I can't even watch TNA anymore because it's so unbearably awkward. Not even for laughs :(

I saw Todd Grisham on the Fox Soccer Channel last week, haha.

1) so CM Punk is still champ and Edge is in hell
2) how shity has WWE writing/booking been since they went to a PG rating? very
Ghoul Hunter
08-24-2008, 03:48 PM
you realize you're the only one that thinks that, right? WWE writing has been the best it's been in forever.
Frankie

CM Punk being champ is also a very good thing.
Although I wish the Anaconda Vice would make a comeback as well as the pepsi plunge :p
AJ's working his way back up again which I'm happy at. A Joe Vs Styles title match at Victory Road would work really well imo.

Jeff Jarrett comeback to feud with Booker T is a good piece of writing imo.
The end of the Joe vs Booker T was good.
TNA's biggest problem honestly is the amount of gimmick matches they put on, the amount of multi-man matches they put on and some of the terrible spots they do (So Cal Val and Jay Lethal's wedding on a ppv seriously ?)
Ghoul Hunter

Jeff Jarrett is baaaaaaaaaaad :(
Booker T was amazing in WWE :(
Samoa Joe was incredible when he had the bloody towel and killed everyone :(
Dammit TNA :(

I know I'm a bit late with this, but I really thought Summerslam sucked. Cena-Batista was alright, the Hell in a Cell match was cool but the spots were a bit predictable.
Anyway, loving the 'scramble' matches for all 3 major titles at Unforgiven, that will be awesome.
Ghoul Hunter
09-06-2008, 03:23 AM
Cena vs Batista was a total joke. It could be a 5 star match headlining Wrestlemania too. The good (bad) part about it though, is Cena got hurt during the match so I'm just assuming that's why it was short.

i'm pretty sure he was hurt before the match...
Ghoul Hunter

nah, he hurt it in the match itself.

Yeah but Umaga did that a while ago, although his was a splash, not a spear.
The spear through the cage wall was awesome, gotta admit.
However, the 2 tables spot was so obvious once Edge put Undertaker in a twisted arm grip to mock Taker's 'old skool' maneuver.
So Cena injured himself during the Batista match?? When was that? The end to that match sucked, they should've ended after Batista caught Cena in mid-air with a Batista Bomb. No, Cena kicks out, Batista gives a standard Bomb and its over, wth.

So I was totally on tv 5 times at RAW this week. Didn't look to see if I was on Smackdown. The greatest thing was the Smackdown taping with Vickie. WWE totally hardcore edited her promo because the booing was EXTREMELY!!!!!! loud. No one heard her at all.

I bought The Rock's three disc set yesterday. It's pretty good so far but I'm really disappointed that it's not narrated by him. It's the generic WWE voice over, and all he really gives is the summing up of storylines before the match they're about to show.

Mick Foley goes to TNA then
Potentially very good acquisition not only for his status but for his ability at writing and progressing stories.
EDIT: I knew it was too good to last having CM as champ. Atleast if he was going to drop it to anyone it was good that Jericho won it.

It's nice how they handled it with CM Punk being removed from the match.
Frankie

I knew Punk wasn't going to be given a long run as champ.
Jericho vs CM Punk feud would nice.
Ghoul Hunter
09-08-2008, 08:58 AM
Yeah but I think CM Punk will be out for a while and then come back to take out Orton.
also hoping for a huge second/third generation wrestler stable led by Orton :D
I feel really conflicted, I don't know who to cheer for in a Punk/Orton feud.
Ghoul Hunter
09-08-2008, 12:48 PM
Orton assuming he counters a G2S into a RKO
Frankie
09-08-2008, 12:49 PM
He needs to bring back the Anaconda Vice and the Devil Lock DDT :(
But I'm a big CM Punk fan so it'd obv be him. I like Orton a lot tho'

