This summers movies aren't turning out good..

Tom Cruise actually doesn't bother me, and I was liking the movie until the last half hour pretty much. These were the main holes, two of which are spoilers but I'll put warnings:

The ships that the aliens used to attack the humans were buried underneath the earth thousands of years ago (this is discussed in the movie), before humans even inhabited the earth. The big SCARY thing being that the aliens have been planning the extermination all these years. Well

1. Why the hell didn't they just take the planet before humans were inhabiting it? Actually, how did they even know humans were GOING to inhabit it? You mean to tell me that they buried their ships under the earth when they could've taken the planet without a fight? And on top of that, they planned to wipe out a species that wasn't even in existence yet? Can they see into the future?

2. Thousands of years go by, and through the course of the building of subways, irrigation and pipes, and all the other subterranean construction that has gone on in mankind's existence, not a SINGLE project comes across any ONE of the ARMY of HUGE war machines the aliens have planted?

3. Spoiler: At the end, the aliens basically just die. There's no big fight, they just all of a sudden start dying. The war machines start tumbling down. The very brief explanation that the narrator gives for this at the end is that the aliens couldn't survive in our ecosystem. In other words, EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE BEEN PLANNING THIS FULL SCALE PLANETARY INVASION FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS, NOT ONE ****ING ALIEN SCIENTIST BOTHERED TO NOTICE THAT "HEY, THIS ENVIRONMENT ISN'T AT ALL INHABITABLE FOR OUR SPECIES"

4. Spoiler: The big war machines have these shields, and that's why the humans aren't able to destroy them. Well, when the machines start dying, their shields just go down without explanation. Are their shields an organism too? What the ****?! I don't care if the aliens in the ship are dying even though they should be protected in the environment that their cockpit provides. That doesn't explain how the shields MYSTICALLY went down.

Glenn Danzig has announced plans for the 2005 Blackest of the Black Tour. The tour will include headliners Danzig, as well as hardcore and black metal acts including Chimaira, Behemoth, Himsa, Mortiis (ex-Emperor), and The Agony Scene.

Of some note is that each stop on the tour will feature a 30-minute Misfits set with Doyle von Frankenstein, Doyle previously joined Glenn for similar sets last fall.

The festival debuted in the Summer of 2003 with Danzig, Superjoint Ritual, Opeth, Nile, Lacuna Coil and Behemoth. Dates for the 2005 edition are expected shortly.

In additional to the tour, Danzig will also see the release of Il Demonio Nera on July 12th. The DVD is a collection of videos, video outtakes, alternative versions and previously unreleased music videos from the band's Danzig 4 and Danzig 5.
Assuming this show is under $20, i'll probably go for the Misfits set and Behemoth.

I watched a Black Dahlia Murder video on demand and the whole thing takes place in the first unitarian church. Half is them playing by themselves in the actual church and half is them playing live in the basement where shows are held. It's pretty cool and there's a lot of riot footage.

at the first unitarian church in philadelphia on Sunday august 28th, Philadelphia's own Punishment will play their last show for the foreseeable future. the show itself is a memorial show to Diana Hechtor, who was murdered in newark,de in may of 2004. all proceeds from this show will go towards her memorial fund. more bands to be announced.
expect there to be raffles, giveaways, and punishment merch that will never be available at another show.

like i said previously, Punishment isn't dead, but with me being in Shattered Realm full time, Ferrero in the Revenge, Sean Foley in Blacklisted, and Magras and Timmy handling their own life issues, its impossible for Punishment to exist right now. Whether thats the case in 2 years or so remains to be seen. Hence the line "forseeable" future..

This memorial/benefit show is important to all of us, Diana Hechtor was murdered at a young age and her family is still feeling the repercussion of it every day, even after her murderer has been caught.

Robbins had the right idea, Cruise was being a *****. I totally agree about the ending, the kid should have died. What was with the blood? Was Robbins right, was it just a fertilizer for their plant life?

Taking it at face value the blood is just to fertilize the plant life they had brought with them, but it is possible they used it for like marking territory already covered.

We pretty much watched the kid die, I mean Tom Cruise was like inches from death of the explosion, the kid was easily 100 ft closer. He is dead.

The first like 2/3 was deffinently awesome though.

When they captured the people and sucked them up one by one. Bodies were floating justs to show how ****ed up everything was becoming and to make you scared. Also to give the little girl a reason to scream.

Probably cooler than your show. 5 bands, all hella sick. Awesome circle and push pits. I almost passed out from exhasution when Monster Squad came on. The singer from Chaotic Alliance did a front flip off the stage and landed right on his back. He was hardcore. He got right back up again and started singing. I jumped on him when he got up. He also set up a little wall of death. I was on the frontline of the right side.

Wow, Carry On were more than amazing. Conner thought they would be rusty...the only problem they had was trying to keep their blood pumping as hard as everyone in the crowd.

They played every song they ever wrote and the best part is I get to see it all again tomorrow night.

My mom is being a bitch because she said my friend was being rude for reading a sign to himself. She started yelling at him so I started yelling at her about having no right to yell at him and then she started yelling at me about him being rude. All while three of my friends were sitting in the back seat. We were fighting the entire car ride up and back. She says she's not taking me to any shows for a long time, but WCWW isn't far so she'll take me there.
