Probably had an arguement with the manager, happens alot recently at Newc.

Rancid Dan
03-05-2005, 03:55 PM
I dunno, because he was captain while Shearer was out.

The preferred midfield is now :

Robert
Dyer
Bowyer
Faye

I guess Jenas doesn't really ft in.

jaymz_is_god
03-05-2005, 03:56 PM
I'd sooner have Jenas in than Faye. And what about Nicky Butt?

Rancid Dan
03-05-2005, 03:59 PM
Yeah, but Faye has made us much stronger, every other Newcastle midfielder s an attacker, so he helps the defence more.

I think he has helped us win 5 on the trot.

I'm not sure who's better, Jenas or Bowyer ?

jaymz_is_god
03-05-2005, 04:00 PM
I think Bowyer. I would say he's more likely to score goals.

But most importantly:

NEWCASTLE BEAT LIVERPOOL

That is the best win of the season for me as i have so many friends who support Liverpool, and i can rip the piss put of them now.

We are in a decent postion for UEFA and maybe Champs league now.

I wouldn't say Xabi Alonso is your best player. He probably will be next season though, due to Stevie G moving on. Liverpool have been pretty unlucky with injuries this season, but saying that there are a few clowns in the team. Nunez, Josemi, Traore etc. Benitez seems to have got rid of all of Houllier's crap buys, but has replaced them with a few of his own. With the exception of Morientes.

Alonso is our best player according to the carling OPTA stats, and when i have been and seen him at anfield he has been brill. His passing is the best i have ever seen. As for gerrard he is really pissing me off, he just moans all the time and he has been terrible recently. He missed a sitter today and scored an O.G on sunday i would take the money now we need it desperately. No player is bigger than the club.

To be fair to Benitez his buys have been ok. When he has been given money he has bought well but Nunez was a makeweight, Josemi was 2million and Pellegrino was free so you cant expect them to be world beaters. Alonso is awesome as is morientes and the jury is still out on Garcia.

I think we are in the Sh!t tho, we need a goalie, leftback, centreback, right winger and a centre mid so we need to sell Gerrard or get investment. The former looks the most likely.

The summer is going to be fun. if we sell gerrard = 40mill, Baros = 15mill and say 20mill from the board we will have 75 million to spend.

Rancid Dan

Alonso is good.

Josemi, Pellegrino, Nunez, Garcia etc... are all **** though.

Pellegrino was free. He was apparantly bought to teach the rest of the defenders how to zonal mark, as he had played under Rafa using this system at Valencia, and won the league with it. He was never meant to play we just have loads of injurys. I agree he is Sh!t.

Garcia has got talent. He is a luxury player for Europe and at Home only tho again we got injurys so have no choice.

jaymz_is_god
03-05-2005, 04:30 PM
I think Liverpool really need to hang on to Baros. He is a quality player. IMO he is better than both Cisse and Morientes, but I suppose he can't be kept if he doesn't want to play for them. And you definitely need a centre-back. I don't think Hyypia is able to cut it at the top any more. Ledley King could be a good buy, but I think Spurs are on the up and he won't want to leave.

Northern Soul
03-05-2005, 04:31 PM
Kewell is atrocious.

yer hes fat.

Newcastle are playing well at the moment. However you need massive investment to keep it up and you aint got it. You wont be able to replace Shearer and Kluivert is crap.

Bramble played well today but usually he is terrible.

jaymz_is_god
03-05-2005, 04:33 PM

Rancid Dan
03-05-2005, 04:33 PM

See Crystal P game and Chelsae game.

jaymz_is_god

Kluivert is a quality player. It's just hard for players who have played in Spain to adapt to life in the Premiership, with the exception of a few.

Northern Soul
03-05-2005, 04:36 PM
O.K maybe i was a bit harsh Kluivert was brilliant years ago and he may well hit form again. However he strikes me as a player with no loyalty and he will be off to spain if he starts playing well again.

I usually feel like that but not as much as this season. Everyone says Saints are **** and will go down every season, even though they finish mid table most of the time, and the past few years have been consistenly better than well supported teams like spurs. But this season Saints seem to have loads of decsions going against them, and like 7 points have been lost becuase of goals in the last 5 minutes. Now thats unlucky.