I'm a little late but holy cow, I'm so excited that Jericho's the champion now. He's my absolute favourite wrestler.
Someone put forth the idea to me that Orton might come back in a fashion similar to Jericho's return last year, to "save us" from the champion... I really hope they don't go down that road.
Ghoul Hunter
09-14-2008, 06:35 AM
He's already back (not full wrestling) and seems to be going to feud with CM Punk.
Frankie
09-18-2008, 10:37 AM
Jericho and HBK for the title at the next PPV ?
I thought they buried the feud but maybe not !
I'm still slightly pissed that they had CM Punk win the belt and then not even drop it fairly in a main event. What was the point in him winning money in the bank if he was only going to hold onto the belt for a short space of time ? Why not have Jericho win MITB ?
Stupid, stupid writing imo.
Anyway Jeff Hardy and Trips for the WWE title at No Mercy should be interesting.

Triple H isn't going to drop the title for a long, long time. He's definately going to have a Cena run with it. I doubt the match will be a mark pleaser anyway... Jeff is just a lot better with smaller opponents in my opinion.
I've got Orton's latest theme stuck in my head at the moment. Very catchy.
...and when the hell is Mr. Kennedy returning from that seperated shoulder?

WWE may or may no have had plans to put belt on Jeff before he was drunk on the plane so now they have to drug test him and that won't be back till after PPV

It really would have been nice to see a Joe Vs AJ main event tbh

Sting's a legend + massive draw.
PoetandthePendulum
10-01-2008, 07:25 AM
Just because he is a legend doesn't mean he should be the main eventer anymore. You hardly saw Flair in the main event (as a singles wrestler) during his later years.

yeah okay overlook the other part of my post
Sting = legend = face = crowd loving him = crowd loving him in the main event = crowd loving him getting a win = ratings
that said, TNA is pretty much an awkward mess of a joke so it doesn't matter anyway.

Or make their videowire's longer and more frequent. The latter would be good tbh and it needs to be done to help build characters and stories.

I agree with what's been said. TNA has shocking writing at the moment.... and they really do drag things out, which is a real pain in the arse.
Sting should retire, he's not even over with the TNA fans anymore and whatever scheme they tried to turn him heel obviously failed, so now they're stuck right down the middle. The only good recent thing I saw of TNA was that Kurt Angle hard juice.
Out of interest, was Jarrett a heel before he left?

I read somewhere that he shot down the idea of turning heel and the writers back down from hit so he kinda gave that promo about the younger talent to start the fued, but at the same time saving face.
As old as Sting is, he still can put on a good match and he can build up matches like it's no ones business. He could put into a match with Kahli(if they were in the same organization) and he could build it up.

I've been watching TNA a bit more these days and I think Foley joining is gonna work wonders for the company. Even though he is essentially a commissioner (although he is said to be a co-owner), he will add a lot of experience and entertainment to the roster.
Not too sure about this 'Main Event Mafia'. For starters, the name sucks. Secondly, putting most of their big name talent into one stable just doesn't seem like a good idea. Sure it looks good on paper, but now most of the big names are in one group. I find that a little restricting on the roster. Finally, Sting as a heel??? I know someone mentioned it above, but I just don't think it works.
Can I just take a moment to appreciate how amazing AJ Styles is. He is phenomenal.

Paul London's been released then.
Srs TNA needs to sign him and put the X Division title on him pronto. Having Abdul Bashir who's a mid carder holding the title makes little sense tbh. The basic style of the X Division was to have High Flyers and Strong Style users competing no matter what weight class they were. Having Bashir (who is talented anyway) hold the strap is idiotic. Bringing back Jack Evans in to feud with London would be a dream come true.
Then purge the X Division of those who are talented mid-carders and get 'em to feud for the 'Legends title'. It's a stupid premise but they needed a new title tbh.

The 'Legends' title is such a lousy idea for a championship. They do need a new title. I've never really seen the fascination of the 'X Division' title either unfortunately.

And yes, it is pretty interesting! He reminds me a bit of Sting for some reason, a weird, colourful version :p but strangely insane

Goldust is so classic. My favorite moment of his was when the Ultimate Warrior came back...and they were gonna fight. Goldust was talking about how the Warrior was like a Super Hero and that he wanted to fly on his back into the sunset. I crack up every time even now.
