And neither of the albums have interludes like on NIME.

Are you kidding, Lee? It's by far their best...the whole album has this spin that not many other power metal albums have. It's heavily orchestrated, but it's not overtly bombastic like Rhapsody is. They still kept their roots heavily in more heavier metal styles.

I'd say it's just as bombastic as Rhapsody ever is but in a different way. The production values in that album can be a bit oppressive and annoying at times though.

I LOLed when I heard this monologue on Rain of a Thousand Flames
Oh god!...oh god... no...
They found it, they found it... the ancient words are going to be pronounced...
Thanks to the cosmic power of the emerald weapon, the book of the dead kept by the dark angel is now open and the rites of blood are going to begin...
Oh no, god!... oh no... I hear those damned words...
Necros, Dagma, Atra, Krona... I hear them... Necros, Dagma, Atra, Krona

One 'Sir Jay Lansford' narrated their albums from 1997 to 2002.
I somehow doubt his title holds any water outside of rainy day afternoons in his den, when he's behind the DM screen.
Whenever I hear his voice, I hear the crackling of d20s and smell greasy, unwashed hair. No lie.

So, I am on a Kamelot listening spree right now.
So I just went to this 5 storey high Saturn (Like Best Buy or Harvey Norman) and the entire top level was dedicated to music and movies. I found probably the biggest "major retailer" metal section I have ever seen, so I picked up a couple of bargains. If I had more money or lived in Hamburg I would probably have bought a whole lot more. You can tell Germans love their power metal, since all sorts of fairly unknown artists were represented (except no Skyclad or Lost Horizon :-/) and it might also be the only country to feature more Manowar than Metallica.

There was this band called Dionysous, and I cannot remember the name of the album, but they were obviously power metal. In any case, the album art featured a rather poorly photoshopped temple with a stone statue of a king in the centre. Now, I am not sure if this is somehow related to the album, or if the graphic artist was just to lazy to draw an original head with a crown on it, but they have photoshopped the head Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn onto this statue.
It is the exact same face as the movie posters have, you have all most likely seen it before. I was tempted to buy the album just so I could keep giggling at it during the flight home. Funniest album art I have ever seen.

Gemeinsam mit der italienische Band Rhapsody, Christopher Lee!
That ruled so hard that I now have to listen to Symphony Pt. 2. It's been far too long.
Tarja Turunen needs to record a version of Poet and The Pendulum. Her voice is much better suited for it.

Yes it is. Annette's version was probably one of the best things vocally she did on that album, but that's totally a Tarja song. Having Annette sing the high parts in the very beginning was a bad idea...
Hell, even Marco's ****in' demo version is a bit better than Annette for the chorus.
EDIT: I never noticed it before, but it looks like they're totally lip-syncing in that Rhapsody video.
I like Annette's voice more than Tarja's.

The only thing the line-up change has really done has made me hate Nightwish fans more than I already did. I mean, they were already showing up at concerts with tears painted on their cheeks and trying to convince me that Wish I Had an Angel was the best song on Once. Did you see the footage of when they performed at Lowlands in 2005? There went the last shred of dignity. The only decent part was when they dedicated a song to Andre from After Forever when they found out he was in the audience. Too bad it was Wish I Had... but it's the thought that counts, right?
More to my original point, have you ever noticed a correllation between female fronted bands and idiot fans?

But yes, female fronted bands tend to have legions of idiot gothic girls following their every move and generall douching up the music for the rest of us. There was so much vinyl and leather at the Nightwish show I was at, I thought I was gonna get blinded every time they shone lights into the audience.

Wouldn't the plural of 'juggalo' be 'juggali'?
idk
from the wikipedia article
On February 1, 2006, alleged Juggalo Jacob Robida engaged in a series of hatchet attacks and a shooting spree which left three dead, including himself and a police officer. ICP has released a statement in which they revile Robida's actions and extended their condolences to the families of his victims.
Idk which is more loserly: these law-abiding ICP posers or the guy whose shooting spree was inspired by that shitty, shitty band.
If you treat it like a Spanish word the plural will be 'juggalos'. If Italian, 'juggali'.

So I'm still working on my Conan project. I've changed my plans slightly and made it a whole series of songs instead of one giant one. I've finished the music for three already and I'm almost finished with the fourth one. After that, there's one instrumental and two more regular songs. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to experiment with effects like reverb, chorus, and phase shifts once I get the actual instruments recorded. My sound card won't let me tinker with those options in GuitarPro.
I really should get to work on some lyrics soon.
The music itself is shaping up to be a mix of power, doom, and Gothic metal. Kind of a weird blend, but that's what's coming out and for the time being I won't argue with it.
I've got a few other pieces sans lyrics ready to record, so I'm hoping that sometime this summer I can record all of it and put it out for download on my website.
I look forward to hearing it. I remember those power tabs (or guitar pro, I can't remember) that you posted a loooong time ago being pretty good. Odds are that it's nothing like them, but it at least proves you know what you're doing.

When I have something I'm comfortable with, I'll put up the midi recording of the first couple tracks. Current track list is shaping up as follows:
The Scarlet Citadel
1. Intro/Betrayal
2. The Scarlet Citadel
3. A Prisoner
4. The Depths
5. On Wings from Beyond
6. King Conan Lives
7. The Battle of Shamar
Side 2
1. Infinite Serpents
2. Fire Wraith
3. Winter Wolf
4. Dark Heart of the Woods
I posted Infinite Serpents once before. Still want make some changes to it. Fire Wraith was my catharsis for that recurring nightmare I described back in 2006. Also my first true foray into doom metal. Winter Wolf was something of an experiment in Gothic metal. Dark Heart of the Woods is a bit of power/Gothic. It does have one of the catchiest riffs I've written yet though.

I would except for the fact the I can't play piano, drums, or bass, and I'm a mediocre guitarist. I've been focusing on my vocals in the last year. It's funny, I can write, but I can't play.
I'll be doing the vocals myself, trying a few different styles to see what sticks. Other than that, I'll be getting friends to do the other instruments. Any gaps, I can probably get a friend with ProTools or Garage Band to fill in.

Call of Fame, The Wanderer, The Quest, and Flying High. All are awesome.
Eh, too much going on with school to get one.
Up to you, but it does give you a degree of independence. Plus I graduated in the top 5% of my state with a part-time job of 15-16 hours a week. If you manage your time well and do subjects/extra-curricular stuff that you enjoy, it is very possible.

If you manage your time well
 I have the worst time management possible. I have a paper due Friday, and I have to give an oral book presentation on Thursday, and I haven't even started the paper yet. I also have only read one chapter of the book.
I also find it a hardship because I don't have a car to go to that job if I got one :(.
As for power metal, I have been playing The Wanderer by Freedom Call for like 15 straight minutes now (approx. 3 times in a row)

Never listen to it, but if you can, listen to The Eyes of the World, Metal Invasion and Tears Falling. Three are awesome.