Supported them since 1970(I'm an old git)when they won the FA Cup.
We never won anything major from 1971-1997(apart from Div.2 + The Full Members Cup).
From the '79/80 season to 1984 I missed 4 games in four and a half seasons home and away,I went to cambridge, grimsby, shrewsbury, rotherham, notts co,carlise etc(some a few times).
I have'nt seen them play live since 1986-main reason I was banned but also I had personal probs that put my life in perspective.

My local team are a bit ****. Ards are currently 14th out of 16 in the Irish Premier League and don't even have their own stadium. They have to play at their closest rivals home ground. They have big money problems and might not exist past next season. A guy in my year from school is in the first team and has started in central defence for a good proportion of the season.

Dudes, give Collina a break ok........as far as matches are concerned win or lose the ref gets a bad name. why because they make some mistakes in the game. unlike us they got no multi views of the match, they are also facing the same atmosphere as the players in it and they have to face the losers complains after the match. in that kind of stress no one can give a pure 100% right judgement.

When has'nt money come into it?Man.Utd won all those titles 'cause they where the richest club,Arsenal spent plenty as well, same with Liverpool in their day and Blackburn etc.The last team I remember winning the league who were'nt 'rich' were Nottm.Forest over 25 years ago !

yes but all those clubs built themselves up. They all started pretty crap and with good management and good buys became good clubs. Utd worked hard to get in a position to spend 30mill each on shrek and rio, and we know if those had been bad buys Utd would have been fu.cked.

What aload of crap Man U have been the best supported club since the Munich air disaster. And the richest by far,and spent by far the most on players to win their titles,Arsenal also spent millions more than other clubs, same with Liverpool and Blackburn.
The season before Roman brought the club Chelsea finished 4th by beating Liverpool in the final game of the season, that meant Chelsea qualified for the champs league and Liverpool finished 5th.Therefore if Chelsea 'were sh'it'and finihed above Liverpool without Abramovich's money-Liverpool were more **** ! wtf are you on about????. I am talking about the 1950s liverpool were terrible. Second divison crap. THen shankly came in and with some astute buys turned us into a good 1st divison team. Then Paisley came in and due to excellent management turned us into the best team in the world. Same with the manks and arsenal good management when all teams had the same sort of cash and when there was a wage cap. Now all these teams have money yes but thats due to the glorious past. Also even in the 90s everyone was pretty similar. Nobody had Romans money if you won the league it was due to good managment. George graham had cash but didnt spend any on arguably the best back four ever. And ferguson was told 'you will never win anything with kids', but he built his team of kids up for years and it paid off. No one has ever bought a complete squad in a couple of seasons.

When Ken Bates bought Chelsea in 1982 for £1 we had just avoided relegation to the old 3rd division by 2 points. We where on the brink of bankrupcy and if we had gone down we would have gone out of existence.
Over the next 21 years Bates brought our ground, and took us upyo 4th in the prem and a place in the Champs League.
Compare Chelseas position in '82 with Liverpools(Chels bottom of the 2nd Div/Liverpool-Trophies+titles galore) to the positon of the two clubs when Bates left in '83(Chelsea 4th/Liverpool 5th).
I travelled around the country to all the little clubs, season after season-something you as a Liverpool fan have never done.

you really dont see my point do you. The league is unfair now. As long as Roman stays you should win it every year for decades. You bought two crap fowards in Kezman and drogba for over 30mill. You will replace them next year. If the replacements are crap you will replace them. Nobody else in English footy can do this. Thats why we all hate you, and your wan.ker of a manager doesnt help matters.

If arsenal the manks or us do that we are in the sh!t. If we spend 24mill on a player he has to be good. Liverpool bought 11m diouf and 11m heskey we are now in the sh!t. If utd or arsenal had done the same so would they. I admit it was bad management to buy them in the first place but when you do similar things it does not matter due to your billionaire. Its a joke.

