"With every album, I try to better myself. I'm a perfectionist and with the success of my last record, I wasn't sure about where my growth should be - as a performer, as a vocalist. I always felt like I held something back on my albums - on every album, I was playing a 'role'. This time, I decided to shake my fears and allow my personality to come through. I've really 'lived' this album: I'm in a healthy place right now. I'm 25-years old and I'm dealing with my responsibilities as a man and I'm not afraid to speak, to be realistic and talk about the issues men deal with (In relationships)"-Usher
Usher had alot of expecting fans after his previous albums, each of which managed to give a little more and go that extra mile. So has 'Confessions' managed to live up to the hype?
To begin with he kicks the album off with an instant classic, the sensational 'Yeah' which can easily rival any albums opening track, with its catchy beat, easy to remember lyrics, an lets not forget the shear genius of combineing one of the hiphop greats such as ludacris :thumb: However im sad to say Usher doesnt make the most of him, and ludacris is clearly pretending to be drunk which is interesting but at the end of the day a bit ****. Also on the video Usher spends too much time fixing his cuffs and not enough time singing.
Another great song on this album is 'burn'. The beat is tight, the lyrics are more open and emotional than those of the previous tracks. Video has Usher walking around in a crazy shirt with a womens face on the side, not sure what the deal is there  However it is cool when he says burn, and the trees burn! yeah, these palm trees go up in flames! well smart
I dont know about the other songs as they havent been on MTV yet.
In conclusion this album really isnt perfect, there are alot of features that Usher simply hasnt made the most of, such as ludacris :upset: . But lets face it, here we are getting 19 tracks of pure Usher, at his most open and most honest, which i know is what we all want
