Everyone throws the term 'screamo' around way too much.
They have the adrenaline pumpin', of course, but they don't have any real true emotion going on on-stage.
Whoever denies that should go see a real emo band play.

I'm sure they have nothing on most emo bands when it comes to being emotional on stage, but Hot Cross are definitely emotional live. I enjoyed.

Just got back from CBGBs: Anterrabae was really good, the AKAs were decent until the singer started preaching politics, Zombie Apocalpyse was SICK, but they played hardly any songs and played the intro to "Welcome to the Jungle" but changed to a different song. Decent show overall, but I'm glad I was on the guestlist and didn't have to pay $10.

Integrity = Definitely badass
Blinding Light = I only moderately like them, but I know a lot of people securely attached to their nuts. Their singer sounds a lot like Tom Araya and they're pretty thrashy, that's the best I can describe them.
Mortal Treason = Guilty pleasure

down here we call it fashion-core...haha...cause honestly...they care more about fashion then the music....although the music is pretty good...they care too much about their mascara...and also IMO nu-metal is better then bands like Atreyu....

Yes, old school hardcore is correct. Rise Against can go in this thread, all hardcore is welcome. As for the American Nightmare songs, you said you checked out the music they made under Give Up the Ghost, meaning their last album, which they experimented very much on. That album isn't the best (it works, but not the best) for trying to figure out what hardcore is. Listen to "AM/PM" by them if you want an idea. The other reason GUTG/American Nightmare didn't sound like the bands mentioned is because they are modern hardcore, an evolved form of Black Flag, etc., and of course they are completely different from Rise Against and Strike Anywhere because melodic hardcore and hardcore are different genres.

PS. As long as we're on the subject, if you want a really good band that sounds like they came from the 80's hardcore punk scene, check out Hit the Deck.

Rise Against, Thought Riot, Protest The Hero, Pipedown, Strike Anywhere and bands like that I classify as political punkrock or melodic hardcore.

I really want to see that tour, I hope it comes out to Cali. Hatebreed have been one of my favorite bands since Satisfaction, and yet they've eluded me this whole time. I'm yet to see them. Full Blown Chaos' new album is so heavy, its ridiculous.

that tour is amazing, it doesn't come to philly though. it goes to allentown but i wouldn't be able to get there and that show is without SOIA i think. i'm seeing hatebreed at the stillborn fest though
