But Australia isn't getting any shows anyway, so what happens when people hat e metal? :(

Buy a boat and sail the world looking for metal ports. It would be the power metal thing to do.

The Legacy is...different. It's almost rock, but not...

I think it's good for Helloween, but considering Helloween isn't one of my favorite bands, it's kinda blah...

Stormrider

Once again I say soemthing like this; I havn't heard any Helloween. Except for one song on Headbangers ball :-/

Which was pretty meh to me. Don't remember the title.

We have to make people hate it even more than they already do, so the bands become less popular. Then, WE CAN GET ALL THE TICKETS! MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Helloween is a bit lame...there's a few gems here and there, but they're WAY too simplistic for my tastes.
Yes and we can start by getting americans to hate Sonata Arctica and Dragonforce so they will tour the UK more (or atall in sonata's case):thumb:

In regard to the mediocre bands, I may only like the exceptional ones. If I hear a band like Hammerfall or a Rhapsody ripoff, I can never enjoy it. Epica are relatively well-known. I personally have heard Consign To Oblivion. I see you like female fronted bands. I'm not too fond of them, though I've heard enough. I like them somewhat, Nightwish and After Forever more than most, but the only band I really enjoy operatic female vocals in is Therion, which has plenty of different vocals also.

And it's kind of my job to be friendly. :)

I'm impressed. I have a couple Therion CD's and 3 Epica CD's. And yes, I do like female fronted metal bands, and my Megadeth and Iron maiden friends think I'm crazy because of it. Therion is pretty good, but its one of those bands I only like a few songs off the CDs from. You've only heard songs off Consign to Oblivion? I like there older ones better. A good one is Cry for the moon.

If you want a link to the cry for the moon video, I can post it if interested.

Epica talk

I never really found anything special about them...they're a good band, but they don't really have any originality. An After Forever knockoff, almost, although that may be because their songwriter was a former AF member...:p

Yeah, makes it hard sometimes not to pirate the whole CD instead. I make it a general rule if they're good they deserve my money. I had to do that with Consign to Oblivion before I traveled up to a bigger CD to pick it up, because they would only sell and order it for me, for about $50. FOR A CD!

I love Siberian Winter, a great track. They have those two differend writing styles through. One very rocky classic metal the other the more epic power metal sounding stuff. Well I just finshed downloading Black Hand Inn then and I must say I love it. I had only the Rivarly, Victory and The Brotherhood. I like Dragonmen Jason, I think if you have heard the albums I have, you will know what I mean about the classical rocky metal style on them. I perfered the more epic stuff because on those albums the other style is kinda, well like ac/dc etc. Very unheadbangable, epic or exciting.

This Black Hand in through is great. Don't get me wrong I love classic metal its just on the albums I metioned above some of the tracks in that style are very poor.

I never got into Dragonlance. I really like the Forgotten Realms ones, like the Icewind Dale trilogy, the Drizzt books and Elminster: The Making of a Mage.

I never really liked fantasy books, though hack n slash games go well with power metal...

NP - Kamelot - Memento Mori. Love this song...

I could never get into to Dragonlance either. I had heard good things about R.A Salvatore and Drizzt so I borrowed the Dark Elf trilogy from a friend of mine, but he warned me they weren't as good as everyone said. man he was right, those books bored the hell out of me. I'll never understand what people see in R.A Salvatore. Want some good fantasy? Go read G.R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series, phenomenally written political/high fantasy.

And you claim to like power metal...

Yes, but there's only a certain level of cheese I can take. Power metal tops it off.

Only the bad fantasy books are cheesy (like Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms). The good ones have realistic characters.

I dunno, though, the whole fantasy genre seems cheesy to me...

I will admit I like sci-fi books though. :p

I don't read much fantasy. I read science fiction and classics more.

Sci-fi does rock as well. Dune is amazing.

I like Dragonlance, I havent had a chance for Forgotten Realms yet - Sci Fi is pretty cool also.

And Memento Mori was pratically made for hack n slash. Its pretty much my favorite Kamelot song.

I like Historical Fiction. Personally a fan of Bernad Cornwell at the moment.

For it's three authors. Tolkien, Robert Jordan and Michael Moorcock.

Heh, if by amazing you mean well-worn conventions couched in cliches.

Good fantasy is David Eddings, easily.

Robert "Each book is getting longer" Jordan is alright, heh.

Yeah, that's what I meant about Robert Jordan, hehe.

So then, I've decided that Therion's best album is Secret Of The Runes.

I still cant get into Therion, i cant stand their singer

but i didnt like nightwish first time i heard them so maybe i have to hear a certain song (or it will be like blind guardian in which case i will never like them no matter how much i listen)
