dominating all their recent games (apart from milan :() but still to score only a single goal in some is not good enough really...(though 4 against southampton was nice :))
any thoughts?
The Owen/Reyes swap would suit everyone involved. Both Owen and Reyes are unsettled and underperforming.

But then so is an on form van Nistelrooy-Rooney partnership
United always seem to have the upper-hand over arsenal...last 6 games do not lie
United win 3 and draw 3, we've stopped their unbeaten run and been the first team in like 2 seasons to score 4 in a game at highbury...i'm not trying to brag or whatever...but if it goes to a united arsenal fa cup final...my bets are on united....i dont know why...but arsenal dont seem to perform as well as we've all seen them do against man utd. :) Which is good...for united lol

Oh and what about that Champs League draw..a Milan derby...what a game that'll be, I watched inter vs fiorentina earlier today, inter won it 3-1 it was a good game, dont know how ac did in the league, but i think the winner of the derby will win champs league :) Liverpool as far as i'm concernned wont make it over 2 legs against juve...and chelsea v munich will be hard but i honestly think over 2 legs munich might be able to topple chelsea...meh thats my opinion though :P

I respect mourinho as a manager...but he needs to learn to shut up sometimes, chelsea if found guilty could face being kicked out of the champs league..wouldn't that be funny, and the fa are still after them about the ashley cole thing which could have them deducted points, if they're not careful this season could screw up for them horribly :) lets hope lol
ChodaBoy
03-22-2005, 11:00 AM
I do agree that Mourinho is a good manager, i'd be pretty stupid to say that he wasnt. But i do feel that the FA need to do something serious about this 'tap up'. If they get another pathetically low charge (like Mourinho's £5000 fine - he probably laughed when he heard that thinking it was a joke) then other teams will not worry in the future. Making an example of them would only be fair, and they couldnt argue against it because they clearly have broken a rule set by the Fa (if they are found guilty). They may worry that charging a big club like chelsea could bring a bad name to english football, but if they dont show that they mean business, even the smaller teams will take advantage.
poorquality
03-22-2005, 11:05 AM
Yeah you have a good point, so what if chelsea are one of the biggest teams in the world now...a rule is still a rule, and breakers of the rule need to be made examples of...its like referees and swearing...all players swear at refs during games, if the ref sent someone of for foul and abusive language, it'd soon stop, spain have it right, if you swear at officials you get booked/sent off....to be fair wayne rooney should of been sent off like 8 times lol
and if you make examples of clubs/players who break the rules, it wouldnt take long for it to stop because people know what they'll face.

Yeah, i think completely kicking them out of Champions League would be a little harsh, but then again, they know that post match interviews are mandatory, a rule set by FIFA. So if they break a rule, they should have some kind of punishment. Its the same in all jobs. School, the office, football - break the rule and expect the consequences.
Changing the subject to the other post, i think that the controversy surrounding swearing from players has been blown way out of proportion. Theres always one simple solution - dont show them up close. then there is no problem and everyone can watch it without these sad parents whining about words that their kids already know. Putting a 60 second delay in, which was one suggestion would be stupid, just dont show them, these players arent good looking anyway, we dont need to see their face. If we wanted to, we would visit the internet for that.

Cudicini would be an excellent buy for United, unfortunately for them Chelsea will probably charge alot knowing that he is a good keeper and they can get alot of money from him. Money that United do not have after spending it all on Rooney. Its stupid because as I've said, smith got us through the first couple months of the premiership therefor he should be upfront with rooney, atleast until ruud has shown signs of being back to what he used to be
Thing is, though, if Fergie doesn't play Ruud, and United don't score any goals, then he's going to get slated for not playing the only proven international-quality striker in his team.

It's still yet a good reason to trust that they've got good performances to come out of them. Beckham's a special case though; he really hasn't played well at all since he's been with Real, and he hasn't performed greatly internationally either. Yeah, he's a good keeper.
Howards not bad though.

Howard is a good keeper. I just don't think Fergie has the confidence in him to have him as a permanent No. 1.

Yup. Maybe a Saha swap deal?
The deal was supposed to be Smith + cash for Given. But this is all a story I picked out of the back of The Sun. Just thought it might provoke some discussion, because over half on the guys in here support one of those two teams.
ah, The Sun. well there's your answer, it'll all be pure fiction
was it next to the item about beckham going to scunthorpe? :p
It was next to an advert for Television X. :(

Did anyone see the unveiling of the new England kit on Sky Sports? My god they dragged it out and was a little OTT.
Is the Rooney attack thing just an attempt for attention or did he really hit that guy? Its hard to say because these people come up with a load of crap these days just to get money from selling their stories.

I wait till Soccer AM reveal the new England kits. At least then it's funny as a bonus.
As for the Rooney incident, neither would suprise me. Its been a while since he's been in the headlines, and he wasnt giving the newspapers (and the sun) much reason to do so, so it may just be another thrown together exaggeration
However, I can easily picture him doing such a thing, and then the press jumping into bed straight away with the story
On a Rooney-related note, Colleen McLaughlin has apparently been voted into the Top 25 of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women In The World.
Seriously, wtf?!?!?!?

The media are complete arseholes in all subjects, but especcially in football.
Take David Beckham, he has done some brilliant things in football, became the captain of England, and was a hero to so many kids. This, for some strange reason, makes him a target to pick on. They couldnt just leave him alone as a good player and someone that provides inspiration to people. They decide to ruin his career by exploiting some sluts (Rebecca Loos) story about how she slept with him. And now she has a fecking career from it. WTF?!
David Beckham wasn't the victim in that story.
Victoria Beckham was.

Hey back :) First off, as far as the rooney attacking someone story goes, it'll probably just end up as a repeat of the roy keane hitting a teenager story, made up for publicity and to try and unhinge the player...
Also I stick by my idea to buy Cudicini as uniteds new keeper :P he's too good to be on the bench.
As far as that woman being in 100 sexiest woman...Choda said it best :)

Other keeper? Do you mean Paul Smith? He is an amazing keeper, atleast from what i've seen, he stopped southampton losing more than 4 - 0 against united, but I dont think he's better than Niemi at the moment, he probably will be eventually, but not now.
Thanks Choda lol :P

BBC says that the probably outcome for Chelsea and Mourinho will be a fine. Which i think would be a disgrace. They've made such a big deal over it the past few weeks, and if they give them a "fine", it wont matter because they make it back 50000x over in the next week since it will be around 42p anyway.

03-24-2005, 09:01 AM
Abramovich payed Mourinhos last 5k fine :P he'll just pay again, its stupid, they should be docked points, its a suitable punishment considering this isn't a one off offence and mourinhos in hot water with UEFA aswell as the FA because of his actions.
Also cole is getting done for approaching a club, and chelsea are being done for approaching a player...they couldnt approach each other..one of them has to fall through :P

Points are the only way to affect the team, or at least a ban for a few games. Money is no longer and object to them. Unless its 2.4 Billion. *strokes chin*

Elliott seems to be doing well this season (26 goals I believe) but then again he is playing in League 1. Unfortunately, our best player was forced out of the national side by death threats from Loyalist, sectarian scumbags.

They do seem to be doing better since he left, but i dont know whether to point the finger at him or not. Hes doing great now at Celtic, so maybe it was the arguements with Souness that lead to his underperforming. He was a good player under Robson too

Sorry :thumb: I just find it a bit stupid to say that Smith is better than a proven keeper like Niemi, when he has made just 4 appearences. Thats like saying if Heskey played good for a few matches he was better than a proven goal scorer. :p