FFS most of your fans are like the manks now. At cardif we got beat and we still sang louder than you.You have all the rich kid glory hunters not because you deserve it but because a russian billionaire bankrolls you. I hope the Russian government does Roman for fraud. It could happen because no way did he get his money legit. I mean how the fu.ck do you go from selling ducks on a market stall to owning an oilfield. The russians will then seize his assets and sells them all off, and we will all laff.

i hate jose mourinho, he is so overated because hes got to have the easiest job in the world because chelsea have so much money he can basically buy any player he wants and not have to worry about transfer fees so he can bassicaly just create his own dream team, anybody can do that!!! i bet even i could be manager of chavski and win the premiership and champions league!! (i could even win the quadruple with them if they had some back bone)
Ok so you could argue that by saying he won the champions league last year with porto who had a **** team and no money, well i can put pain to that aswell by saying porto did actually have a strong team when you look at it because they had deco, maniche etc. Also porto only won it by luck aswell because man u should have knocked them out but they had a goal ruled out for offside which should have counted. Also from that point on what did porto have to beat? Not alot i think you'll find, teams like Deportivo and Monaco! Come on anybody can beat Monaco....( oh yeah except chelsea   )
I also hate the way people say that mourinho isnt arrogant. Sorry but have you listen to the jizz that the bloke talks, if he isnt arrogant then i dont know what is! He isnt exactly clever when it comes to the transfer market either because he hasnt bought any of their good players one of the only players he bought to chavski was drogba  Well done mate you've just paid 30m for the african version of emile heskey!!

I agree that Chelsea have bought their titles. Without the money they are getting they could only hope of finishing 4th at best, and could easily settle for Uefa Cup, playing in front of 2k people against a team in Lithuania no one has ever heard of. Saying Arsenal and United have alwayes been good is a lie. Arsenal used to be a mid table team, occasioanlly pushing for titles. United dominated the 90s with a bunch of kids, and were in division 2 at the same time as Saints. They have worked there way up, rather than getting huge cash injections like Chelsea. I'm not saying i'd hate it if Southampton were given a £100m transfer budget, but i think the stadium would be overrun with new "fans" and would kill the atmosphere, which is one of the reasons i go to football. I went to Stamford bridge a few years ago when no one knew of Abramovic and what was to come, and they were lucky to get a draw (1-1, Tessem and Richards OG) against Saints, a team always favourites for the drop. This pretty much somes up what Chelsea used to be like, and the fact they haven't won anything for years backs that up. The bottom line is, without the money, Chelsea would probably not be in the Champions League now, and wouldn't have a squad that is one of the best is Europe.

I agree with that point about Chelsea. Their fans have always tried to talk up how good they are, but it's only recently when they've had unlimited money to buy anyone and everyone, that they've looked the real deal. Continuing the anecdote theme, the one away game I've been to was Chelsea vs Sunderland at Stamford Bridge. Sunderland won 4-2 despite being in an awful run of form, and after the first half hour, Chelsea never really looked in it. What a great day that was...

Well, thing is, I find myself liking certain people in football now, rather than any clubs. The clubs I like, I like because of the people there. Giggs at Man U, for instance. Or Terry and Lampard (and Mourinho) at Chelsea. Or Moyes at Everton. Or Allardyce at Bolton. etc etc......

If those players or managers transferred to another club, I'd like the club they went to. Provided it isn't Arsenal.

I just don't see the point in supporting a club, when in a matter of 3 or 4 seasons, every single member of staff at that club could have left and been replaced.

England are only allowed 4 teams in the Champions League, right?

Imagine Liverpool win it.

I don't think Solari would be good enough. I reckon Michael Ballack could do well, but I don't think there's much chance of getting him. For a cheap option we could go for Kim Kallstrom. He's Swedish and plays for Rennes in France. He impressed me from what I've seen of him. If only we'd have got Ronaldinho :upset:

New keeper should be Sebastien Frey, Carlo Cudicini or Paul Robinson.

Keegan's left Man City a touch early... I'm pretty glad, being a Celtic fan, after O'Neill was being linked there. He'd never leave us for the Premiership now, maybe more of a chance of him leaving next year though.
