We haven't had a hardcore show since September, unless you count this Halloween show I didn't go to in which there were two hardcore bands. But we have Another Breath, and the MBU reunion with Righteous Jams, Mental, DrugxTest, Final Word and The Wrong Side. All the best shows are in Gatineau or Montreal...

My friends pretty much listen to crap music and the bigger metalcore acts, so I usually go alone to the smaller shows. Like I'm trying to convince my friend to go with me on Thursday to Embrace Togay/Premonitions of War/Ion Dissonance, but I'll probably be going solo. Same with Sunday for The Warriors and Kids Like Us, because none of my friends listen to straight-up hardcore save for like Terror.

I would if I had a way of getting there. My one friend doesn't get a license until sometime this summer, but probably not until august or so. This kid moving here from Texas might be the singer in our band, and he has a car so hopefully he would drive us to places further away.

so i do what i can. i wanna save lives and i've got a plan. under the table he'll eat your dinner like the veggies we can't stand. what kind of meal would he make? we don't want to ask it. tradition is all that keeps him alive. listen up, i gotta ask it, how can we be so cruel? you say you care,
that's a lie. my true compassion is for all living things and not just the ones who are cute so i do what i can. i wanna save lives and i've got a plan. why am i so upset. don't even own a pet. i am not trying to press my will. i am not the first to say... thou shalt not kill full is all you want to feel. we eat to stay alive, but it's their lives we steal. i think we'd like to change, but most of us are stuck, that's why cats and dogs have all the luck.

ABC No Rio... but I've never been there. I think HORSE played there at the end of the summer when I was away. We get good shows at places like Irving and Roseland, but there's hardly any hardcore coming through. I don't know if I want to come all the way to NJ. Though I don't like Finch as much as I used to, they were one of the bands that opened up new genres of music for me. If they came out with another CD, they might jump up to the top of my list. Do you have any songs? If not, http://www.hxcmp3.com/bands/448/
 They sound great! It's like a perfect mix of chuggy metally stuff and hardcore. The vocalist has a really weird voice.

This just goes to show you that you can't touch Converge. Not even As I Lay Dying.

I just got Converge's new album on vinyl...then I proceeded to download the album...sometimes I wonder why I buy vinyl.

Anyways, so far, it's really good, 'Last Light' is really really good.

I like this album a lot better than Jane Doe. There's more of a hardcore influence.
Meh, I don't really think it comes close, I haven't really listened to it much. Black Cloud is a really good song, probably my favorite from the cd.

I like the songs with the other guy singing. Who sings in Last Light?

I thought that was Bannon, just he was shouting. I tried getting into that voice, but I just couldn't.

ok what genre would everyone put path of resistance/earth crisis under obviously good straight edge bands but hardcore or metalcore?

Hardcore for Earth Crisis, but they're later stuff became lame.

Whoa. That was an awesome song. I get what a hardcore breakdown is now. Wasn't that one just the main riff palm-muted?

Yeah, I listened to their whole album once briefly. It was really good. I kinda want to get into hardcore but with all the bands you guys name, I get overwhelmed and don't now where to start.
